Hi there !
I bought the game when it came out and had no issue playing it. Yesterday though, I wanted to play it again so I updated it, and launched it. Downloaded a few mods and clicked on ''create a new character''. After that, either the game will crash or it will start downloading shaders and then crash.
My drivers are up to date and everything else is fine. Anyone else having this issue ? Or knows how to fix it ?

My suggestion would be to unintall all the mods you installed, then start the game, see if it works. Then one by one install the mods again, checking if it works after adding each mod.

When it stops working is when you've found the mod causing the issue.

Likely it's either a bug introduced with the mod or it conflicting with a different mod.

If it is the latter then changing the load order of your mods may solve it, though if it doesn't then I'll guess you'll just have to play without that mod, whichever one it may be.

Hmm. You could try verifying the game files. If that doesn't work then I suggest a full unintall and reinstall. Before you reinstall, search your program files for any folders to do with Hogwarts Legacy left on your computer and delete them (you can save your save games if they didn't have mods).

Update: So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it (deleted all the related files too) and now when I go to create a new character it doesn't even ''prepare shaders'' it just automatically crashes

Make sure your drivers are up to date, delete the ~mods folder (itmight still be there) and verify the integrity of your files again

If verifying game files doesn't help then I'd suggest making a support ticket through WB.

i just fixed it! i was modding the game before the new mod update so the mods basically messed it up, but its ok because the mods are in the new mod update anyway haha

i dont exactly remember but i think harry’s son goes to hogwarts and is sorted to slytherin because he became friends with draco malfoy’s son which makes him slytherin too for some reason, then voldemort’s daughter shows up bc that happened apparently and the trolley witch is now a demon and also amos diggory wants to break wizarding law to time travel and bring back his son after like 30 years for no reason whatsoever and although every time turner got smashed in book 5, two are still there for some reason so harry and draco’s sons go back in time and get betrayed by voldemort’s daughter and then harry ron and hermione go and rescue them and they go back to the moment when harry survives Avada Kedavra at the age of one and they subdue voldemort’s daughter from returning to her father without anyone noticing somehow and then they go back to the present, voldy’s daughter is captured and harry learns to love his children like a father is supposed to anyways.
