I made a small drawing. These are stages of Auspex = Seeing magic. The stone is a natural radioactive and energy battery - A mix of Marble and uranium dust within. So you can actually SEE its power and the radiation.

Looking good! Do you plan to also do any other Elder Scrolls maps? Because, I'm looking at my map of ES4: Oblivion on my wall and it also has a map of The Shivering Isles on it, too. That could be a challenge to do, since the map has two different sizes. The Cyrodiil portion is about as detailed as Skyrim's but Shivering Isles doesn't as the same amount of detail.

Not gonna lie, I do wonder if we'll ever see ES6 because so far there's been alot of Starfield talk (no surprise there) but I want to know where ES6 is gonna be based. Personally, given the next gen tech we've got with PS5 etc, I'm thinking it could be two regions in one game. Hammerfell and High Rock. Wouldn't surprise me if the two regions had separate stories that link to one big main story and if they take their experiences with Starfield, we could get to choose if we start in Hammerfell or High Rock. Obviously, it wouldn't be Elder Scrolls if the 'start as a prisoner' trope didn't exist, haha.

Hii! The normal iPad is indeed great! The pro I believe is just a tad bigger, I’m not sure if the quality has an improvement from the normal one, but probably just a tad as well. I’d definitely recommend getting a stylus though.

However if you want to test things out what device do you currently have? I might have a few free programs to suggest.

I also have some other things that have good quality too in terms of devices to recommend as well 😉

Ah I see. Well for starters you can actually test out a few programs on your phone too! I used to create abstract art like that for on the go things. But there’s also a ton of people who make very great subject related works as well with just a phone and it still amazes me to this day.

Anyways here’s a few of my picks in terms of testing the waters:

Ibis paint x, it’s free. The brushes are free as long as you watch 1 ad like every 15 hours or so. I actually use this program for everything despite having procreate. It has pressure sensitivity as well if you use a Bluetooth stylus but I’m sure also with normal ones if I’m not mistaken based on how long and hard you drag a stroke which I think gives a realistic feel.

Sketch by Sony. I love. It’s where I began digital art. I didn’t have a stylus then but they have some really great simple tools to help someone learn the basics. As well as color changing options which I haven’t figured out in ibis. When I say that I mean saturation and hue.

Illustrator draw by adobe. Free. Their brushes are limited however I love their colors and I’ve created different work. Also if you want I can show you what I’ve made which each program if it helps too! Nostalgiaaa triiipp

There’s also another free app by adobe but definitely it’s the same premise. Limited brushes that you can alter, great colors.

Auto desk sketchbook. This one has a free and paid version. However, if you have a Samsung phone chances are you may already have it free in the Samsung rewards area. What I like most is the brushes have texture. But also, the Copic colors are very smooth and solid and I took an immediate liking to it. 👁👄👁 This is the second software I ever used I believe.

Procreate is great. It has a lot of awesome features, however to get good quality work, it isn’t necessary. In fact I pick ibis over it any day but, it’s all based on how you feel. Experiment, experiment, experiment.

What does stand out is how accurate the pressure sensitivity is. There’s also a lot of great features to simplify the process of creating as well. Such as a really cool color fill, the redo undo process is simple, there’s a easy duplication feature. You can create your own brushes, etc etc.

Although the programs I listed above have different versions of these features I think procreate just simplifies it. Plus other artists either sell or share their brushes too for a super large selection.

Anyways here’s my first ever digital work using sketch as well as the abstract I was speaking of for example:

I call this one Highway and it was actually in a gallery once which was nice 😭

As for some devices I’ve owned in the past I’ve literally only ever had a Samsung galaxy tab A which the works below were all created on. An iPad, had the first one (accidental purchase when trying to get my hands on procreate 🤦‍♀️) and this one now is the latest. I also bought a surface book which is a great way to have a computer transform into a laptop. It’s a hefty price and I was lucky to get the steal I did on it.

However I still use my iPad and I think by far no matter which version of it you have, it’s worth it.

I’d definitely go with the cheap route if you can. A good stylus I had in the past I can recommend to you. But be forewarned. Most normal styluses wear down too 😉

And sometimes it can also leave residue on your screen

My tip so far is like keep studying it visually.

I have a harder time creating things from the imagination however I’m much better in regards to observation studies such as still lifes.

Maybe try to do a study on a castle you like

Do time interval training as well to train your eyes

Time interval training is basically finding something and trying to get down as much as you can within crazy time interval and then working back down

I can’t color on paper for the life of me

I’ve tried

But I can’t. Either I screw it up somehow if it’s normal media like markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc

And when it’s more easily blendable like paints, my sight miscalculates hues so once it dries it’s super faded.

I usually just go digital if I want color but even then, I’m beginning to head back to black and white roots

Here’s some of my monochrome stuff

Ibis paint x but I have more recommendations too

And in that case, get blue stacks

That’s how I managed to get those on mine

As for something else people often say clip studio paint is good

I think that’s a computer one

It’s actually kinda funny bc I also felt same at some point

It’s just there’s a lot of programs with a lot of varied experiences, it’s also an experimentation process

In the old days, there were times where I even switched around between multiple for one piece.

What I can say is I relate because maybe you’re like me and you’re more hands on

You like to physically “feel” your work

It gives you a better sense of what you’re doing

I started off with just pencils and paper. Even til now I still struggle with anything concerning coloring in regards to traditional art.

Whereas in digital I am becoming quite decent

It’s all just based on finding your strengths and weaknesses as well and then working on what you’re really passionate about at the moment.

And even if you don’t want to settle on something specific. Experiment.

Whenever I get art block that saves me.

And then also just abstract.

Sometimes instead of making actual things, we often forget to be in tune with ourselves and our feelings. So that really allows you to do so.

There’s so many varied art forms and styles of course. It’s just best to experiment and do what you will. Take the reigns on art rather than the other way around essentially. 😅

Do what you will with it. Bend the rules, even though technically, there are none. I also don’t think there’s mistakes 😉

If it means I have to bulk buy something to get an extra sale thrown in I will.

I have literally once bought over $500 worth of supplies for under $200 😉

There’s also student discounts at art stores as well as long as you show a student id.

I’m not sure if this applies to every store of course, but it did for the ones I’ve gone to which was actually another hidden gem she taught me about

I used to get an extra 10-15% off everything on TOP of the sales

My charger broke for my surface book. As a result, I did the immediate thing anyone would do. Search for a new one.

I am not going to pay $100 for a new replacement charger. 💀

So I was like ok. There’s a short and the piece broke. Maybe I can solder it together since I saw a video that teaches you how to do it.

Except we had no soldering iron.

So I’m like ok. I don’t even know where to find one.

And then I accidentally stumbled across diys.

So basically you can create one from a pencil. I don’t remember the exact requirements however I was able to get an electric charge. I just didn’t have enough voltage to make it solder.

However I made everything else work.

I would definitely not recommend it though. I admit I was being dumb and risky.

I ended up getting a good deal though on a new charger 😎

The electronics store remembered how nice I was to them and they were like. We’ll order one for you and charge you less, because they didn’t have what I needed.

I paid roughly $60

Still a lot but 🤷‍♀️ a steal nonetheless.

I tend to hand-carve wands from wood. Mostly simple designs, of course, and would probably do more intricate designs if I had the tools. Long, and time consuming the way I do it, but not having a job tends to give me more time to do things like that : /
