I figured out that I need to install a legacy v3 version of crowsnest, but everytime I run it it just gives me this error:
" make: *** [Makefile:37: install] Error 100 "
I have no idea what to do from here, what I have done so far is switched to the legacy v3 version and then ran:
" sudo make install "
I have little experience with klipper or mainsail or linux in general, so any help would be greatly appreciated

This means, your OS is outdated and you cannot install any packages anymore
How to fix it? Ask the manufacturer of your printer to release an up to date OS
They said no, already tried j updated the printer with the latest firmware they gave before this
So I am screwed an do way to install crowsnest?
There are ways, but if you have to ask if there is a way, you are most likely not qualified to go them alone. We cannot take you by your hand and do all that stuff, as it takes way too much time.
I think there were some custom qidi firmwares out there that got "up-to-date" firmware
Here some random link from like 5s googling: https://github.com/leadustin/QIDI-up2date-english/blob/main/Klipper-Update/update+upgrade.md

Follow it at your own risk
I dont want to go that far
the goal was to avoid it
You have to. Basically the only option, unless you find custom repos
Custom repos are the other route, but you are most likely not knowledgeable enough to do it on your own
ok, then Ill do without, I mostly needed it just for timelapses
In theory you can also just buy a Pi and run the cam external
I know, but I am already running a cam in fluidd and it doesnt matter that much
I figured out how to isntall moonraker timelapse now it just wont run in fluidd...
Sry what?
It used to work, but after installing the moonraker timelapse plugging it stopped working?
Weird 🤷♂️
no I could never get crowsnest working
I just mean a cam
I just plugged in the cam and it worked on my qidi, no setup with crowsnest or anything
Not crowsnest
So why do you want Crowsnest then?
That's some different problem
to use mainsail
because I prefer it to fluidd
Yes, because your Moonraker is outdated
This has nothing to do with Crowsnest
You have to install some older Mainsail version in order to get cams showing up in Mainsail
how would I do that
They still work, you just cannot look at them
Cause I installed it with KIAUH
Download the zip file from the Mainsail repo and unzip it into the Mainsail folder
I don't know the exact version, when camera hiding was implemented
on the printer? how do I access it?
With ssh?
ok, anywhere where I can find that?
no idea how to properly do it... sorry
Go through the release notes:
https://github.com/mainsail-crew/mainsail/releases
It has to be some version where the second number went up
ok, thanks
Google "download file on Linux" and "unzip file on Linux"
It should be listed under features ig
ok thanks
Ok, but how do I get time lapse working, since that is what matters might as well get that working on fluids then work with mainsail
You can set it up through Fluidd (no idea how), in Mainsail (only if you have added a cam and it has to be visible) or in the moonraker.conf
Here the docs on how to configure it in the config: https://github.com/mainsail-crew/moonraker-timelapse/blob/main/docs/configuration.md
