#Crowsnest doesn't detect usb Webcam

Use the by-id path from your log
/dev/v4l/by-id/usb-DDFEP019I4U39S_HP_Truevision_HD_200901010001-video-index0
for extra context the laptop has a built in camera, and I'm trying to use a usb webcam instead of it
i tried using it by-id but nothing has changed so far
Click devices where my cursor is, then select usb( assuming that’s how your controlling the cam) and hit refresh and all your devices should pop up then you can copy the by-id line into the crosnest config
Just fyi, that's the same id as the log is telling you. It's just faster for me to write with the log ^^
The only times I can see it, are either erroneous, before the stream even starts, or you stopped them before the stream started
I would need a log, as the last message of your log, clearly says, it's a wrong device
i think the problem is that sometimes the device swaps names or doesn't show up on the device list
im not sure if its related but sometimes my other devices cannot connect to mainsail even though ive set a static ip
That`s why I said, you should use the by-id path, that won't change
unrelated
yea ill do it
its lost signal again after changing the id
heres the new log
you probably need to scroll down to see the new dates
Set log_level: debug and delete_log: true in your crowsnest.conf
I know how the logs of the klipper eco system look like. Especially the crowsnest one (I bet I downloaded way over 200 different logs now ^^)
