I just wrote the edit tag thing, right before a short meeting. That post should fix it
im confused
About?
None of these commands seem to be working????
Send the command and output
biqu@BTT-CB1:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
ls -l /etc/apt/sources.list.d
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye main contrib non-free
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-updates main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-backports main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-backports main contrib non-free
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib non-free
total 0
That one worked and gave the same result as the other person
the add this infront of the line part?
Then this: #1397478140586229889 message
Yes, add the # in front of the line
then install again?
- edit file:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list - add in front of this line a
#:deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-backports main contrib non-free - press
ctrl+sto save - press
ctrl+xto close
Now the following command should run without issues.
sudo apt updatesudo apt upgrade
The install should work now
the updates are saying invalid command
Send a screenshot.....
Why did you add sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list in front of the #?
is that not what you said
When?
is it meant to be after the hashtag?
oh im stupid
No, it should not be there at all.... It's the command you type to edit, why should you add it inside the file you edit?
No
maybe it wouldve ran a command when installing to bypass the issue idk...
edit file: sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Means, you edit the file with this command. You should know that, as you typed it to edit the file
How?
Tell me
idk im not a coder and i thought its what u said
How should we fix something we have no influence on
You see these two lines? Remove the lower one and add the # in front of the upper one
I already got that, but it's crucial that you understand, how to read instructions. We cannot fix everything with our code. This is a system file and we will not just edit it, especially as the system is EOL.
Please read my steps again one by one and tell me what got you confused, that I can adjust them
its probab ly just me being tired or not copying the right text
so this is correct?
Btw, by editing this file with our code, we could easily get you to install viruses, without you knowing
uhh...
yes
im not installing a virus am i?
But tbh, it's already using admin to install, so we could do a lot of things ^^
Ok its installing
As if I would tell you that xD
But no you are not. You right now, just removed the erroring part, by commenting out the source that is no longer maintained
It's nothing we maintain and it's EOL (end of life), as there are already newer images
