Ummm the thing is with these kind of games and developers working on the game is that they take a lot of ideas from fans. So they might have read about a lot of ideas on reddit/discord and trying to implement them into the game as well with the delay. So it could be a winter release + polishing the game, optimizing it. Because it's still in development. Things change in development, features talked about too early might get cut or changed significantly before release. Which often leads to bad press. It's easier for them to wait until the game is as finished as possible before you start talking about the game in any great detail. Of course there's a balance to be struck here.

Just look at Cyberpunk for some examples of this. They were super super cautious during their gameplay demo to say stuff like "this is not the final version of the game". But people expect that to mean "the game will be better than what you see", but what it really means is "anything you see can be removed for whatever reason, don't get attached to anything we show you." And people still bring up things removed from the gameplay demo as false promises, when they never promised anything.
