Question: I noticed that whenever I play Hogwarts Legacy, I need to "prepare shaders". Granted this only takes roughly 20 seconds to do, but is this normal all the time?

I run an i7 8700K + RX 6700XT with modded Amernime drivers (cuz AMD drivers gave me cancer, f*** you AMD) so does this have an effect?

Soooo I have a problem I just experienced my first glitch I guess...? So in the garden of hogwarts castle there is a grass dragon if u walk to the back on the right side if your facing the dragon there's a small grassy hidden path. In the back of that path there is a treasure chest I thought it was one of the chest that u need to be invisible but it not. I opened the chest while being invisible and it turned out to be an item I need to take back to the room of requirement Now. My problem is as soon as I opened I started falling through the ground and now I'm under the map still falling and invisible. How do I fix that? And I can't pause the game to load up a saved file neither

yeah resolution scaling ive tried. for me its diminishing returns before 4k but it does make everything sharper. on my 1080p hdr panel i usually downsample from 2k. looks better than many anti aliasing options. at least in older games without dsr stuff

Eh, hardly any bugs seems super debateable. It doesn't have a ton of bugs in the sense of quests being broken, etc. But it does have major optimization issues

This is wrong. Yes, HDD's are slower, and it might cause stutters, but paging files on a SSD is terrible for the lifespan of the SSD. This is why Windows turns it off by default if you have a SSD.

Optimally get enough RAM that you don't need to have a paging file, but if you can't, you absolutely should use a HDD.

Putting a pagefile on a SSD is like defragging a SSD, it's a lot of unnecessary writes to a device that deteriorates when written to.

Yeah, this part, I think I dropped to maybe 10-20 fps, it was so slow it actually caused me to have trouble controlling the movement of the character

That was at 4K with every setting maxed, so I was able to lower settings or turn DLSS on to fix the issue, but I just found it weird that that one area forced me to do so when it was fine everywhere else

the save before the problem is 7th starting from the top and because the game is so good that it only allows you to access 6, i can't

If your on console then dashboard and restart the system, sometimes clearing the cache can help with these issues as well, if your on PC then force close and load back into the game and see if that resolves the issue, if your on pc also check to make sure that everything is up-to-date mainly your graphics drivers

That would be correct, then check to make sure that there arnt any important updates, if your system hasn't updated in awhile there are some important files that might be causing your rendering issues
