same issue
these are my logs
ive tried installing the nightly version too. only difference is that the nightly version opens 50 windows explorer instances every time it loops.
same issue
same issue
Download an older version from the website in the meantime if you like. Find the older versions page and select 2.4.11. That worked for me, and you can update easily when a fix comes. I think the issue is something to do with the new windows update or something?
broooooo
app wasn't working for new users
really
why people just told me this omg
<@&1380792233850179685> ?
T-T
okey, this only happens since v2.5.2 so is fine
hotfix coming on v2.5.3
Bro I wan on the middle of a match
I did tag you on multiple issues
I didn't noticed this post lol
resend the issue post on support channel if is crash issue only.
I installed version 2.5.3, then 2.5.3 Nightly, but the application does not start and there is a mess with processes in the task manager.
Only version 2.4.11 is stable.
2.5.3 is already out ?
Lol
That was quick
Yes, it is available on GitHub
Yep I think you should get so e sleep man you look tired
Maybe you are sleeping get enough rest
Your issue is not the same
I fixed the reported on this channel, (log files)
Here are the logs after installing the latest version (2.5.3)
As I mentioned earlier, the program doesn't open, the cursor blinks, and the Task Manager displays an infinite number of "explorer" processes
Thank you in advance ❤️
yoooo tysm it works now!
thanks for the logs I will look into this
today
i tried everything bro ur a legend
@here test last nightly and check if logs now are generated
:tada: @earnest sinew just advanced to level 1!
Okey I got the issue now
You are running the app as admin
?
@earnest sinew
But that's the issue it restarts infinity as it tries to de-elevate the process
It was not logged before now I know what the issue is
@thin stream now we know the issue 😛
nice
Btw I won't be able to replicate it probably is multi-account issue
Or something like that
I love these type of bugs who makes me improve the debug system for future
Makes things easier after
So it was on new installs? I was figuring that was the case but wasn’t sure yet
Oh by the way when should we ping you, is it the moment we get a suspicion of the issue but don’t yet know the culprit?
Is it if it’s something app-breaking?
Wait can support use @ here?
It would be pretty neat for it
Lmao I just ran the app from the Microsoft store and it just kept duplicating instances of Explorer. I don't think it is actually admin though.
I'm prob totally wrong though
I can't say for sure, but it seems like I'm launching the app not as admin.
nah, is some bug related to run the app as admin.
that is not allowed for security reasons.
nah only admins can.
ye please download the app from the nightly version on website and send me the logs please.
@earnest sinew I need to check something with you
Sure
if you did, tell me to check if is the same issue or another
I am not home yet, but later. Where will I find the logs though?
Seelen UI Paths
- App data:
%appdata%\com.seelen.seelen-ui - App Logs:
%LocalAppdata%\com.seelen.seelen-ui\logs
hmm F
as question you haven't disabled UAC?
In like 1h I will be home
Disabled? As in the popup asking for admin?
yes
I haven't disabled that, stupidest thing you could do lmao
I just have it be a yes and a no
well, you can, sooooo I need to ask in case.
Huh?
Ok I will send them later when I get back
probably is another issue or the same, who knows.
well aparently the native shell is running as admin in your system, so it can be the cause of infinity loop
I get you, but how do I check it out?
I attempted to verify this myself.
According to Task Manager, Explorer is running with admin privileges.
I’d expect it to be
Yep, this is the main issue, is a security risk on your pc
Btw I removed the run as de-elevated try
Instead just a warning will be shown
Try last nightly, this issue is resolved
Oh maybe also add a warning for when display or monitor drivers aren’t detected, as some disable those it seems
Ye it was before, but removed.
The latest version helped and the program started.
I understand about the possible risks but is there any way to get rid of the warning window each time I launch Seelen?
No, it will be there is better to fix it
Search on google how
Or you need it for some reason to be running as admin the shell?
This is mostly due to the UAC warning windows
Yes
So in that case, I will skip the warning if UAC is off
