This started a few days ago, the usual token time out happened after some time, which is fine.

But now, tokens are lasting maybe 2-3 hours before I have to refresh again.

there are no real errors, just telling you to refresh, interestingly sometimes it says the cookie is no longer valid and it still works, but then it stops working.

I am on the latest beta.

No, but I never have. It used to work a good few months without having to refefsh.

yeah, but thats to just get away from the greater issue of refreshing every X weeks or months, not hourly. This is an entirely new behaviour, but OK

This is all security stuff on Google's side. They will invalidate your cookie as soon as you start playing from the same account on the web app for example. Rumour has it that grabbing a cookie from an incognito window might improve things, but other than that, the only thing that will help here is a dedicated MA account for YTM

Well, I've done it from an incognito window from the beginning (which of probably years ago now) and then this change last week. Just expiring every few hours. So I would argue something changed. I do have a family account thing, where you can have six accounts I think it is but only three people in my family. The trick there is sharing the play lists.

Seems to be working for the moment.. Should we try and get official support from Google? Is that a thing?

What I did is I made my playlists public, added them to the library of my MA account so it automatically picks up any changes I do on my personal account.

Unfortunately, YTM support is one big dirty hack. Official support from Google is non-existent 🥲

Yeah, really? How about with like my Sonos I can add ytm. So it's a thing. Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud I'm sure the team has covered all these things. All good.

Yep, Fair enough. Thanks for the chat. Please don't think I am complaining or something. I get it, it's a best efforts hack. I just use the integration for music in my home office. So I use it ten hours a day, five days a week. So I am quick to notice issues and feedback.

Yea Sonos pay google to use a 'private api' for YTM access that is not accessible to the public. I wish one day we get our hands on that too 🙂
