Crowsnest was not designed with Multi Instance support in mind and never will.

Doubt your going to have much luck

I've never worked with a dual instance setup, but the approach I would take is to make two single instance docker containers that have what you need in each, assuming the host system has enough power to run both

Also the names of your printer_data folders

vernal stirrup
#

how would I find the names of my printer_data folders?

latent bough
#

Send the output of ls ~

vernal stirrup
#

crowsnest klippy-env moonraker-env printer_1_data
kiauh mainsail octoeverywhere printer_2_data
kiauh-backups mainsail-config octoeverywhere-env printer_data
klipper moonraker octoeverywhere-installer.log

#

Then you didn't follow the instructions correctly....

vernal stirrup
#

do I need to do that while in the crowsnest directory?

latent bough
#

My reponses will take some time, I'm playing some games atm

#

The first command will get you into the crowsnest directory

vernal stirrup
#

thats fine

#

i really appriciate your help

latent bough
#

During the make config command you have to set either the ~/printer_1_data/config folder or the ~/printer_2_data/config folder. As you are using these for your instances

#

Otherwise you won't have the crowsnest.conf inside your webui

vernal stirrup
#

ok

#

is that the printer data root path?

latent bough
#

For the first input you want to go with y, then second one you want to use y too

vernal stirrup
#

and the third I do ~/printer_1_data/config

#

?

latent bough
#

And then you set either the ~/printer_1_data or ~/printer_2_data

vernal stirrup
#

so setting the third input to ~/printer_1_data/config and doing default for every other input will work?

latent bough
#

Default would be ~/printer_data but with dual setup you don't use that config directory

vernal stirrup
#

ok

#

so all of them should be ~/printer_1_data/config

#

?

latent bough
#

3rd should be ~/printer_1_data but 4th and so on I'm unsure

#

But they should be default

#

If it won't work with default they should be ~/printer_1_data/config for config (3rd), ~/printer_1_data/logs for logs (4th) and ~/printer_1_data/systemd for env (5th)

vernal stirrup
#

ok I did that and good news, the previous error is gone. bad news, the new error is

#

Install environment file ... [FAILED]
Something went wrong!

latent bough
#

Wait a second, I have to look for that, but it might be that you need to set the folder then

vernal stirrup
#

k

latent bough
#

Seems like you have to specify it

latent bough
vernal stirrup
#

shouldnt it be data/config/config or /config/logs or /config/systemd

#

?

latent bough
#

Nope

#

Everything inside printer_data folders

vernal stirrup
#

k

#

I did 1. Y; 2. Y; 3. ~/printer_1_data; 4. ~/printer_1_data/config; 5. ~/printer_1_data/logs; 6. ~/printer_1_data/systemd; 7. Y

#

And I am still getting the enviorment install error

#

what am I missing?

#

/home/owen/printer_1_data

#

should they all be like that?

#

Also, how do you type the symbol that makes discord but your message as code

#

I was being stupid, I got it to work

#

On german QWERTZ layout it's next to the ß, accesible with a shift

latent bough
vernal stirrup
#

not on german so ill have to figure that one out

latent bough
#

`

#

This is the symbol

#

So not ´ and not '

#

Using that symbol one time before and after makes this and using three before and after create this

#

You can also mark it and hit the <> symbol to get the first coding tag

vernal stirrup
#

good to know

#

I have a 75% US QWERTY keyboard and I dont think it has a key for that

latent bough
#

might be on the á key?

#

nvm

vernal stirrup
#

<luckily I can do this>

latent bough
#

The one next to the 1?

vernal stirrup
#

wait nvm lol

latent bough
#

Mark your text and then you see some options popping up

vernal stirrup
#

<im confused>

latent bough
#

like that

vernal stirrup
#

what is the shortcut for that tho

#

My keyboard doesn’t have the Tildy+backtick key

#

It’s just esc

latent bough
vernal stirrup
#

wdym mark it

latent bough
#

Drag over the text field with your mouse

vernal stirrup
#

im not confused anymore

#
