IIRC not just anyone can cast Avada Kadavra. It needs to have the genuine intent to kill behind it. Otherwise it can kill the caster.

Also The Unforgivable Curses are technically illegal and will get you thrown into Azkaban, but the law about them states that use against humans, muggle or magical is what makes it illegal.

Technically use against non human beings wouldn’t get you in trouble. To the MC in the state of play using it is fine as I think they’re fighting a goblin or some other non human entity.

So while it’s still morally questionable, it wouldn’t get them in trouble with the Ministry of Magic or thrown into Azkaban

Fun thing about German is that you can technically say the words in a sentence in any order you want, cause the words change depending on their 'role' in the sentence. Holidays is too ambiguous.
