You can just use shapes to get a good body base and when you feel good abt add details, theres plenty of good tutorials on ytb that can give you the basics

or it could be part of the mission patch on their sleeve, like it has the mission stuff (idk) and the rank next to or before it yknow (that could also be part of the name, or just on the name instead of both or whatever)

I decided to rework my shark man oc and instead of a simple rework I managed to give him: an entire universe of his own, a complex way of life in which I have come up with multiple customs/traditions, and an actual conflict in plot that I'm not even sure where I pulled it from.

I have an oc that is represented by a fox (granted I do not show this man's face ever due to story related things) but I tend to show something on his clothes that's a subtle nod to it. some doodles I've given him a necklace, others I've given him a little orange-black-white gradient handkerchief, weird stuff like that. just depends on the vibes you're going for I think.

Cough cough, real darn late response but I used to be always scared of ruining stuff too. Then I got a good ol fashioned bit of advice from my mom who used to do art too, she said "if ya mess it up you can always just make it again and do it better." Sounds dumb, but realizing you can just make it again better next time does genuinely sometimes help.

Gotta push yourself out of the perfectionism bubble to make things you're happy with, and if you aren't happy with it the first time you keep going til you are.

The torso is very very long, aside from that it looks mostly fine? arms are kinda awkward position wise but that may just be a case of the pose not giving you anywhere to put them

More needs to be done to person of the right, I think a body language reaction would work REALKY well w this scene cliche as it seems

I as the viewer need SOMETHING to grasp onto to be able to understand their emotions, if they’re royalty and used to this song and dance they need to hold themselves up higher, perhaps look vaguely disinterested or holier-than-thou. If it’s romantic it’s cute to see them curl in on themselves a bit as they receive affection etc etc
