I tried connecting my raspberry pi 3 a+ to my btt octopus v1.1 f446 via uart, but everytime I get this error: "mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect"

firmware is flashed with the correct defined pins

/boot/cmdline.txt
erased serial part

/boot/config.txt
added dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt at the bottom

Can you please tell me the difference between dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt and dtoverlay=pi3-miniuart-bt

IRC ( its been a few days since I researched that ) miniuart moves the BT stack to a software UART and UART to the hardware one. But as meteyou already mentioned it depends on your used OS Image. In MainsailOS simply do nothing, if you use something different it might miss also 'enable_uart≈1`. If then there is no connection you should check the köipper firmware setup or check for correct wiring.
