I don't understand the question. Are you scared to press it? It's just a basic download button, like you would download stuff on a different website too

last pine
#

No I pressed it but I have no idea where it downloaded the file to?

lime fog
#

Like I said, it's just a basic download button

We are glad to help and chat with you on our Community Discord, but if you need help and want the best support possible you should, follow a few simple rules:

#

So wherever downloads go to on your not named browser/OS, there it should go to, if the download works

last pine
#

Nope it is not there

lime fog
#

Then send a log like the bot just told you ^^

#

Moonraker.log

#

I will look into it tomorrow

last pine
#

Many thanks I will try to work out how to to do a log file

lime fog
#

Download it with a sftp client

#

The location is ~/printer_data/logs

last pine
#

OK I have no idea what any of that means....I will do some googling and reading.

lime fog
#

Sometimes I just forget that people cannot download it, if they got problems with it 🙈

#

sftp client should get you some program and the path is short for /home/<your_username>/printer_data/logs.

last pine
#

My issue is that I inadvertently deleted my printer.cfg file and I have a config-20240623-104835.zip file that I think has a saved printer.cfg file in it that I would like to trya and restore the printer.cfg file from.

lime fog
#

You can download all the files with a sftp client

#

And with a log we might get some info on what's wrong with your Mainsail download

last pine
#

OK I think I am way out of my depth at this point. I am not a computer guy so this is all a foriegn language to me.

lime fog
#

Just google sftp client

#

On windows it would be something like winscp

#

I can help you tomorrow more in depth maybe, if I got the time, but it's 1 am for me now, so I'm going to bed

last pine
#

Many thanks, sorry to interrupt your sleep.

lime fog
#

You don't. It's my choice that I'm still awake. I don't have to answer you, if I don't want to ^^

last pine
#

OK got the file and I am now trying to attach it here.

#

OK I think the issues is that file when I open it is empty.

lime fog
#

You never tried even once to download a file according to those two logs

lime fog
#

Make a video of the browser showing how you download the files

last pine

OK I understand...You are saying that whatever I was doing to download the files was not actually downloading them. That analysis seems likely to me.

#

I am just ticking the files I want to down load and then right mouse clicking to bring up the dialogue box and then clicking on the downlad tab.

#

I also tried clicking on the file I want to download and then hitting the green download button at the top.

lime fog
#

Please make a video that I can see if anything happens

lime fog
#

Also open the browser console and see if there are any errors

last pine
#

Nothing showing in console.

When I went to record a video I discovered the problem. I access Mainsail interface via the 'Device' tab in OrcaSlicer rather than directly via a web browser. When I access it directly via a web browser the download works perfectly!

Next time, just close this post instead of deleting the first message

Right click on the post or top right three dots menu

Yeah I know. It was a complaint of mine, that there browser is pretty bad

#

Even their upload is only octoprint compatible, therefore you need to use the [octoprint_compat] section in moonraker

last pine
#

Oh you were referring to OrcaSlicers browser.
