For sure, but I haven't played it 'properly' in years tbh. I think I've said it before, but I basically do trickjumping in the game, in the community it's referred to as 'stunting'

Just ram into ledges and have them launch you onto roofs and rails and all the good stuff

For sure, I could never get into mmos, they always feel so daunting

but I played some briefly with friends, and there seemed to be a lot of guilds and stuff that helped newcomers. I can imagine it's a very welcoming community if you go in alone

Yeah, I think a lot of Mmos are pretty old tho. So communities and content is like. Super developed so sometimes it's hard to break through

Yeah, I honestly have that with a lot of games. Hard to catch up, especially when the games have a trillion updates and you have to take it all in at once, rather than gradually as the game progressed

Even Team Fortress 2 was like that for me. Really wanted to get into it, but there was just so much stuff

It's been pretty alright, worked from 8 - 3, took the last hour off cause I have worked some hours extra before. And I've just been chilling playing games since

power went out at some point during work, which was kind of a bummer

but came back in like 10 minutes so wasn't too bad

It's a bit of both, on the bright side I have a laptop and technically don't need internet. To do bulk of my work. However I need to be connected to vpn to get my work onto the server, and to use the internal website to write change logs and whatnot

and I was in the middle of writing a changelog when it happend

Not a lot, couple of sentences. Change logs aren't that bad, just explaining what has changed.

It'd be worse if I lost all the actual changes I had made to the code. But usually it's saved locally, so even if the internet dies it doesn't matter

And so everyone else doesn't have to suffer while you try and make something work haha

Usually just make sure it works on your copy, send it to the server, write up a change log and then let the testers test it more properly that I can, and potentially deal with any test reports that come back my way

I feel bad for our tester though, she's one person dealing with like 10 developers work. But she's a godsend, she's so thorough it really makes one feel a bit bad when you didn't make things properly and a lot of stuff breaks

Beyond: Two Souls was interesting, but a lot of it lost its weight because every section was out of order. But that homeless section could be a whole game on its own, that was one of the best sections they've made

Detroit is really nice looking, and pretty good game

Some people say the metaphors are a bit in your face, but if you don't really mind that I think you'd enjoy it for sure

especially if you've liked the other games they've put out

They definitely leaned more and more into the whole multiple choices though. I love how in detroit, it shows you a graph of how your story is going, how many choices you missed out on and gives you a reason to play again

a lot of games with choices tend to do it the other way around,

where when you make the choice they're like "THIS IS IMPORTANT THINK WISELY", but then by the end of it you forget about it pretty much. by not shoving your face in the 'important choices' but just showing you that it could have gone differently it feels a lot better

That's at least how I see it, I feel like if the game notifies you when there's a choice that 'matters', it automatically makes it less interesting. If it just feels like any other choice I'd make while playing, it's a lot more satisfying to realize how different a scene could have gone

its still good and evil, but its good and evil relative to the character. Something a jedi considers evil would not always be the same thing a Smuggler considers evil

It’s just different. UE is pushing some good stuff, but very catered towards realism(lumen, meta human, nanite), but it doesn’t mean it’s better. Unity has a lot of stuff going for it too, it’s mostly about what type of game you’re making for what platform.

Well the annoying character that I couldn’t stand but felt bad for is probably Filch just because he’s trying to do his job as a caretaker and students just want to provoke him and I know if I was him, I’d be so upset because I’m trying to do my job and I don’t get paid enough to have students running around in Hogwarts and causing mayhem. I just feel bad for him sometimes but he can be annoying to an extent at least in my opinion.
