Do the wand wood and core types actually make any difference in the game?

Like for eg. Is a Phoenix/ Dragon core actually deal more damage than Unicorn core or something like Phoenix Core Wands can actually learn the most no. of spells?

I have similar doubts for flexibility and length of the wand.

Do all these choices really make a difference or are cosmetic?

they do not make any difference there just consmetic

Yeah I assume the cores should at least matter since their description is given in the game as well when you customise your wand unlike other aspects.
