I think what people are ultimately asking for is a different game. A lot of people do agree that an MMO would be awesome, so there's certainly a market for something like that. However I see a lot of hate/frustration towards this game because it's not another game, when it was never supposed to be anything other than what it is. So while you make sure you let WB know how much you want an MMO, try and not do it at the expense of this game.

If you look at far cry 6 and other giant games, they're not that privy to showing much more even over a year later

They want a fully finished and polished game so they can maximise their profits which would possibly mean a sequel to HL if it succeeds and they aren't going to get as big of a chance of that happening if they release it too early with tons of bugs and god knows what. So as much as it sucks to have no news and to have HL be delayed until 2022 I'm afraid that I would personally rather have them focus on the game than give us news even if the hype does die because once the game is announced a preorder release date the hype will come back again.

Developers themselves often are not responsible for marketing. They could of course write something about the game, but would most likely be breaking NDA by doing so. Being the big company that WB is they most likely have a very through and specific marketing plan that kicked off with the trailer we got, then with the game being delayed so was the marketing and thus it seems like we’re in a drought of no news right now, but honestly it’s to be expected. I expect it to pick back up in q4 this year or q1 next year
