I joined just now as I was attempting to figure out how these mods work. I load them and they do not work as Steam is on my D drive... and the user files are, of course, on the C drive. How do I get the mod folder to the Steam app on the D drive is what I am trying to determine.

I might do that. I wouldn't mind dropping $100 just to move the HUD inward. Cooldowns, minimap, healthbar, etc are just impossible to see.

You have to make a copy of your current save and add the mods to it. Your un-modded save will stay the way it is and you CAN still get achievements on it. Tested and proven this today myself.

At least they provided a guide for mod authors on how to do that.

There is an official guide for doing so but due to some very questionable decisionmaking, mods made through the Creator Kit can't be deployed locally, only to CurseForge, so you can't even port existing mods for personal use, as you'd potentially be committing copyright infringement.
And according to the patch notes, the update that added official mod support updated ray tracing and shaders and that's what broke models.

Some of the mods are incompatible. Your best bet is to disable all mods from before and re-enable them one at a time until you get an error.

Hey guys... Apparently my pc can handle the game but not the creators kit. So I want to ask if anyone can make a mod to make every uniform set that only have capri pants to have trousers to go with the blazer as well. More especificaly the prefect set, the embroidered set and the diamond class set. Only these don't have a longer pants version, all the others have. Also, If someone could make the pants for these uniforms the house color, it will be way better.

Try resetting your keybinds.

If there's no option for that (I don't remember if there is), press Windows key + R, enter %LOCALAPPDATA%, go to Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and delete input.ini so the game can regenerate the file next time you launch.
It was a common issue when they added Photo Mode.

Guys, I have a question, I have a bunch of pc mods installed but for some reason some original spells unable to be done, like Accio with the flying pages, and Lumos with the butterfly mission in the beginning of the story. My Accio worked but the spells is deflected when it hit the pages(akin to when you accio-ed rapidly flying compartments in the keepers' task), so I am unable to complete Ronen's task, and my Lumos worked, just that the butterfly flies erratically on the wall and not attracted by my lumos

I was just wondering whether the reason for this is overlap spell mods, or smthing..., cause I tried uninstalled the spells mods but the same still occurs..., like "unlock all spells", & mods involved adding more in-game spells

Hi all, I've played RedM before in where people make mods/scripts and create multiple players servers where the world is dynamic and the economy based on players. The houses are put in the world, and everyone have different jobs and role play a lot. I was wondering if anything like that exists here? The whole idea of role playing, each person having their own house out in the world and be able to create stores for other players to buy crafted items sounds absolutely amazing and an impressive opportunity to role play

Just a heads up to any1 using the mod "shattered veil" I think it was called, It stops u from getting the mail ur meant to get from professor fig after hogsmeade which means u can't progress unless u turn the mod off

Is there a way to use mods on nexus? The number of mods they approve in a day is so low that there are not many people who make mods left. The best hair and face models are still on nexus. I don't understand why they did something like this. The game has literally gone backwards.

@olive nimbus try going to your files and go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy and delete everything thats where your game settings and save games are stored you'll lose you're save but if you have cloud save active or make a backup you should be fine to get it back

hey guys, I'm not too experienced with modding. but before the in-game menu for mods was released, I had some mods from nexusmods that I used in game. I had to uninstall everything in order to actually play because this thing kept popping up.

There are a couple of outside mods that apparently work, but most things for like cosmetics as far as I know are incompatible if they are not Curseforge mods.

Those types of mods (models) were broken by the update that added official mod support. The only way for them to work again is for the mod authors to remake them using the official Creator Kit.

The full size is 500 GB and it also requires 32 GB of RAM.
You also can't port other people's mods yourself since the Creator Kit stupidly only allows finished mods to be uploaded to CurseForge and not store the locally, so you'd potentially be committing copyright infringement, depending on how original the assets are.

A lot of the nexus cosmetic mods are on the supported mod list in the game. More being added everyday. I've been working on a lot of outfit and head preset projects going to the mods in game so check them out! Or you can can downgrade your game to continue to use nexus mods recommend doing some research prior to doing this to make sure it's done right

When a mod is either updated or you add a new one to your game, it's best to restart the game after enabling any new mods & especially if one has been updated. All mods with an update will pop up with a box that tells you to restart the game for the update to take effect. If it's stuck on the load screen, uninstall all the mods, restart the game & add them back one at a time. Sometimes it's just one mod that will freeze the game & one must find which mod it is. Once the problematic mod is found, let the author of it know that it has an issue to where it locks your game up so they can fix it. I know mine got stuck on the load screen due to one of my own mods having an issue with it & I fixed my mod to where it would work. Next time I started the game? My mod loaded with no issues.

Hi, I’ve been playing since the game came out but, new to the mod change. I’ve downloaded a couple “appearance” mods. The description says it adds 10 new complexions and non-replacing but I can’t find them anywhere. I double checked to make sure I had them enabled too

For complexions, I think you'd have to have the character editor mod as well to get to those or make a new character. Using the character editor is easier.

I just figured out whats causing my problem. One of the ways I tried to fix my issue was to delete everything in the mods folder via the steam files but for some reason the mods folder is now gone. I've tried replacing that mod folder with backup game files but it doesn't work. Is there a way to bring back the original mods folder in the steam files?

I also cant verify the integrity of the game files because the game doesn't need the mods folder to work. Verifying game files only brings back neccessary files and folders for the game to work properly

So going to “enable mods”

I ran into this a lot too, after updating or installing new mods to an existing save. Its not consistent and sometimes when I restart it works, other times it doesn't. What's been working for me is copying my old save and removing all mods from it. Then, I restart and put all the mods I want on the new copy (update them first). Then I restarted again and now it works, but again, it doesn't seem consistent. I still had to restart a bunch but eventually that worked. It shouldn't be like this!!😭

I recommend disabling all the mods save the changes and then add them back and when you save changes do save and continue if this does not work I can find the link to what I had to do when the update first came out to get it work. Thankfully I only had to do that once but I do have to remove and add my mods back on quite often since the most recent update.

If you're deleting the mods from the game folders there's like 3 places to remove them from and you also remove a file that will reset the modding tutorial so it'll kinda make it like you've not used the mods yet. He also has hair mods with high download rates on Nexus. Is it possible to transfer these kinds of mods to the mod app in the game? The weird thing is I deleted the mods on Phoenix folder and they were still on my game

This fix removes them from game but does not uninstall them. Also try enabling one mod at a time or even playing with a new modded save. I've found that some mods cause this problem.

I started a new modded save just yesterday, and after fixing some texture issues (one of the users here was helping me) I ran into a problem of not being able to loot some chest as the game tells me 'my gear slots are full'. yeah you can do it by hex editing the executable

if it works the same way

i use it to have german subtitles and english voices

but i imagine it should work the same

just won´t work in the pre-rendered cutscenes

you select the language in steam
like spanish for spanish voices
and then when done you open the executable in hex editor
go to "es-ES...spanish" and then change the es-ES to en-US
that should keep the spanish voices but change the subtitles to english

so it should look like en-US...spanish

you will have to do it each time a patch comes out
but once you know, it´s easy enough

Hi there, new here, I finally got around to checking out the mods ingame because I made my first ever character before they added the paler skin options, I 100%ed the game before those new options were ever even added, I've been wanting to change it ever since and I thought the mods would be a great way to do it but it unfortunately seems like the only way to play with the character changer mod is by copying your main save file into a seperate "modded" playthrough, so my main character is still stuck with the wrong skin tone

Is there any way around this? I'm really unsure, would installing the character changer mod manually without the official workshop maybe do the trick?

I started a whole new playthrough with the correct skintone the other month but 100%ing the game just felt tedious for something that should be doable with mods or editing game files somehow

Hi I'm struggling with something, so I started a new modded save. Everything is working fine till I start heading to hogsmead with natty. Now half of hogwarts is visually gone except for windows and doors when near first lacewings and second of all, I can't see my forbidden forest.. any idea what this is?

Prolly performance stuff. It doesn't render so that you can have better graphics in Hogsmeade etc. Essentially it allows less stuff to need to be used to enhance performance. (Bad explanation, but that's sort of the idea I think).

So I did notice that when I closer to glitched areas it would render through.. my old unmodded would be visually fine and maintain everything but no matter if I do performance or quality settings, it just won't stabilise till I'm near affected areas

It might be a combination of mods. The only mods that generally cause me loading issues are almost always the dungeons. I'd remove all of those, make sure the game starts, then add back the dungeons one by one.

I'm trying to 100% the game on Steam, ran into the issue of NOT having the moth spawn near the sphinx in the bell tower section. This issue was first reported in 2023 and people are still having the same bug in 2025.

That was a headache for me as well. I had to save and reload many times to get that moth. Also, the revelio pages for 2 of my games are stuck at numbering 148/150 for two of my games. Yes, I played all 4 houses to completion ... 40.

My complaint with the mods as that I only loaded a "unsactioned" Nexus mods over a year ago just to change my characters name. Now, occasionally I get that pesky unsanctioned notice ... I had named my character Andora Moon. Well, Mr. Moon, and your demiguise statues spoiled that name for me. As my character was an English "Moon" not Korean. And, well, Isadora was not very popular.

I really do not know how I did it. I think I just got lucky to be honest.

I will say that my Field Guide Pages still only show 148/150 for the Hogwarts Castle for the Gryffindor game. And, for my Hufflepuff game it shows 149/150.

And, I know I collected them all ... I downloaded the Field Guide Page finder Nexus mod (a long time ago) and it showed me which ones were "bugged". Then I removed the mod as I really did not need it.

The same area for both games are the bugged ones. The Bell Tower Courtyard where the phoenix flame field guide page was located, and the Gregory the Smarmy in Central Hall. The Revelio page is recorded in the collection but it is not counted in the numbers on the map.

I think when I downloaded the field guide page finder from Nexus mods that is when the moth finally showed up on Gryffindor game.

With IGN website one does not need any of the mods to find things.

So, hopefully, in the next DLC or Hogwarts 2 Legacy we can actually pretend to lay down on a bed and sleep or even sit down. It would have been nice to sit down with the ladies in Irondale on their picnic blanket.

I have a problem. My game no longer launches. It only started doing that after I installed mods. It first initially crashed a couple of times. then it worked. Then it crashes when you change anything with the mods at all. And then it finally just bricked to not launching. I was using the in-game provided curseforge mods

What should I do when my mods stop working after I installed one? I've uninstalled the mod, and done a clean install of legacy. But my mods aren't working anymore.

Uninstall all of the mods & add them back one at a time. One of them is causing issues & finding the problem one is essential. Whichever one is causing it, do let the author of it know so they can try to fix it. Sometimes it's the mod itself, sometimes it's how the mod got cooked & other times the file gets corrupted in between play sessions, which isn't nice either. 😥
