If people think boycotting the game will hurt J.K then that would be a mistake, she already got paid. It would only hurt WB and the hard working devs at Port Key.

It's not really a gift though. Rowling talked of it as magic being genetical, something that is passed down. All muggle borns had a squib as their ancestor from whom they inherit the gene.
