I think it's still possible to talk with the company about options to avoid or block those type of calls before they reach you, especially if you're getting an excessive amount of them.

I just don't answer them and block immediately though, and the amount of them has cut way down.

Basically what these scam callers do is that they find a way to hijack someone else's number. Say like it's 404-555-6666 right? Well let's say the name on the account is Lucifer Morningstar right? You get a call from that number and you're like wait a minute why is this guy calling me? well you answer it and it's an automated system telling you that You just want a free trip down to Atlanta. Or it's something to do with the Visa MasterCard. Or it has something to do with like the previous social security number. What a lot of people that are doing these scams don't realize is that it shows the person's real number and it shows their real name.

so now let's say I play along for a minute they hang up I call the number back just to see what happens and I get some random guy and I'll be like yo dude your number's been hijacked You might want to get that checked out

And unfortunately you can't really do anything about it. because for all you know that number could be someone else's number that you could know in the future. The problem is is that if it was a 1-800 number then sure you could block it. But the problem is that even if you do that you're potentially blocking a real person not a scam caller. That's the problem in this case. The same company has called me like four times today I think. It's three or four I lost count. And it's always been a different number and it's been a different name on the account too.
