in poe1 you had to identify your primary skill to be a 6-link
in some scenarios you'd have maybe 2x 6-link and maybe 2 more pseudo 6-link
here you will have all your skills 6-linked, but you need to carefully balance your support gems

btw, something very different from poe1 at endgame:
you only get 1 chance at completing a map. there's 6 portals, but if you die - it's gone
completion of a map is based on killing all rare monsters, and the map won't have a boss unless atlas shows that explicitly
once you're down to a certain number of mobs left on the map, the rare monsters will get highlighted

im not near endgame, but im stacking ES at lvl 40 ish and it seems to do a great job

the reason ES is so good is that there are a lot of good ES nodes
and there's a spirit gem that basically drops es blobs, which can either restore your ES, or overstack it to double its value
something similar to blood mage, but works for anyone, and easier to stack due to ES nodes on the tree

for vanquishers books (they boost normal atlas bosses) looks like you need:
1st and 2nd books are from lvl 80 bosses (t14 corrupted + irradiated, or t15 corrupted/irradiated, or t16)
3rd book is from lvl 81 bosses (t15 corrupted + irradiated or t16 corrupted/irradiated)
i'm guessing 4th book might be again lvl 81 boss
and 5th will be t16 corrupted + irradiated (lvl 82) boss
i hope i'm right about the 4th book, because that one will make my boss nodes irradiated, so i'll only need to look for a corrupted boss node and a t16 map
