Avalanche used to be under Disney, which aren't exactly known to give developers a lot of time or money to develop movie tie in games. However the studio was shut down, and then aquired by WB. I think it's safe to say that WB has given them the money, and support to create a game much better than Avalanche has ever done before. I don't think it'll be perfect by any means, but I still think it'll be a solid game, and if nothing else, a really good Harry Potter game

Another fair point. Working under time pressure and limited budget does allow you to work faster and harder so hopefuly they gained some skills being put under that sort of stress, bringing out a better game for it

Although recent WB haven't been received too well. Middle Earth games were very very good and had incredible depth to the systems in play so hopefuly that will rub off here.

I looked through their linkedin as well, and they seem to have some good new hires. One of their animation leads was an animator at Pixar for 9 years before working on this game. So I'm sure they not only have people with experience from their previous games, but brought in a ton of new people with experience in this type of game or experts in their field

DLC for multiplayer quidditch could be a thing as well as world roaming with a max amount of players possibly. But they want a seamless world from what I gather, so having a bunch of players running around will make it feel like an MMO more than a story driven experience. It's a story about you and your progression, having other players walking around will really destroy immersion

I'm glad its just a single player focused game. walking around the castle without other people talking to you unless context sensitive will really make you feel like you're there. If it had a bunch of people walking around, even friends just removes you from the overall experience. Look at GTA Online, you might be doing something then someone shows up swearing and blowing stuff up everywhere and it really dumbs the whole experience down lol
