On ps5 you can screen share in both directions. My bestie and I would do that with Elden Ring so we could still hang out and watch each other even when we weren't able to co-op in an area anymore.

It's not the same as co-op but you can still kinda virtually keep tabs on each other and decide to explore the same things at the same time.

A dueling mode would be SO cool though. And so would co-op exploration. And giving each other tours of our ROR and vivariums would be awesome.

I understand why they didn't do any multiplayer this time. It would've been a massive undertaking. Maybe they could do something like No Man's Sky and add it later, or just make it a priority for the sequel.

I know they said no microtransactions, but I feel like most people wouldn't consider a large paid expansion or multiplayer mode to be microtransactions.

They need to make sure this game sells well and the idea works

Just like starfield wont have coop or online, it has the "same" architecture at the start like no mans sky. But if you look into it a bit more the difference is so big, with Starfield being a rpg with towns full of npcs and quests. While no mans sky is more of a sandbox game without actual story telling etc.

It doesn't feel like most other cash grab DLC where you're spending way too much for a single character/map/quest. You pay 40-50ish bucks and need to own the base game, and it just feels like a sequel built inside the already existing game.

Why not give the ability to join a host player's world and explore alongside them? The joining player can collect things, tame beasts, maybe even find collectibles that count towards their own save file (or maybe you'd have to run back in your own world to actually get these but you could at least figure stuff out together)

You cant tame, do quests and more which are the main points in an rpg game together other than working on it and adding things for months, which they could invest in doing actual singleplayer content dlcs.

All the Souls games are singleplayer but they allow co-op.

The latest Pokemon game is absolutely singleplayer but exploring the world with friends and catching Pokemon together is a blast.

And dark souls is fighting mobs. You are playing games specifically made for them and want again, online in an RPG game.

HL is a game with fully written quests, this is the genre. It just isnt coop.

People want to somehow put this into games especially played in singleplayer, this isnt monster hunter, dark souls or other games. Like Witcher, Skyrim, and any other singleplayer rpg game isnt coop or online.

There can be 1+ hour stretches of time where player 2 does nothing in Tales games.

But if you're both invested in the story then it's all good. Player 2 picks up the controller when the battles happen and you aren't avoiding combat for backtracking and sidequests.

But in a game like Hogwarts Legacy of you're both controlling your individual characters outside cutscenes that wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem.

If I would be a game designer I would go for multiplayer games where you can play with friends.. it’s always better. Also there can be much aspects in this world which makes it a unique game. Like upgradable wands, armor rings amulet, cape, wizard hats. I would design dungeons as riddles where everyone need to do something before beating the boss - A bit Zelda like. The development effort is of course much much higher. From skill tree I would give two hands full of spells where you can master only one and of course craftings skills. The wizard world has actually no boundaries which could be very interesting for a multiplayer game.

I played like 300 hours on story mode, but online was such a nice idea because it just is the best and most realistic cowboy western game you ever saw. And it just makes so much fun to go on a robbery and stuff with people, but the content they made was just for grinding for days and as a reward getting small stuff that isnt worth it, with no new and big content added. What, christmas is coming? Here you have a 20% off for skins and one single mission were you do the same thing over. They didnt even try, and what they made was butchering the community and fans without giving them anything, so so sad

GTA is fast-paced, action packed something is happening all the time. Red Dead is not.

Red Read is more laid back and a story experience. GTA isn't imo. It's more of a theme park.

Just way more accessible, and easier to milk as well, I would imagine. Red Dead just doe not work as an Online Game the way GTA does.

Maybe it's also more of a niche title. I know plenty of people who thought Red Read too slow paced, boring even. So, idk. Different strokes and all that.

You can get a small desk space heater for like 30 bucks on Amazon or at Walmart.

Most space heaters are advertised to heat different sized spaces but the reality is that they almost always pull the same amount of power and create the same amount of heat.

Some may disperse heat a little better than others or maintain heat even while powered off for a while....

But other than that, there's rarely much reason to get more than the most affordable.

The stand-alone quidditch game from the PS2/GameCube era kind of proves that Quidditch isn't really all that engaging or fun to play in video game form.
