Not really, they clearly stated it's singleplayer and to make something online would just be soo much time consuming and not fitting for this game, game like gta is a sandbox game and HL is more an immersive dialogue choose game so they will most likely focus on doing more content for already existing singleplayer

They could possibly add an online mode. But if they do, it will be very far after the game launches. The devs really wanted to do single player to focus on the companion feature and storyline.
Co op would be fun I guess, but online co op with lots of people would be toxic and chaotic.
