There's a lot, and I mean A LOT, of enjoyment that comes from the worldbuilding though - seeing, hearing about and exploring all the places you've come to love, getting to use the spells you're familiar with etc.

I'd say if you enjoy modern AC, or games with a similar vibe and gameplay flow, you're probably going to like HL. If not... I'd definitely at least wait for a sale.

Yes, the game counts Ancient Magic uses as they happen, it won't reset if you have to reload.

You do need to keep track all on the same character though.

Im considering getting the game. Ive heard a lot of things about the game being rather formulaic and repetitive in the exploration and therefore not being very replayable... It's probably not as bad as some ubisoft games but I still worry about the game's open world being "quantity over quality"-oriented when it comes to the content it contains... Does the diversity in HL's world compare at all to Elden Ring, for example?

It most definitely doesn't compare to Elden Ring. Then again, ER has one of the 3 best open-worlds of all time imo, so that's a tough comparison.

It's less bloated than recent Ubisoft games, but it's still very formulaic and doesn't have much replayability on its own. I'd personally compare it to the world of Witcher 3 in terms of exploration and progression, although HL does have more variety in locations/activities.

is there anything else besides destroying the items that I can do or can I get more slots?

The real artists whose content was stolen and used in the AI get no credit and no compensation for their work and lose control over what it's used for. Not to mention the evolution of 'deepfake' content, which can and already has caused very real harm due to the increased difficulty in telling the difference between deepfake and reality.

I think that would be good I couldn't deal with plants even though when I was a kid I love playing outside but once I got older I just prefer indoors I didn't like going to camping. I think that people need to wait and see for now, the clickbait articles make it seem much more definitive than it actually is. I don't have a lot of faith in WB games in general, given their track record over the last 5~ years, but I don't see them taking the risk of going live service with the HL sequel - not when sticking to single player is such an easy way to ensure its huge success.

I definitely worry about the franchise as a whole though. After HLs huge success I was kinda hoping for more Wizarding World single-player games over multiple genres, which seems extremely unlikely as of now.
