Welp, this is a clear difference in performance between the 2 options. So if speed is the goal, you should pick WordPress. Maintainability is definitely easier with custom next.js theme than custom wp theme for sure. I'll give it that. So if you want to sacrifice speed for maintainability of 100% custom theme, then next.js is the way to go.
