I get what Rowling was going for, but classifying certain things as Dark Arts just because is shallow world-building and doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Some kinds of dark art, such as the potion that brought Voldemort back to life, are understandably classified as Dark Arts, but how is avada kedavra worse than bombarda which wouldd blow you to smithereens, or confringo which would do the same whilst also burning you at the same time? We're told AK is an instant kill, but Harry survived several times, and MC managed to block it three times during the same fight with Rookwood in Legacy.

Legacy did a better job, and I really do see what they were going for with Seb, but a lot of his 'darkness' was because of bereavement, trauma, and Solomon's grade A* parenting. The world still hasn't convinced me that the spells or the dark arts in general are bad. It just comes down to how people use them and what for.

those spells would kill either way but they are fundamentally very different in how they work. from my understanding in order to be able to use avadakedavra you have to/must want to kill. The intention to kill needs to be there otherwise it doesnt work

One requires strong intent to kill (you have to mean it)

It’s basically pure, direct death magic

You can defend against AK, too. Harry did it in the graveyard when Voldemort, MC did it three times in the same battle against Rookwood in Legacy.

AK is generally a stupid spell. You need to really want to cause death, but you also need to have a certain power level for it to work anyway. And if you're strong enough to wield AK, you're strong enough to kill with more basic spells.

no the spell is unavoidable. what happened in the graveyard is an exception not the rule. Both wands share the same core
This makes them “brother wands”
Brother wands cannot properly duel each other
So instead of Avada Kedavra hitting Harry, the spells lock together

in the game its just done for the game itself. Hogwarts Legacy does make it look like Avada Kedavra can be resisted, but that’s mostly a gameplay vs. lore difference. It behaves more like a very powerful attack than an absolute kill

That’s done for game balance otherwise one spell would trivialize every fight. At least for the main story

the game bends the rules for gameplay and story, not because the spell actually works that way in canon.

Felix Felicis does nothing for finding Field Guide pages, all it does is put loot chests on the minimap. There are no Field Guide pages in the highlands that won't be in your collection; no flying pages or Lumoths or anything like that. If you explore while casting Revelio, each page will reveal its location on your map and minimap until you collect it. Each region of the highlands will also tell you how many (if any) Field Guide pages it contains and whether you have already collected them.

I hate that Warner Bros. focused more on the new Harry Potter series rather than continuing the Fantastic Beasts 4 & 5. I know that it’s exciting to visit Hogwarts once more and have more detailed scenes that the series will show from the books, but Fantastic Beasts has a new story that could’ve summed up and explained Grindelwald’s past and the whereabouts of the Elder’s Wand including new characters who were actually mentioned in the Harry Potter books ever since. And c’mon, the Harry Potter movies are such a success, rising its fame until it became a game literally! Compare to Percy Jackson where the movies were discontinued and turned into a tv series, that has a good and understandable point, but Harry Potter into a tv series instead of continuing Newt’s should-have-been awesome journeys truly disappoints me.
But fine, this Harry Potter tv series is interesting, i won’t judge it, it’s just every time I see it, it’ll only remind me of what Warner Bros. did.

You should find that information on your quest description. I do believe there's a spell to learn before it. Don't remember which but i remember it is said on the requirements of the quest.

The only requirement is disenchantment but I don’t see how it’s helpful against the weird spiders I can only seem to get close enough once to use the fire spell then I’m killed in about 3 hits

Hey everyone, I have a pretty unusual question about the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition case.

My metal case seems to be completely different from every version I’ve seen online. Mine has the Hogwarts crest on BOTH front and back (the back is basically mirrored), no “Hogwarts Legacy” text on the spine, and no copyright text on the back at all.

All other versions I can find (YouTube, eBay, etc.) only have the crest on the front, a different back design, and a titled spine.

The case itself looks like a FuturePak and seems 100% factory-made (nothing looks swapped or modified), just with a totally different print layout.

Has anyone here ever seen this version before or knows if there were multiple production variants or batches?

Would really appreciate any insight – I can share pictures if needed!
