hopefully, from what I've seen so far, the concept you listed in you article are all still relevant, just rewritten with a more universal API + now can be used by layout components as well as nested components
it'd be nice reading about that because many people are seeking for a kind of "translation" table between each and it's not that obvious
people often forget that these are 2 different step
Gatsby DSG will separate them, doing data fetching on build and page generation on 1st request
