Only suggestion would be to not cut it off at the knee, it makes the other leg look slightly awkward, maybe even shorter than the other. Either bring the figure closer or farther away from the camera. Otherwise its very interesting!

Wip for last art fight attack of the year probably, any tips for strong sunlight? It's never been my strong suit when it comes to shading.

If we’re talking golden hour strong, remember to make the lighting vaguely orange n add those epic outline things around the harshest point of light. And assuming you want the lighting to be dramatic, make it MADD dark. Prolly along the lines of tough to see. Otherwise just a soft blue-ish colour works gorgeous style

As the above said, it's just modified csp 3d models. Edited so the proportions are at least semi-realistic along with some other personal tweaks.

I've been using them during art fight since otherwise it just won't get done, last year I refused to use anything to help me out to get things moving faster and I fizzled out immediately.

@full perch sorry for the ping but i have a question about the animal mask you made, where did you get the materials for it? i want to make one but i'm not sure if there's a good place to get stuff from or if i should just order a kit off amazon??

I got my materials from Joann, but I believe they went out of business. I don't recommend buying a kit because I've heard those are kinda trashy. Get a cat mask base, some cardboard, gorilla hot glue sticks, and some regular, not stiff felt. Btw, the fur, I got as a gift. If you want the fur to be colored, how I did it, was I painted it and brushed it with a rug brush. It has to be brushed a couple times while its drying to limit the crustiness. For the base, I just built off of a regular cat mask with cardboard. The base materials (felt, cardboard, cat mask) will be pretty cheap. I usually get some of my materials from Michael's. Don't worry about pings tho lol

would y'all have any suggestions for making a (therian) mask that's not fluffy/fuzzy at all? it's for a cosplay and the character has a like hard outer shell that's smooth and metallic but i'm not sure what to put over the base of the mask to do that so i'm taking suggestions

id suggest using airdry clay on a mask or hot glue for smaller details and smooth out any cracks? its kinda hard to do but thats what id do, ive done that for a beak base before and i think it looked good after i painted it.

possibly foam clay and then use plastidip and paint over? you can spray paint over plastidip too with a glossy spray paint but this requires a lot more material obtaining and im not sure that you have access to disposable income---
but ive used this method for various cosplay props

I should note, plastidip is not required if youre not using foam/not spray painting

You can always use some airdry clay and a nice coat of paint with a glossy coat of any kind over your metalics, if you have details you want to draw on MSC(Mister Super Clear) gives a great surface to draw on but is matte, so do the MSC before your final gloss layer!

For your gloss you could technically even use a glossy top coat from a nailpolish brand, not sure how the brush would work out though-

Depends on head angle and how muscular you're going for. Assuming you're just doing an average person facing straight forward you can generally line up the neck with where the middle of the eyes are. Ofc it's different for every person so you can fudge it a bit.

well wings tend to go beyond the torso of the body, they're actually just arms on birds (it's most understandable with bats since they're also mammals their skeletal structure is pretty similar in comparison) hold i can try to find an image to explain better
