Does anyone know how to add a spell cast to a exsiting animation that doesn't have a spellcast in the animation?

Wouldn't it be better to call on a duplicate of the animation that you've modified to have a cast? Not sure there is a way to directly edit the original animation that would show in-game. After it's built, backtrack to find your trigger and have the game target your animation instead of the original

so I've tried to duplicate the animation to trigger a spell cast but in the Level the enimes aren't taking damge but the animation and spell Vfx are running and the spell damage is on the spell knowledge

Keep in mind that animation, targeting, and damage are all separate. Animation is just the visual, targeting should already be modular to accept your input. For the damage, if it's on the spell, did you just assign a damage value for the spell, or does it also subtract from the targeted character?

Looks like your injection point will be the assett: BTT_Biped_Protego. Duplicate and modify to account for new animation. Since the state tree is build early in the game, instead of looking for its creation, try to override the asset

The character editor mod works with the faces, makeup & hairdos. The makeup set & hair I'm workin on works within that mod in particular. If you make a face mod, it should just plug right into it like mine.

Like, the MC doing it? No. They're either lying or confused; it is in Ominis's backstory that his family cast the Cruciatus Curse on him as a child, and there is a certain choice you can make where you cast the Imperius Curse on him, but other than that, no.

Some, like the effects, can be done by editing the material instances within the kit. Others, like shapes, have to be made in Blender & then imported into the kit to get the mod to Curseforge.

The same thing happened to me when casting basic spells, and after a long time—when I had already stopped playing, thinking the game was bugged—it turned out to be a faulty Elder Wand mod. If you have any wand mods, try removing them; it might be that.

if you are playing without mods you could try starting from a save point before the duel with Sebastian.

First of all, you would need to pay for server space to accommodate hundreds or potentially thousands of online users at any given time. Secondly, you would also need some kind of moderation system in place to prevent harassment or other bad behaviour from the players, which would require a way to monitor for said behaviour and enforce sanctions against rule-breakers. Thirdly, when it comes to anything connected to the internet, cybersecurity is mandatory. You would need to implement security measures to prevent attacks against other players or your servers, which would require constant monitoring and upkeep against players trying to breach those defences. None of that work is possible for one single person to perform.

And that's just off the top of my head. Someone with deeper knowledge could probably explain even deeper why such a thing just isn't possible.

Not to mention, obviously, writing the code to make a wholly new, multiplayer version of the game.

If I managed to complete the project, I would release both the server and client directly so that any user who wants to can create their own personal server. As for servers, I already have one paid for a year, so right now I'm not doing anything with it. As for security and other issues, yes, that's true, but basically anyone can dump the Unreal Engine and make their own cheats, which is why if a user decides to create their own server, in addition to the scripts, they also have to make their own custom anti-cheat. As for attacks on the server and other issues, that's a minor problem that right now there's no way or reason to think about because of all the other things that need to be done.

Honestly? It's something I want to do. I accept advice and ask for “help” with ideas or other things, but otherwise I'm fine, haha.

Man, playing for the first time since around release with some mods. Apparently festidio, the ghost from that haunted shop quest, will report my use of an unforgivable curse and so I was fighting his golem and aurors, and got taken to Azkaban before I could beat him. Hope that didn't just break my quest lol

Nevermind. Had to load last save anyways because it happened when I was upside down so when I went to Azkaban my controls were still inverted and that's unplayable lol

hello! so all you have to do is when you get to the initial menu of the game, there will be a section of ‘play with mods” it will ask you to sign in WB, after you do that, u can freely download any mods in the built in mod library of the game

after you download which mods you like, there will be an enable mods in the upper left corner, you just click on your modded character and apply the mods you want and you can freely play with them after that : )

I will say this, if starting the game over from the beginning, don't load any modded save until after getting sorted into a house at minimum. Once you open up the first classes, the modded saves usually load without fail.

Hi 👋 my knowledge with mods is pretty low but from what you're experiencing sounds like a incompatible issue.

Double check the mod website on how to install it correctly or either remove it, verify your game then download again. Hope u find solution that works for u.

I think they can, I have seen few people I'm close to use. The issue is they will not use the in-game mod menu for them, and they might need to ensure they are compatible with the current game version.

Hi 👋 I completely understand. Sorry you're going through it. Phobia isn't mostly about logics, it's about physical reactions. The in game mode is very thoughtful but it's not enough for most of us,as far I noticed including myself since it made more anxious.

I did some digging and found you one mod that caught my attentio- model replacement- it replaces objects with burger. I have noted few people said that some issues. Have look into it before you download.

I hope future accessibility options can offer us even further visual abstraction or an option to remove the creatures entirely without needing mods. 🤞

if you're afraid of spiders you don't need a mod or a completed save file... you’re really missing out on the fun seriously. Just go to settings > accessibility options and turn on "arachnophobia mode." it changes how spiders look and removes their screeches. If i'm being honest... their noises used to make my skin crawl for some reason lol... so i just spammed avada kedavra at every single one of them with the volume turned way down. It works i guess

if they still freak you out I suggest doing what I did, download a mod that removes spell cooldowns and just absolutely spam your most powerful spells like some goddess. And if you’ve got avada kedavra well… it’s a one hit solution. I mean Voldemort didn’t have a cooldown on avada so why should you? i guarantee that once the mission is over you’ll look back and laugh because in the end it’s just a game. Another pro tip: don’t use headphones or play some music in the background. I always tackle horror games packed with jumpscares while listening to music it helps remind my brain that nothing is actually trying to kill me and takes the edge off the scares

oh and if you don't have the avada kedavra spell you can just download the mod that unlocks every spell in the game. You could spam it with your eyes closed and one shot anyone

I have completed that quest not once but few other times. The first time I didn't know what i signed up for. I won't say it's easy and my first playthrough it was a mess for taking the left side.

My wizard in Hogwarts Legacy is a brave i would say and powerful individual. I, the person holding the controller, however, was reduced to a screaming mess, casting spells with my eyes closed during that quest.

The second play through I decided to take right side, it seemed less scary but I won't say there was no spiders. switch to easy mode and burn them with ur eyes closed. Run through them or camp near the water area like I did on my first playthrough.😭

i figured out a solution, i just asked my friend to navigate me and tell me when spiders are on screen, headphones muted so I can't hear. Sorry to hear that, I have found this one in the Steam community. It was a fix for someone and it says make the windows display settings to 125% and scroll all the way down. You can also try running as administrator.

Bad news: it only works with VPN

Hello there!

I'm just getting into using the Creators Kit for modding and I've got a few questions I'm hoping someone here could help with or point me in the right direction.

1- I've got multiple outfits for the Main Companions (Poppy etc) chening with the interact option of Floo Companion but can't get the multiple outfits to work with Non-Main Companions (Samantha Dale etc.). Does anyone have an idea on how to accomplish this?

2-Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to pull assets from the .pak files of other mods? I'm guessing via Blender or another program for converting the files to an Unreal friendly format. Or is there a way to do it in the kit? I'm looking for more clothing options and many other authors have already done the work of pulling apart the full-body outfits into top\bottom.

3-Which brings me to, is it frowned upon to use another author's work (with credits of course)? I'm looking to train myself in Blender to mod my own assets but I'm kinda busy at the moment and looking for shortcuts.

Answer for Question 1: The non-main companions can have multiple outfits across multiple mods in use, like my Autumn's Bane, Winter's Revenge & Wicked Witches & Wicked Wizards mods for example. However, using the static data tables, you can add a "no-robe" look for them as well. I haven't figured out how to get the no-robe look to work in-game yet, but the default & no-robe looks both load in the kit for me for the characters I've got them added for.

Answer for Question 2: The kit allows you to export outfits & meshes as FBX files, which can then be loaded in Blender & edited as you wish. I've chosen to edit the clothes that are already in the game & have exported the pieces to where I can edit the mesh in Blender. There is a tutorial on how to do a gear replacement mod that I know of, which I have used in the past just to learn from & it does work.

Answer for question 3: As long you can get ahold of the mod author in question, ask for permission & properly give credit, it's not frowned upon in most cases. Some authors are giving & others aren't so it'll heavily depend on which mod. Also, the kit does have limits to what it can do as WB Games & Avalanche have locked some things down for their use only & if one tries to go beyond said locks, it will cause the kit to crash & shut down.

Some mods may conflict with others, but if refreshing the vendor stocks doesn't make it appear, do let the mod author know so they can fix it. ☺️ Sometimes even we get a bug from the mod cooker & don't realize it right away.

I have an RTX 5070 Ti and a Ryzen 5 7500F.

The game recommends setting everything (including ray tracing) to Ultra.

I tried DLSS 4 and DLSS 4.5. In both cases I get 300–400 FPS, but textures often load late and I experience stutters in the game.

I also turned off ray-traced reflections because they look noisy and not very good.

However, the stutters are still there.

How can I get rid of them?

you're stuck for how long? sometimes it'll take quite a bit of time to load a modded save, the game could even restart itself for that purpose

Foes usually respawn after a certain time too. I'll clear poacher camps & within 2 hours, it's reloaded with foes. A full day in the game is 45 minutes, but changing the time of day speeds that up.

They shouldn't be broken if you're using the updated game & using the mods from the in-game mod menu. The mods from Nexus are unauthorized & the update broke all appearance mods from Nexus anyway. If they haven't been ported over, then they can't be used with the updated game.

it takes 400GB of space & has over 300,000 shader to compile once opened for the first time, so make sure your OS is up to date & shut down all other programs before you open it.... else it will crash. It took my machine 6 hours to do those starting shaders, so be ready to go do something else for about that long once it starts on that 300k set. ♥ Just giving you fair warning.

Go into Settings, find where it says System & then find Storage. That will tell you how much space is left on your PC. Be ready to delete or move a lot of things to make space for the kit.

Then just make sure your OS has no pending updates. If you have the space, which you do, then go ahead & install it. It's gonna take time to install & the bar might not move for a while, but as long as it shows that the kit is writing to your drive system, it's installing. ♥

Mods from Nexus are broken for the most part & are unauthorized anyway. However, the Character Editor did get ported over to Curseforge & is an official mod with the updated game! The new MC stuff I've been working on loads in it perfectly, but I have yet to release my new stuff. 😅

Okay, I might have the answer for this one. In the static tables, you can add no-robe charas into it & it'll load them in the Character Creator. Did you delete the extra name in the static tables? I have Ominis, Garreth & Lucan in one that I'm working on.

Check the tables all the way around & make sure the blueprints don't reference the old DA. Pull your mod data table up & ensure that the error DA isn't in it either. 😎

it could be that you might use a custom skin color which may conflict with the makeup perhaps? try to pick a skin color from the vanilla ones if you do have a custom skin color mod and see if that also fixes the issue

I think you're not alone on this issue, multiple people had difficult with nexus mods since the game updated in early 2025 ig.

Now most people use the new in-game mod manager, that's what I observed so far.

I believe u can yes, Sometimes if you're using to many spells it can get bugy I think. Hope it works for you. Try to abandon the quest, it can fix many glitches and bugs that way

A big part of it is the outdated format for many of the Nexus mods. Someone also recently mentioned that part of it has to do with the launcher you use. They said Steam is the only one still compatible. I’m not sure how true this is since I use steam. When using Nexus mods, I use the Vortex Mod manager and launch the game with that. Hope this helps

The mods from Nexus are unauthorized & most of them don't work anymore. Curseforge has all of the official mods that are downloadable in the in-game mod menu. Many of the old mods from Nexus have been ported over with the Creator Kit, but due to a bug, not all of the mods from Nexus have been ported over. There are many that haven't been ported to CF either due to the mod authors dropping from modding the game entirely or due to the restrictions (like the 2-3 day wait time from CF to go through their approval process) that CF has in place to keep the mods within the rules that both Avalanche & WB Games have set for this game in particular. The kit, although powerful, does have its limits & a lot of things are locked from the mod authors within the kit that are only for WB & Avalanche to tinker with, which is respectable on their end. I personally have ported over my 2 outfit mods from Nexus to Curseforge & have added more sine the kit came out.

If you’re duplicating the assets of the common room to a separate space, it will not affect the original common room. If you are creating blueprints that control different functions of your space, be mindful of the variable naming. Unintentional overlap when running logic can have unexpected effects. If your intent was to expand on the original room, that’s a bit more in depth

whenever i play hogwarts legacy my screen starts flickering a bit, it feels like there's a shade of grey which flickers both in game and in other tabs
in game, mostly the vignette flickers and when i close the game the flickering continues for a couple minutes.
Is this a common issue with either hogwarts legacy or with laptops heating or something?

i also think the flickering starts when i alt tab, or when i adjust brightness or volume and the windows ui pops up. perhaps it could have something to do with the game not allowing exclusive fullscreen on pc?

There are plenty of mods that change brooms into something else. The mount is still accessed the same way, instead of a broom, it’s whatever item they added. There are also a few mods that change what animal you mount. When looking at mods on the curse forge site, filter by broom. Most are technically part of that category

Hello, I started playing recently with mods, past week, and 4 days in my modded save no longer loads. I'm stuck in the loading screen, went through the shaders.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, ive completely uninstalled mods, cleared folders and that save is still infinite loading. Am I cooked or is there more I can do?

Pretty much, it'll do the shader load, then go to the loading screen with the helpful hint tips and nice background, and the loading icon on the bottom right.

if you did add new mods before loading, things like this will happen, the load time can vary from seconds to who knows how long, sometimes you just have to wait for the game to load itself

I have these mods installed but I am not sure if they are working? hogwarts hairstyles, holiday cozy forest, character editor (here eg. i didnt find any additional options apart from the default), npc schedule enhanced, rescue animals (i never saw an option to rescue), hair ribbon accessory (never seen again). hello, for the outfits, do you have the dekita vendor stocks mods? it lets you refresh at gladrags i believe instantly and the clothes should pop up where you will be able to buy them

though for the character editor, i would say remove the hairstyle mods and reapply them. you may have to verify files

The only thing wrong with Hogwarts Legacy was that it needed to be online.
Very rarely was any wizard or witch ever alone in the movies. They always went on adventure in groups, so why make it a single player game only? That made 0 sense.

And no, it did not 'need' to be online. Not every game needs live service. We could stand to have fewer live service games, actually. I actually DON'T enjoy losing access to my favourite games entirely because the companies who made them decided they were no longer profitable and shut down the servers.

The online feature doesn't necessarily have to be the way you're thinking. For example, it could be like how it was on Fable 3 where you can join people's games to beat the entire game with them if you wanted to. No paywall or transactions. But the option to play through a friend's game with them is something that should have been included. I understand your reasoning, but it still makes the game lack luster considering the fact that is NOT how any Harry Potter movie was, where you solo everything. I said the same thing about Elden Ring. Some game worlds are so beautiful that I wanted to experience them with a friend. Real shame Hogwarts Legacy didn't allow that. Fable 3 was still single player focused, but with co-op feature. It wouldn't hurt at all to have given HL that. You don't need an online server if you do it right.

At least with it, you can have any NPC companion within reason. You can have Ominis, Lucan, Garreth, Adelaide, Samantha, Amit & any of the others by your side. You can only pick one, but at least you won't be alone.

I just looked it up on youtube. Looks interesting, but I was thinking about the Skyrim "Together Reborn" mod. I heard that there was a Hogwarts Legacy version that worked, but was buggy, so I was wondering what the progress was on that. I figured somebody here might be able to give me a quick answer about that HL online mod. Because I hear the Skyrim version came a long way, and works well. It's my hope the HL version does too.

The only way you're allowed to mod the game is through the in-game mod manager. In order for something to appear in the in-game library, it first needs to be submitted to CurseForge and vetted by the game devs. A multiplayer mod is not something they're going to approve.

It was an old mod that came before the kit & I know its last known name, Hogwarp. The update that the game got that allows mods from the creator kit broke a vast majority of the old mods, which were unauthorized in the first place. Curseforge is where the old mods were supposed to get ported over to, but there's a bug in the kit that prevents some mods from getting made & there are heavy limits on the kit as well that prevents the authors to make a lot of things. This game wasn't made to be a multiplayer game at all, but having the floo companion mod at least gives you a companion of your picking. I've even gone through the trouble to add to the student loadouts for battle just to make it a little more fun to use.
