Perhaps you can show the trending word under the search bar by default by recording how much time a certain API has been called.

Talking from the UX perspective, I'm confused by the overly-clean UI when I first visit your site.

"what should I do"
Ok, I see a search bar, can I type in the whole sentences like Google Search? If not, what should I type into the search bar? How do I know what should I do with this particular search bar, while there are tens of thousands search bar out in the field?

"what should I expect to get"
What will the results look like? Will the results fulfill my need if I give it a try? How do I know where are these results comes from? Is it reliable?

Here's another million dollar question:
Who's this application's target audience? What problem are you gonna solve by using this APP in order to help your TA?
