what do you think? @winter hornet for me i dont mind, since its not as important as general in terms of prioritization for moderation

as long as we keep general, being the facade of the community, clear of code support and filled with healthy discussion, thats already fine by me

Yes this is my stance. When the channels are relatively inactive like right now, there is no need to enforce that. But that is subject to change when the channels are more active. The change may be temporary (to anticipate a major release for example) or permanent - either way we will discuss with everyone and announce properly

also with point 9, some servers like ddevs have 2 mod roles, one with perms and an "active" one, this allowes them to keep their perm, but not get many pings from issues

there is only one mod role you can ping, and that is the active one

note that they only have a modmail, so this is the only way of reporting

also either with 8 or new, have a way of reporting with context... either with slash command or show modal for report context menu (this is hard as currently it doesn't send multiple messages for same report, so how can this be done without spam, and can a modal add unessary complexity for reporting)

also, how should crossposting warning be done? like which of the folowing are bad:

1. general <-> forum (same time)
2. general -> forum (soonish but message is now hidden under other msgs)
3. general -> forum (after a few mins and message is now hidden)
4. forum -> general (after some time of no response)
5. general -> forum (after being told to post there)
6. general -> forum (similar time, but general msg deleted)
7. general -> forum (after being told to make post, reply with the link)

and can we have a recommended way of dealing with crossposting and code help in general
