Jump is just a very fun exploration tool, but because it opens up the game to be broken a lot of games take safer routes with interaction points or contextual jumps, so the user can’t ruin the experience

There used to be a bug where if you got on your bike halfway submerged in water your character would go into the swimming state after they got on the bike

And would get stuck in the water

So you could drive off with your bike and eventually fall through the world because the collisions are only loaded around your character

Except the base layer of the map, which was always solid

Then you could force a respawn by driving off the map so your character got teleported out of water but was at the same position relative to where your bike was when the respawn happened. Using that you could just straight up drive out of the map borders

It's pretty risky to implement jumping mechanics. it can create bugs, like getting stuck in certain parts of a map. Can also be fun since its possible to go into hidden maps
