My microphone works in other Steam games and it also picks up when I test it in the Steam app. It worked in the past until recently and I already checked to see if my mic was possibly muted.

Make sure your default devices are set up correctly in windows and try again

In my experience, I just need to unplug my VR because when I open the game, it tries to set the audio channels to my headset.
Not sure if that helps
