Yeah, I know it may be a trope, but I had good story reasons as to why he started doing this.
I believe you! XD
I’m actually making a story around my character in game. Just focusing on Rookwood and characters in Slytherin house. Changing up some things a bit
Yes and No, its a mix of families there to ride the rides with minimal knowledge, and people like my sister who cry whenever they see the Hogsmeade sign.
Same, tbh I use the plants more than I do the potions! Hahaha
I’d definitely dress up if I went
Sebastian my beloved :3
I also barely used potions! XD
I would say dress up as a generic wizard, there are people who dress up as characters who are asked to leave because people want to take pictures with Snape and Dumbledore, lol
The only time I would remember they existed was in troll fights where they were 5+ my level.
Me who goes to a Renaissance Fair almost every year XDD
Oh yea I’d just go as a Slytherin student
I work at a Fantasy Immersion Park so I understand the feel!
I did that once, with a gray and green striped bow tie so it wasnt too similar to the movies 🤣
Are you UK? Cause by me in the US, specifically my state, we don’t have anything fun
I am actually from Utah where most of the game development took place, and the park I work at is about an hour south from Avalanche Headquarters.
Oh so you’re in a pretty busy area
For nerdy stuff at least, yeah! Lol
I’m FAR across the east coast so there’s nothing
Okay, I have heard Maryland Ren Faire is pretty big!
I went to school in Virginia so I heard about it … but never had time to go.
I swear to jesus this spider side quest has some serious jumpscares
For realllll
Mary Portman is a psychopath
Absolutely XDDD
I was rolling to the destination and out of nowhere come 4 big ahhh spiders
Aaaaa
Like even if you don’t have Arachnophobia
They are TERRIFYING XD
I was so caught off guard I missplaced my 1 hit spell
Ooffffff
I know but they obviously want to use the all Dark arts for combat but they'll have to let him off if they want it. Game won't let em have it both ways
Unless you learn it before you turn him in.
Like you can learn it right after he kills Solomon and then turn him in later
I assume anyway. Cos you speak to Ominis bout it afterward and can say to turn him in there.
The true evil path in the game
You can learn the spell, you don't have to use the spell
though most are intending to use it if they learn it
I think it's simply just more dramatic if you don't use or learn them XDDD
Especially for the Crucio scene XD
well i didnt do it for first run
Fair!!!
next run i learn them to use in combat cos they are useful especially when buffed
then i go full on a-hole mod in 3rd run and use them when i learn them
I plan on using a controller if I decide to play it again XDDD
though ur a still treated as a hero even then granted you did stop the evil goblin from trying to destroy the WW
I was on normal mode AND keyboard, I like to think it was pretty strong of me XDD
Lol my Ravenclaw lass refused to learn any. It’s not in her character
She also repeatedly told Seb to stop and that he was going too far
My Hufflepuff did too!
Yah i tried to sway him after i learned the dark relic needs a sacrifice.
Except for the relic..but then she decided what she encouraged was the wrong thing to do and felt regret for it XD
I was holding out for a cure via ancient magic though i was like its probably not a thing at all. Then when dark sacrifice came up im like, nope.
Seb: "can you ask your so called Keepers?"
MC: sure!
[We never get to]
They wouldn't tell ya anyway and I don't think the spell works like that anyway
assuming they even know the spell themselves.
We don't really know regardless, there could be one from ancient times that would work, and be safer
But we have no idea XD
If dark sacrifice was like cut off ur arm for the cure, then ok, horrible but we have magic to just make a new arm and seb would be fine with that.
hell he's fine with any sacrifice, which is the issue, but odds are its something like kill a loved one first then you get the cure
and thats assuming the cure is even a thing and not BS
Yeah he kinda goes straight to the ULTIMATE kind XD
Also i dunno inferi control ties into curing dark magic
that gave me doubts bout the object too
Plus Inferi is also technically a sacrifice
Those were actually people before X'D
hmm, so maybe its kill loved one or friend and turn them into inferi
Possibly!
That's scary to think about, given how strongly Loyal I was to him dksnsnsns
Hmm
I have liked to make Inferi ourselves or control them in a dark run
Like lets go full on dark wizard/witch for the hell of it
game doesn't let you though
Imagine being a dark w and have an army of dark creatures at your disposal or the oppposite and be a good w and have army of non-dark beasts at your disposal
Dark Beast masters would do great with an army of Swooping Evils, if they were in the game XD
oh yah. heck both sides could use them
It would be interesting to have the ability like in Fable or iirc Skyrim. Choices really depend on what moral standing you're on.
So I read an early choice in the game affects the ending? Is that true?
Or is it just the main choices regarding Seb and the one you get from Fig in the final respository?
Nothing you do in the game affects the ending.
The only real consequences of your actions is whether or not Sebastian is hanging out in the Undercroft or whether or not your character has a creepy smile for 5 seconds before you fight Ranrok.
Well minus the Fig choice at the final battle.
That also has no affect on the ending.
Like keep contained or absorb, may come into play in dlc or a sequel
There are no multiple endings, there’s just one ending that plays out with the most minor of differences.
and given the effect had it had on Isadora we can imagine the aftermath of it.
The Final Repository choice only affects what cutscene you get after the fight with Ranrok.
Cutscene A or B lol
Hmm yah it sucks. Should have gotten more endings
Frankly, Mass Effect 3 had more impactful endings than this game did.
well you'll never know which ending is canon probably
unless they pick one for ME4 to use or just give you the choice to pick the ending you want as canon for ME4 to follow from
I wonder if you could make gloves and a cloak out Ranroks dragon hide?
Well he seems kinda metallic and reverts back into his goblin form sooooo I would guess no
Annoying Goblin if he's going to turn it into a dragon he could at leas stay that way so his hides useful
Oh man. I think I missed my chance to learn the killing curse! I thought he’d say something else!
u didnt
there is still a chance to learn it, but I missed it my self, now im trying to revert the save file 🥹
If you don't turn Sebastian in at the end of his quest, he'll teach you any curses you haven't learned in the Undercroft.
does he gets to stay in the undercroft when he gets turned in?
No, he gets arrested off screen and that's it.
That is literally so weird. I was also confused when I first played and nothing happened later on. I feel like there were things that were cut! I couldnt explain it otherwise
I let him teach me all of the curses and then turned him in, after that. 🌚
Yeah to me it is pretty obvious they cut out a big chunk of story due to time constraints
I am convinced the whole “using ancient magic to remove pain” was going to be a pivotal part in helping “cure” Seb’s sister curse
Also they went on on "so with this trial that nearly killed you you know understand why you shouldn't use it"
and I was like "eh, the pensieves did, but I still don't know what the other stuff was about, also if I die I already grabbed half of your stuff and your plan wouldn't work anymore with someone else "
Didnt they say they had to "prepare" the next trial. I know that is to make u wait and do other stuff, but maybe that means that u arent the first one who has tried? Or that they can somehow reset the trials from their portraits? Even tho i havent seen their portraits in the trial rooms
I also have only played it once so far, so i might be forgetting where they said we're the first one to try
drives me crazy that we dont actually help anne, the story ends soo abruptly with no real outcome
story feels so unfinished and so unrewarding
The outcome is that there is no cure for anne
So much this. I hope this gets addressed in a future DLC
also messes with my head that this is completely under the castle during HP times, and obviously is never talked about, or lorewise mentioned ever....
like if the story goes, how often are there ancient magic carriers
who is after us, i hope DLC shows more of us in the depository
Yea, Anne destroying the book and therefore any possibility of a cure just doesnt really feel like an ending. Sebastian definitely wouldnt have let it been the end
Feel like Sebastian would've kept looking
Would've liked the ending more if they killed Solomon and that that saved Anne. But i get why they did it like this, now there is room for a sequel to this story line (whether in a major update, dlc or a new game)
who was the guy who died at the start by the dragon? like whats his name?
George?
omg yes tysm!
You saved me! I went and learned it, thank you!!
Also, can I just say how much I love that Ominis doesn’t look at you when speaking to you? Like it would have been easy to just animate him the same as anyone else and just say he’s blind.
Guys im literally so upset rn.
Sebastian knew the imperius curse for a while but ugh...had he stuck around going on more adventures with the MC, he totally could have had the opportunity to imperio rookwood and help his sister omg
Why would killing Solomon save Anne
I accidentally got the spoiler that Solomon was gonna be killed by Sebastian, so i thought that he would kill his uncle to save his sister. A sacrifice for the cure kinda thing
I love how an option is to essentially hand Sebastian a life sentence in azkaban at 15/16 for misguided use of dark magic 🥲
Solomon yelling didnt help much tbh
it wouldn’t make sense tho since solomon also wants a cure for Anne just that he gave up already
Yea, it was just what i thought before i came to that part of the story
ok
Yeah, I was prepared to make someone a sacrifice to save Anne, but Solomon had to ruin that. >:[
I was a little worried when Sebastian sent us the owl to meet him and Anne that we were the sacrifice
Sameee😂
He’d maybe do it if meant curing her
I would even accept it hell
Lol that would have been interesting. Bc we don't actually ever figure out what the "dark sacrifice" actually is (do we?)
I don't think we do! It's all assumptions at this point (and I guess forever after, since it's been destroyed). My thought process was 1) always assume the worst and plan for it (especially with dark magic), 2) there are (dead?) bodies on each corner of the relic that appear to be... holding hands? and 3) when Seb tries to use it (not in front of my game and can't find an image of the letter we get sent to confirm the exact circumstances), its basic function raises inferi. Good thing Grindewald never found it, since iirc he wanted a little inferius army as a treat
@coral edge You get a mount in several different ocassions. One is a broom which you unlock pretty early in the game. Afterwards goes the hippogriff which you get by completing some story quests with Poppy where u save one and u get it. And afterwards, there is a suprise for a third one ;D
alright thanks! i already got the broom i just really want an animal lol
around how long will i be until i get the quest for the hippogriff?
(i just did the first trial btw)
I get it, i loved when i got my hippogriff, and u just gotta keep an eye out on poppys quests. im not sure which one it is but just keep an eye out on her and eventually it will be available.
alright thanks have a good one
and just keep doing them, since its like a side story/relationship, it gradually gets to it
mkkk
I assume Seb would have known what the actual dark sacrifice would have been before he started using the relic. And since he didn't bring anyone else to the crypt with him, the only person who was there to sacrifice was himself. Potential theory: the sacrifice was either the life or the soul of the relic's wielder 👀
That is sad T.T
woof. all options: accio depression
And if the sacrifice was, in fact, that it would corrupt and ultimately take over the soul of the wielder, it would be in line with why Seb's became more unhinged over time - under the theory that the relic itself was beginning to infect his soul
I was happier being angry at him for maybe planning to kill me ;.; this is too good, thank you for putting it in my head
Happy to help lmao
Just beat ravenclaw main story
Sadly it's all the main story. The only difference between the houses is your color scheme and one singular quest in the game.
Ah, well I still have the side quests and stuff
But I thought hufflepuff had a longer story than all the other houses
No they all are pretty much the same besides 1 quest
I wager its something like kill a loved one or friend or an innocent, and maybe after make them an inferi though I assume the former is the sacrifice. And then you may or may not get the cure assuming that part isn't BS
Solomon’s an idiot ngl
He’s an effing adult, he should’ve behaved like one
I put him to azkaban partially because of this, I expected to get the killing curse anyway, because it is hard to code many different story paths
but now I cant get it anymore 🥹
“effing” adult 🤣
He has no wife, nor children. I’m not sure he’s really "effing"
No wonder he’s such a sourpuss
I swear George getting eaten and thestrals appearing after was lowkey the hardest opening for the game especially to those who knows why they show up
Why did they show up??
I remember back before launch everyone speculating why we could see Thestrals and who’s death we saw.
The booting up the game and not seeing the thestrals in the cutscenes until after George died and being like
“Oh damn..l thats why we can see them 🙃”
Yeah, George did got eaten by that dragon right in front of us.
i had a bug on the final cutscene, when professor black was talking there was a student walking on his lil podium thingy
Bro is
Thestrals only appear when you’ve witnessed death
Thats possible
??
At the end of his story, you have an option to turn him in for the use of dark magic. It’s the only choice in the game with any real consequences.
yeah I asked cus I just wanted to learn the spells and not turn him jn
You learning the spells and turning him in are two separate things. That being said, if you don’t know all the curses by the time you can turn him in, you won’t be able to learn them.
My fav sidequest is the one where you kill the husband which turned into an inferi (:
It was her brother, not her husband
I thought I wouldnt learn them if id say something other than "everybody should know"
Brother then... was still pretty funny to me
If you don’t know the curses and you let Sebastian go, he’ll teach them to you in the Undercroft.
worth playing after killing ranrok? or should I switch houses and do new main quests
Hi
New?
Finish the house cup or whatever it is. Then change
Those who turned Sebastian in are just outright animals
or have other reasons? The two main reasons I could see:
- Sebastian is not going to stop. He himself tells you he "had to do it". Why would he stop afterwards? Even when you talk to him in the undercroft, he still says "you know I had to do it". You also possess a power that, in his eyes, could possibly cure Anne. At which point is he going to turn against you to try to force you to cure Anne, regardless of what you actually can do? And how could you know you're not the next? He literally tells you he is not going to stop.
- I don't see a reason not to keep the ancient magic repository secret for now. As such, why would I leave Sebastian, the only person alive who saw some memories, free of Azkaban? He is my only weak link, so why would I keep him where he can blackmail me, instead of either requiring an unbreakable vow or sending him where they will be taken as divagations?
Hey! during Jackdaws quest, ravenclaws should help Olivander find the wand, next to Jackdaws body, but Im standing right on it - I see his wand, tho not sure (why do we never go back to give him the wand back?) At the end of the game I found out that Olivander actually thanks us for helping finding it but the whole game I was confised I missed thisd important thingy
did I really miss it? Or it's just not mentioned?
If I remember correctly, you do go back to him to give it back afterwards, but I might be mistaken...
oke I'll just continue out of the Tomb and will see maybe I don;t remember either 😛
You can go back to Olivander’s after (you can actually go before and talk to him like you finished Jackdaws Tomb lol) and inform him that the wand was completely broken
But you can’t pick it up or anything, it’s completely broken and impossible to fix
it';s weird it's not mentioned when I'm right at the body, left me confused for the 2nd time 🙂 cheers!
I can see where you’re coming from. However, one trait that Sebastian consistently exhibits throughout the story is devotion. Specifically toward those who stand by him. He’s always concerned about Ominis as well as your character. He even takes the fall for you on numerous occasions and arguably helps you the most throughout the story and your main quest.
While engulfed with finding a cure for his sister, he still does things outside of finding that cure. He befriended you in defense against the dark arts without knowing your secret regarding ancient magic. Basically was that student who helps out the new kid in school, getting nothing in return but a friend.
Our character chooses to help him with his sister and get embroiled in that situation. Some argue he was impulsive. But he knew a great amount of what he was dealing with. Always did research before acting on it. He never used the Dark Arts recklessly. His worst act was killing his uncle. But the uncle:
A: Refused to help Anne, even if it was to relieve some pain through natural remedies.
B: Tried to kill us in the catacombs. Instead of fighting the Inferi, he targeted his nephew and his friend. Also, the uncle acted impulsively by destroying the artifact, prompting the inferi to attack in the first place.
I just redid that fight. Solomon's spells were solely levioso until hurt severly (first health bar, he used only levioso). so no, he was attacking mostly to incapacitate, and pretty sure Sebastian attacked him first. I would also consider the inferii a negligible threat.
The uncle didn't act impulsively imo. The relic was clearly impacting Sebastian, as said by both him afterwards, but also Ominis and Anne. On top of that, the chances of the relic actually working are tenuous, and the relic wouldn't even let Sebastian break the curse, only control it while in the catacombs (He says the relic only works there, and also that it cannot break the curse but can control it).
"Never used the dark arts recklessly". On top of using Imperio to protect his sister when any other spell would have worked as well, in full view of basically the entire village, he controlled dozens of inferii near a village losely enough for them to attack his friends. Said inferii were further from the village, if free at all, before he did it. His research was 100% based on the words of a guy known for his cunning and manipulativeness, who told him the relic would do something else than it did. Worse, the entire idea of the relic never included what Sebastian said it did.
Sebastian tells you the relic can cure Dark magic, while non of the documents he produces or you find say it.
Sebastian had to use/feel the cruciatus curse in this quest, on his friend, and his conclusion to that was "I will never stop trying to find a cure". This clearly includes eliminating all he perceives as in his path.
I mean, levitating me above a bunch of Inferi and dropping me down to be clawed to death seems like he wanted to kill me…
The uncle destroying the relic WAS impulsive since he himself didn’t even know what would happen once it was gone (as we can see, it backfired and caused all the Inferi to attack).
Imperio was called for in that situation. He used it to protect someone. If Sebastian hadn’t protected his sister, the Goblin would’ve killed her. Didn’t see the uncle saving her.
Crucio had to be used to leave the chamber. He was willing to have it casted on him (which I obviously refused).
I hope you also refused all the curses he taught you given your standpoint…
Also, he wasn’t gonna do anything to you. That’s why he went to the catacombs ALONE without telling anyone. He had the integrity to do everything himself.
I did go back straight to Olivander after completing the quest, and there is no dialog options - guess the only time you find out what happened to his wand is later in the game as I remember.
@deep cypress our bud is under attack once again!
Yup, refused all of the curses, based on the very common theme in HP that dark magic actually slowly make you loose your sanity. That's the point, using dark magic is by definition a slippery slope in the universe.
Also, Imperio was clearly uncalled for/not the best move, as any other spell would have worked there (levioso, glacius, confringo, diffindo, expelliarmus,... would all have worked. glacius is even faster to cast).
But yeah, the uncle was slightly unhinged, though I could understand why he would be, what with having a nephew intent on breaking the law every time and manipulating inferii. I don't see what he realistically could have done after having to fight through inferii all the way.
Also, the inferii are actually fairly harmless during this fight. The only reason you will die if you don't attack him is that sebastian keeps fighting continuously.
** H E R E S Y????!!! **
But we probably are not going to convince one another, regardless ^^
The uncle had a meltdown when Sebastian literally gave Anne a natural remedy….
This is uncalled for. This is ludicrous!
Goody goody Ravenclaw not learning any proper curses and backstabbing one of his friends. Vile.
My Ravenclaw lass refused to learn them and made it known she didn’t approve of the oath he was on and sided with Ominis but still gave him a second chance.
do you have to side with Seb to learn Avada Kedavra?
I was quite sad we could not properly side with Ominis. Like ominis asks us to tell him about it, but if we try to, we cannot discuss the owl from Sebastian
Don’t tell him. Let him make his own choices
No
You can still learn it even if you went against him the whole time.
But if you send him to Azkaban and didn’t learn it during his questline before then you can’t ever learn it
NO!
Thats Evil. I like it
Ravenclaws damn it!
Stop being so niiiiice
But I am niiicceeee (I think?)
I already finished it all once - now trying to find out why I missed learning Avada Kedavra - I sided with ominis but didn;t give Seb out
No thoughts only KNOWLEDGE
You are. Very sad when not helping is funny but I suppose you doing good so pat pat
Another coward. Betraying poor Sebastian.
At least he didnt put seb in azkaban
make it clear - what you mean by siding with ominis? 😄
Siding with ominis is fine but putting Sebastian in prison isn’t
yeaaaah....like...I was seeing Tom' alike being created...
should you just go "eeh...sure, go with it..."
Siding with Ominis in everything but sending Seb to jail.
Because sad Ominis is too much and my poor lore filled heart can’t take it
Yes and Sebastian is baby and must be protected
boom, thank you
Ok I just like him as a friend but yes! Protected!
Nah Tom hella selfish Sebastian did all of it for his sister
Seb and Ominis are both baby and I must protecc
Sebastian also did a lot himself. He didn’t put others in danger knowingly
yeah but...no matter reasons I didn;t know where he would end up...
Yessss
True. If his uncle was better at communicating all could probably have been prevented
didn't want to see Sebastian go down because I let his evil side loose or smth
If the Uncle didn’t destroy EVERYTHING Sebastian brought, maybe he wouldn’t need to turn to the dark arts to help Anne
Yes but you condemned him to a fate worse than death at Azkaban. One of the first friends you meet at Hogwarts. The one who takes you under his wing without a second thought. Disgraceful.
Factsssss. I absolutely get his uncles side but he sucked at communicating and just said “no” to anything no wonder Sebastian went to the dark arts
tbh...the story is one of my least meaningful aspect in this game -
I didn't put him in Azkaban! 😄
Oh. Good. Then we’re friends!
Good job
so yeah...at which point did I miss learning Avada Kedavra?
You can learn from Seb in the undercroft if you initially denied
He asks after his uncle appears when you agree that everyone should learn it
As a pure heart gryffindor, I threw Seb right under the bus. I'm on my Slytherin playthrough now, however....so we're by any means necessary from here on out
Larry...
I have lost respect for you and I have just met you!
He crossed a line, I'm sorry!
Throwing our fellow Sebastian under the bus. After he took you under his wing.
Oh no, I'm a Poppy Sweeting stan.
Oh I may just vomit.
Typical Slytherin
Yes. Loyal to our friends, very typical of us.
(Kidding, but I mean, it was a true Lawful Good playthrough)
I honestly don't get the fuss about Poppy. She's nice, but I'm not on the bandwagon of people who really like her lol
Turning Sebastian in. Making him rot away in a prison that is far worse than death. All because he wanted to cure his sister. Disappointed. -100 points from Gryffindor!
It was her absolutely insane grin when the dragon got free that made me love her haha
That's fair. It would be the most faithful to the law thing to do
I want to have a good answer but thankfully it's hard to do
Oh what has the law done for Wizard Kind!?
Even though I kind of get the impression the law in this world sucks lol
Wow, incredible back to back messages lol
Same ranking
Amit nowhere to be found
Yea he was forgotten about after his 5 minute debut
I'll explore his role a bit more in my ravenclaw playthrough, but yeah, pretty annoying guy lol
I like him for comic relief
I'm honestly a huge fan of Imelda Reyes role in the game
The one Ravenclaw who gives you those tests... Had I known the killing curse sooner, I'd know who my first target would be. Victor Rookwood took that one evidently.
The one thing Amit had going for him besides astronomy is that he was supposedly good at speaking gobbledegook. That was his moment to shine and he couldn't even pull that off. Like come on... you had one job here. Just one lol
He's a book nerd, couldn't be brave. But I mean, goblins are mean as hell, I get it. I just wish he didn't do NOTHING for the MC
I remember meeting him and thinking "Yeah, I don't want to see this guy again, no offense"
Non-controversial opinion: for a game that put so much stock into companions, I'm surprised they didn't invest in a companion system. I would love for that to be a priority for any updates - a system where you could roam around with companions and interact with them
Thankfully mods are on the come up.
Idk how realistic that is as an official release, bc it would require more voice lines and whatnot, but would be nice
That exists now through Nexus
I guess all side characters were planned to have more impact on the story, and they had to cut a lot, so Amit basically only had one mission left over
Sure!
Dont be sorry,so many of us did the right thing~
@crimson shuttle
natsai asks u to come along to meet her mother so she would scold her less right?
have u finished that part?
Funny. Saved the entire wizarding world by destroying enemies like goblins and inferi without any curses...so Seb could have done so w.o them.
i think so, do you know the name of this specific quest?
after that quest it takes some time for natsai to contact u again
yeah, but i have nothing to do, and she and her mother already standing together in front of the room
and if i stand infront if them she judt says "its so frustrating" xDDD
leave the area
they obviously wont contact u if u keep staring at them like a lunatic
they're gonna slap u with a restraining order if u dont leave
so fast travel to hogsmeade or dark forest then wait a few times
i hate it, i have 98% and just want to get the 100% xD
LOL they told you,it's so frustrating that you keep standing there.
thank you for your help, will try that @crimson shuttle
happy to keep u out of jail
xD
giveee me the quesssstttttt!!!!

And your icon..is it a blk rabbit.. ? I thought it was a crow mixed w.a niffler...omg I have to draw that now
its a cat Sadge
I heard this in a "give me the knife" Eddie Murphey tone from. Golden child lool [ifyoureoldenoughorlikeretrofilmslmao]
..ig I see it now,a tilted cat head ahha. Ok anyway ! Back to story stuff lol
what option is the 'evil' one in the ending
ive already had spoilers on de 'good' ending and wanna see something new
Uhm well...I guess .are you just flat out asking what sentence to choose to get it? Because I mean if you talk about wanting the power etc It becomes pretty obvious which ending you'll get ;0 if you don't want to play through it,you can deff look it up on youtube "all endings" they vary but it isn't as wild of a difference tbh ahaha
aah thank u!
should i turn in sebastian
did you learn all the curses you want to learn
Snitches get stitches lol
if so, do whatever you want
It effects dialogue options later, but I'd just go with whatever kind of person you're roleplaying your character as would do
But objectively: no, you should not turn in Sebastian lol
Objectively, it depends on your values and shrewdness. You shouldn’t turn him in for the sake of turning him in, nor for punition, as Azkaban is too great a punition.
If something is objective, it by definition doesn't depend on the values that a particular person holds
Should we delve deep into the objectivisation of subjective thought?
My point was merely that the best thing is not unique. There are arguments in favor of sending Sebastian to Azkaban and some in favor of not sending him.
In practice, the best thing to do for a player is feel like they took the right decision.
This feeling will come from them behaving in line with their values, hence the objective best thing to do is to act in line with your values.
That doesn’t mean that said action will be the same for everyone, but the best thing to do can be different for everyone while staying objective, simply because everyone’s understanding of it will differ.
As their understanding and vision of it is the only thing that matters (this has no bearing on the world), the objective best thing to do is to take a decision they are comfortable with.
Apparently take the biscuit was finally fixed
yup, need to test it tomorrow
I'm bugged by the fact that we didn't learn to "take people's pain" to help cure Anne
That family is more offended about dark magic than it cares about what happened to that girl
Or maybe I'm too dense to empathize with their thinking
That takes emotional pain
Not a curse that causes physical pain
So there’s no saying if it would even work
See, I suspected all of that as I watched the story unfold, but I guess I still refuse it lol I'm such a sucker for a happy ending
Besides we dont know the exact details of the curse yet
Anne says the pain comes in bouts, but where? how often? in what form? u cant counter a curse if you dont know the specifics
Should we delve deep into the objectivisation of subjective thought?
No, I don't think there is an argument the other way as to the meaning of the word to have an extensive discussion on. "Objective" by definition means not influenced by personal interpretations. Therefore, whether something is objective doesn't depend on individual perspective or understanding. You could take the position that "there isn't an objectively right answer" but it wouldn't be accurate to say "objectively, it depends on your values"
I agree that when it comes to gameplay, player should do what they feel is best. That's why I said "I'd go with whatever kind of person you're roleplaying your character as would do." When it comes to what I think is actually the best decision as far as the world itself goes, I would say: let the boy go!
hence my point:
The objective best thing to do is have fun.
Hence, the objective best thing to do is subjective in itself.
That isn't the portion of your comments that I disagreed with. As I said, I agree that from a gameplay perspective that people should have fun. I also agree that there's arguments in favor of both decisions. I think the devs did a great job with actually making it a hard moral decision!
With Take the Biscuit fixed so that the cage is interact-able now... is it just Biscuit's cage? Or is it all cages? Cause I don't think I'm the only one that's noticed they can't save a creature from a cage that has previously been unlocked... and I've had at least 1 I unlocked the cage for, but didn't bother leaving the cage... 🤔
I'm hearing that not everyone got 3 options regarding the repository. Does anyone know why that is? Apparently most people only had the options to open it or keep it closed, but I had a third option to "take it for myself"
Open is taking it for yourself.
The first option is the seal it one.
The other two options are essentially the sane thing, to open it. The only difference is the dialogue you say, whether you keep it for yourself if you want to “share it”
So it’s
Option A
Or
Option B
Or
Option B (but you’re a little more selfish)
I assumed so, but I was wondering what I did to bring a third option into play. Other play throughs I've seen only have 2
Huh I think it always gives the three options?
Nope. You can check on YT, there's plenty times where people only get two
I assumed it might be because I was particularly mean in my playthru but I don't actually know
I've actually delayed playing the final repository cause 1. I don't feel ready. And 2. I'm super indecisive.
Some thought it could be due to unlocking all of the curses, but I've seen people say they got 3 options without unlocking the killing curse
A mystery indeed
I didn’t learn any of the curses and I got all 3
I am confusion
I heard some guy say Diagon Alley was in the game I just laughed it's hogsmeade dude get it right
anyone need help with anything hogwarts legacy related
Amateur.
I need help. What's your expertise and fixes?
I happen to be a genius as well
@stiff whale We don't discuss mods in this server. 🙂
Fair enough... I was partially joking anyway, going off his username there... 😅
Did i just hear scrope say that his family members were beheaded by the black family?????
yeah, the Blacks, like many pure blood families, are not well adjusted / have inbreeding bad-brain and their elves have stockholme syndrome lol
Same with Deek Fr
but yeah, it's from the books. 12 Grimmauld Place becomes the Black Family Home at some point and it's got a row of house-elf heads along the stairs iirc
well that's sickening if so
I kinda it's wrong how Isabella and sabastian treated
While the 4 teacher used unforgettable curse
And others didn't say anything
Well it wasn't illegal then and different situation, 1 was a legit threat and insane and not gonna stop. The other was murder of an innocent man trying to his nephew going down a path of ruin
- Unforgivables weren’t unlawful at the time.
- Isidora was literally removing emotions from people. The notion of suffering/harshness being needed to have good times is repeated many many times.
- San Bakar used the AK to be able to save Niamh, on someone he saw as absolutely evil with dictatorship tendancies. You can see how disturbed he is, and it is not clear that, even together, they would have beaten Isidora with how much magic she has ingested at that point. Plus she is not behaving normally.
- Solomon was killed by the AK when already getting beaten quite severly.
But yeah, the issue with Isidora is that, according to her journal entries, she knew the consequences. But she got drunk with the power within these emotions.
If you re-read her journal entries, you can see it goes from « What the hell did I do » to « I should do that to everyone, and that magic feels so good ».
The same, in more obvious, is true for Sebastian. By getting deeper and deeper into dark magic, he becomes more and more unhinged. His goal starts becoming the only thing worthwhile to him.
There are curses far worse in consequences than imperio or Avada Kedavra.
You could mentally destroy a man as deeply with obliviate than imperio. You can kill a man in far more gruesome manner with bombarda or confringo.
So why are they banned? Because of the intent needed and the fact that using them corrupts. You barely see anyone using unfogivables fighting for others.
Isabella is warranted. Sebastian, NEVAH!
Actually both Sebastian and Isabella was not guided properly
Remind me who's Isabella again?
The one who we see in the pensive
Ishidora, you mean?
Yes. I had auto correct
Yes
I thought the unforgivables were outlawed in 1717?
I may be mistaken though
True :/
Correction: Bakar used it in the 13th century, so it still was legal
*15th century
I feel there was a lot that they cut. I would have liked a closer look on Isidora.
I'm convinced that they cut a lot of contents.
Isidora felt kinda wasted at the end. I really thought she would somehow end up being the final boss. I actually thought she would end being Morgana herself (because of her name) and that'd she somehow survived all those years
Also, Victor Rookwood is kinda wasted as well.
I mean if he can curse Anne, why can't he do whatever it takes on MC to get what he want?
I agree, I also wish his boss fight didn't involve tons of ads.
that part's fine to me ,but I really wish, MC can have some point that got captured by Rookwood and locked up a bit. But I guess that would affect the rating.
Dude manages a dart curse that no one knows what it is or how to fix it
But dies super quick to a teenager
Like other enemy types were harder to beat.
He got absolutely disintegrated too, didn't even get any final words.
Exactly, that's why I think Victor Rookwood need some plot twist for himself.
I mean he just dragged our MC to a fighting ring instead of his stronghold to lock him/her up?
If I have been collect all the field pages etc, before I speak to Ms. Weasley, will she says you already complete all the field guide?
Sadly, no
well so that was an one cut scene then
yeah
I mean I actually did collect everything as Ravenclaw and she still said the same.
Ouch that was hurt and tiring..
If I want to unlock true ending, should I complete side quest, relationship quest, puzzle, collection then?
There isn't such thing as "true ending"
Just different cutscene based on what you say to Fig before fighting Ranrock
aah okay. So we still win the cup house then?
even we didnt finish all the side quest?
Yes, it's part of the story, but I gotta say, the smile for your MC is kinda good.
Complete all of it takes too much time and I was intend to do it slowly. Thank you
No problem, I mean I've been playing since Feb 8th. So
Do you think there'll be new stories? maybe not anytime soon, but maybe DLC or new side/relationship quests?
E.g. Harlow's revenge, or seeing Sebastian's redemption, something like that
I'd love that, but I don't think it will be really soon, since they still have to release the game on old gen and Switch.
I's love some continuation on Sebastian's questline with a redemption arc.
right, it can really go both ways, (1) he really wants to redeem himself or (2) he's tempted by Dark Arts again, either path will make the plot really exciting. I was more focused on his story than the main quest lel. I think my character and him has a strong bond throughout the whole game
He surely was the most interesting for me too, and yeah, the bond he forms with the MC is pretty strong. I could never turn him in.
As much as he made a huge mistake, I still feel he was only desperately trying to save his sister.
after the fight with Solomon, it was very painful to watch tbh, when Anne said "You made your choice.", wow the pain and grief in her tone? simply outstanding. Amazing voice acting work.
Yeah, that was so heartbreaking.
I’m still impressed that it’s the first VO job by Sebastian’s VA
He’s been in like 2 short films but this is his first VA gig
right? the voice actor may not have much experience but he really portrayed Seb perfectly
Yeah you could hear real disgust when you talk about Lodgok or when yes talking about goblins in general.
even i played 3 times, i always choose Seb when I go Hogsmeade and always side with him in his story, i cant see myself going against him
Same lol
I just find his chatter on the way more fun
He likes to flirt with our character, such charm and suave in his personality HAHA
Well, we really need to give Seb and Poppy's Voice Actor a cheers.
Oh yeah it’s Poppy’s VA’s first voice acting gig too isn’t it?
Well, that's what the Avalanche describe him when they first introduce him: Charismatic
He is pretty charming indeed.
Yes, IMDB didn't even have their pages before
Seb: Honestly, between the two of you, I’m starting to feel left out..
Ominis: Between the two of us?
Seb: I… uh, nothing…
he sounds jealous LOL
I played the game in my native language, and in that too the VAs were all great.
They did an awesome job also in other languages.
He definitely was.🤣
yeah, ancient magic wielder and Parselmouth
Did you catch Ominis stumble over talking about saving his friendship with Seb?
It’s from when you talk to him about the relic and say that you could Imperio him. He stumbles over saying “my friendship with Sebastian”
It’s adorable.
You know when we bring him to fights (e.g. trolls, spiders, goblins), sometime as a typical hufflepuff I wanna protect him, but then I forgot that he has infinite health, he can get hit multiple times by a troll and not die, a true chad.
If our companions has healthbars as well, it'll make it more interesting, to see if you just wanna fight off the enemies or you wanna protect your friend too
Speaking of other language's voice actors, I briefly played Japanese VO, feels like I was watching an anime sets in the Hogwarts.
Ooh ant like your Wiggenweld potions are shared or something
Oh I need to watch some clips too now, I'm curious.
Sad, we are unable to bring them to fight with us in free roam because Avalanche cut the system out.
You can do some language swap, there are methods to do that.
yea maybe next walkthrough i'll focus on protecting them even though they dont need protection, it'll make the combats more challenging
Thanks! I'll have to try!
I kinda want to hear French VO to find out if they have Beauxbatons vibe...🤣
I think they'll totally have that.😂
Playing in Italian was a nice experience for me. The vast majority of the games I usually play has no Italian voice acting, so you're stuck with either English or Japanese if it's a JP title.
And apparently the cast was selected between VAs that were fan of HP, so they really worked hard for the game. And it shows.
Oh oh oh! can I ask, for the sidequest on the portrait, what option did you guys choose (1) 3 Broomsticks (2) Hog's head (3) burn it ?
that portrait guy has got to be almost as annoying as our floo powder lady
I chose Hog's Head. After putting him there, he almost cries.😂
That'll teach him to snitch on students.
sometimes our MC can be shady as hell
MC can be really mean. I usually played nice, except that quest where the lady wanted me to retrieve the white bird. I kept it, the lady just wanted its feathers.
Just tried French, it's pretty good actually.
It seems like they really made a good job with the VAs in all languages.
If he has any brains (which as a portrait is a conundrum) just getting stolen should teach him not to snitch as he knows that the theft could happen again.
So of course I returned him to the 3 broomsticks because I don’t betray my client just for being annoying.
Guys, How long does it take for poppy to answer me after she had drawn the picture? Or do I have to finish any side quests before?
No side quest, just main quest. She doesn’t go forward until basically after the main quest line.
(If you mean after you two got back to Hogwarts)
When in the Library I noticed there seems to be a room behind the fireplace, visible through the flames. However there doesn’t seem any way to get in there. Is that possible please? Main area of the Library, about halfway down the room, on the side opposite to the Restricted Section.
Glacius
Happened to me twice with Natty while going to get a new wand. 2nd time she decided to run in a circle beside the wand shop before we got to the trigger point. Then I got more RAM and that never happened again thankfully.
Thanks. I did wonder that
so i just got avada kedavra in the game... i dont have much left of the main campaign have i
Nope
just a question about the story. im already at the part where Amit helped me discover the plans of Ranrok where the goblin intends to make a tank-like vehicle (forgot what its called lol). am i near the ending? please dont spoil with details. i know this is a spoiler section, but i just want to know if im near the end
in terms of storyline, id say maybe like 70%? very rough estimate
thank yooooouuuu!!
It’s a drill
yes! 😂 i still remember what it looks like, just forgot the simplest term to call or describe it.
Looks like you are almost to the third trial.
best one imo
Also, Am I the only one who thinks those drills wouldn’t work? They have three interlocking gears, basically, FFS.
Add a 4th gear so they can turn, Avalanche!
my engineering skill is too bad to comment this..
Well I've finished the main story and.... I'm disappointed how boring it is. I really expected something big, massive. Am i only one with such opinion?
And face animations.... they're disgusting
How massive were you expecting? They weren't gonna do something super big due to the pre-existing lore that happens later that they wanted to stay within
I can't even explain hehe 🥹
The game is great and the world is massive though! But the story is too obvious i guess
Too... primitive probably
But i really liked the music and the game design. Spells too
The story is obvious, yes. I think that's the right word. I expected this main evil goblin to be a huge boss at the end from the very beginning.... almost
I expected professor Fig to die too. Too obvious
There's a lot I liked about the game, but I think "primitive" isn't a bad word to use honestly. A lot seemed like it wasn't all that developed
The story shows that this was the studio's first AAA game, it's very simple, but I did enjoy it.
Maybe they'll go full on alt universe later on with alt endings and paths you can take in a sequel
question. for a Slytherin answer should i tell san baker i cannot say or tell him that Isidora told bragbor
when it comes to bragbor journals
This answer doesn't have any consequence, so go with our Slytherin instinct.
well lying is basically being part of Slytherin so i chose i cannot say
It really depends on how you view, but I would say lying it to the keeper doesn't help at all.
why wouldn't it
Well, this is rather a personal opinion, so you don't have to follow my choice.
cos they want to see if you are trustworthy and bakar has trust reservations with you regardless
Go with your instinct, think about what would you do in this situation.
the only Slytherin traits I chose to follow were "being ambitious" and "seeking power"
like i picked the disturbing answer in one part since it did disturb me more than fascinate me and he latched onto the mention about the power it gave Isadora and not the disturbing part
i chose fascinating and he wasn't pleased
If you finish the trail of san bakar, you will totally understand why he isn't pleased.
so he's not pleased either way then
Yeah, and we don't need to be evil to achieve this two traits
yep indeed
well he was pleased after i passed his trial even after i chose fascinating
Then you must saw the memory already.
I mean he cast avada on Ishidora, and he was really sad about it.
ya true. but it seems either response will get a reply from him that comes off negative to some extent
which is funny to me because he said something along the lines of "people arent always who they seem" then we see him do that and i was thinking to myself, "they really arent, huh"
he certainly did that without any pleasure.
He didn't like it but felt he had no choice. She was a threat to others and herself and had to be stopped and they couldn't be sure they'd win that fight due to her amped up magic
That's exactly how I think of this scene.
Hmm, not sure they'd even get a disarm or a petrifius to work on her now that i think of those spells. At that point, their options were imprison her or kill her if they can't do the former.
Didn’t Rackham try to disarm her and she deflected it like it was nothing?
Bakar probably felt that he had to use something she wouldn’t be able to deflect. And cast something she wouldn’t just shrug off with Finite or her amped up magic.
AK was really his only choice. It was that, or she killed all of them and continued her “work”
Yah im sure he did try. Yah he felt he had no choice, did what he had to do to deal with her threat which she was at that point.
Also was under a time constraint, due to Niamh being hurt…
Anyone else kinda bummed how barely anything significant happens within the actual school
They did a great job at recreating the entire school but the story barely has you interacting with it
Like I would have loved to see some inner school conflicts or attack by trolls or something
More space to the house cup would have been nice.
I would have liked to earn house points and attend more classes. I’d quite have liked a nemesis as well (like Draco and Harry), even though I did enjoy the interactions between all houses.
This game is seriously quizzing me on the wizarding world
I'm going to actually cry this is brutal for a new fan
Is everything alright?
Are you not able to save once you start the San Bakar trial? I finished it but haven't been able to save since.
Sounds like a bug
You know what I loved? How at the end of the game, the Ravenclaw player wins the House Cup for all the massive nerds that crowd all around him, cheering excitedly like they’ve never won anything in their lives 😂 not sure why you must look like a total dork to be in Ravenclaw (in this game), but that scene made me so happy, lol. Felt like the underdogs won xD
Lol same with the Hufflepuffs, fed up of Gryffindors and Slytherins always winning
There seriously needs to be some DLC storylines or expansions to this game that has you doing more stuff in the castle, it was my favorite place. Everywhere else is just grass and water, lol.
Personally I think it would have been cooler if the friends you’d actually made (like Seb, Ominis, Natty and Poppy) all came over to celebrate and show support for their friend.
I barely recognised any of the Ravenclaw NPCs that cane over to my MC but the Mc reacts like they know them and it was weird imo
I think the actual friends coming over even though their own houses might have lost, would have been way better
Ikr
I agree. Maybe even just some classes for fun at certain times where you can show of what you learned or whatever. Idk. Just more interaction.
Btw i think they shouldve given less wiggenweld potions. 25 is insanely much. So easy to win trials etc. Only need to heal like 5 times max
Or- there could be even more harder mode than hard :))
even weirder is that the mc just stands by the door all the time looking like they don't want to be there
Hogwarts legacy really needs a Ng+
I want a no consumable mode... Not just more health for the ennemy/less damage.
Or weakness only mode
Hogwarts legacy but it has a dark souls difficulty
I see your point, especially because you barely get any time to do anything substantive with the Ravenclaws. Seems like Ravenclaws were cut content 😆 still, it was nice to be the hero of the people, lol.
And Sebastian had the best story, by far. Better than the main story, even, I’d say. I’d like more of that in DLC or something. Maybe a DLC Ravenclaw that’s not spineless or overly quirky would be nice 😬
Considering very few of them had quests (not even Everett had a side quest despite being heavily marketed and meeting him in the common room.) sane with Amit who just felt like he wasn’t hastily shoved into things he shouldn’t have been heeded.
Like the Astronomy tables which really should have been taught to you by Professor Shah who doesn’t even teach you a spell while pretty all the other professors do.
There were ravenclaw NPCs shown in classes that you never get a quest from to either that are named and even have voice lines (Andrew Larson is one of them and he’s voiced by Ominis’ VA. you can hear a voice line from him during Astronomy class.)
Or that dude that looks kind of like a noted to Harry. Never says a line but you see him in cutscenes a lot.
Yeah one that isn’t just epitomes of house stereotypes would be nice.
Right, you don’t have to be weird to be in Ravenclaw. Everyone gets this great house Intro. Ravenclaw? Fart bomb. Literally and figuratively 🤣
Seb and Ominis were the most compelling characters imo
And Ominis wasn’t even a companion.
But he might as well haven been. Both Ominis and Seb were fantastically voiced, their dynamic felt natural and genuine and I found their interactions with the MC to feel far more like an actual earned friendship
Yeah lol
Like Everett should’ve had side quests involving pranks as that’s supposed to be his character trait
But he does that one prank and that’s it lol never again
I actually started a new playthrough as Slytherin yesterday, I thought, hey, why didn’t Ominis choose his house if he’s not fond of Slytherin? He couldn’t have chosen, uh, Ravenclaw, perhaps? 👀
Though I don’t know how much that spits on the lore. I guess they wanted the heir of Slytherin to be in Slytherin, but he didn’t seem too keen on it.
The Hat has the final say. It takes personal choice into consideration but it’s not guaranteed to sway it.
It probably believed Slytherin would be the best place for him for his ambitions.
Like his desire to seoerate himself from his family and be something better.
Quite a lofty aspiration for a Gaunt.
That’s true. It did seem a bit sad and off that he just kind of accepted Slytherin. I felt pity for him, I ended up siding with him when I saw Sebastian going off the deep end.
I just pretended he was the Ravenclaw companion to cope that there weren’t any, really 🤣
Ominis was a great character.
Me 🤝 You
Siding with the best blind seek boi
Hell yeah xD
Considering he wasn’t even a “companion” I personally felt he was leagues more complex and compelling that Natty and Poppy (who imo both leaned a bit too heavily in stereotypes for their house, with Natty being a reckless vigilante and Poppy being a Proto Newt Scammander)
I agree, I didn’t really feel the juju with Natty, and while I did like Poppy, I don’t… really care for animals 😅 I mean, I have dogs, I love them, but to the point of going out of my way to save unfamiliar animals on that level? Idk!
Like poppy just randomly trust a stranger with meeting Highwing just because they told off some bullies?
Or Natty being like “yeah I know we barely know each other but help me take down an entire gang”
Another weird thing (to me) is that, as a hufflepuff, you don't interact with Poppy in the common room...
You don’t interact with Natty either in Gryffindor. You get Cressida, Nellie and the Weasely dude
Poppy isn't that much of a stereotype. Hufflepuffs tend to be outgoing and friendly, and, except for the MC, Poppy is pretty much alone. She says it herself: she didn't have any friends except for Highwing and her grandmother before then...
good to know, hadn't realised it. You do interact with Ominis and Sebastian, though.
Slytherin is the only one that has you interact with both Sebastian and Ominis.
And they’re great introductions. I love them so much haha
To me she felt a lot like Newt though.
Kind of loner Hufflepuff that prefers the company of magical creatures?
It’s just Newt lol
But yeah, Poppy trusting you is a bit much, I guess it was due to social desperation somehow? Like you were taking her side, so she thought she should make a step in your direction?
Poppy and Natty both felt like characters we’ve seen before.
Sebastian and Ominis were something new and just more compelling as a result
I'm kinda similar, so to me, they look like very different people, but I can see where you're coming from.
Well... Ominis is something we saw multiple times in fanfictions...
Fanfics aren’t actual lore material though lol
Yup, but it wasn't new either ^^
I liked the Weasley guy, too. Would’ve preferred him over Natty xD imagine Fred and George, but they’re condensed into one and they have a full character arc!
And I think that Omis, Sebastian, and the MC wandering the castle and the outdoors together felt like I was actually the flip world version of Harry Potter, it was great 😄
I like to refer to Sebby, Ominis and MC as the Silver Trio lol
They meshed so well together I loved their interactions
Right? That's why I couldn't leave it at just one playthrough, now I'm going through it with a Slytherin character to get the full effect of being in the same house and all xD I'm not playing as myself this time, though, I'm gonna be loyal to Sebastian and not turn him in for murder 👀
I would’ve really loved it if you had all of your classmates helping you for the final battle, along with the teachers
As you should be!
Not me having a manual save put aside just before talking to Seb and Ominis in the common room so I can experience it whenever I want
Ominis’ smile is extra precious
Because he’s a grumpy boi, most of the time
That makes me want to start a new playthrough with a Slytherin character just to chat with them more.
They are my favorites.
Sane
Favourite NPCs (and their backstories being the most interesting to me) are Sharp, Hecat, Sebastian and Ominis
Sharp and Hecat are nice, I hope they could have had more space in the story. I liked Poppy too.
To top it off, you get to talk to Ominis and Sebastian in the common room at the start, then they go on to have huge roles in making you feel a part of the world later on. I call bias on the dev team 😆
Favorite character for me was Poppy… wish we saw more of her….
Lol the devs surely loved them. I think the game makes it pretty clear that the "right" choice is not to turn Sebastian in.
Yeah, even though it's not 😂 I felt really bad doing it, but bro was going off the deep end.
I still think he doesn't deserve being sent to Azkaban. He was desperate, he did something out of desperation, but no one really tried to understand his desperation, and simply shut him down.
I mean, if they told me that my sister was afflicted by an unknown disease and simply stopped trying to heal her, I would be very much as desperate and would try whatever I could to actually help her.
And he does shows regret for what he did, and he accepts that his hatred for goblins was misplaced.
It actually scares my mind that he did killed human
Every death in HL feels bad cause there is not much of a memorable characters and the fact that you’re making this list smaller when doing quests makes me sad
Well, considering the amount of dark wizards the MC defeats, I can safely say that WE, the MC, are the true killer. 😂
I used to think that they’re just teleporting somewhere to heal themselves 💀
I'll start thinking the same because otherwise, we really killed a lot of people.😳
They do say that from time to time, I forgot.😂
but no one really tried to understand his desperation, and simply shut him down
you don't know that, you only know what he tells you, and he is a known liar, or at least likes to bend the truth
he actually admits that his uncle tried to talk with him, but he being a kid didn't see that he was trying to help him
yet he still keeps hating them
I think only in the ending where you turn him in. If you don't, he kinda changes his mind, or so I perceived it.
He's still a kid, his perception might be wrong, but from what we see, his uncle gave up pretty soon.
consider this: you're given a book by your teacher, telling you you should complete it by the end of the school year, you open it and it says "kill 30 dark wizards" etc
Even after what he’s done he said “I had to do it”, he regret it only cause sister left him, I think
this.
MC has an impressive kill count.😂
But I anyway think that there should be a twist at the end when he became an auror
probably a cliche but he will be a good one
That would be a nice redemption arc, but those are tricky to do it right. We'll see what the future will have in store for the game. They might just decide to start new and do a completely different time period.
If they ever do a sequel.
That’s unlikely, it’s easier and logical enough to continue in a present time of HL
We still have a two years in Hogwarts
from the start of the game he shows a concerning disregard for other people, I just don't see what you see there
I'd love to have a continuation of the story, maybe being also able to import the save from the first game.
He is confident enough to use power he haves. Reminds me of Alastor Moody
I can easily imagine how an adult Sebastian sitting in front of the students and telling them a story about what terrifying things he had done in his school years, including ruining his own family, and why these students should not blindly relay on the power they can’t control
And this all with the auror robes
that would be nice.
anyone else thought that the Rookwood in the portrait was going to betray us, solely because his name was rookwood and majority of rookwoods have evil history, like augustus rookwood in goblet of fire
If he betrayed us to Victor it could’ve been the chance for Vic to be more than just a throwaway villain.
That sounds interesting... He was able to try to lock us inside the trial or even worse, kill. Who will seek for a student in an ancient rooms for ancient magic users, and if MC will have a chance to return to a map chamber, who will believe a student that one of the keepers can do something like that?
I thought Gaunt was going to be our Malfoy, but he ended up being a bro
yeah true, i mean his name was not the dead giveaway I thought it was gonna be
hey ominis, youre name resembles ominous quite a bit, are you aware
“Dark, ominous corners. My favourite”
Just realized that we didn't met Sirona in the story right after she told us about Lodgok
that's sad that we didn't even talk to her after his death :c
😂
“Come on! That was a good one!”
It’s pretty much due to the linear story line, but he kept wanting to kill all goblins when doing his quest after telling him Rookwood took care of Anne…
Can anyone remember when we get the quest to rescue a unicorn please?
I know it is in hogsmeade’s main square.
Thanks
And you need at least to have the nabsack active… The name of the unicorn is Hazel, might help finding the quest
Found it. the Unique Unicorn
Wow we can get a unicorn cool
You can get as many as you want, as soon as you want ||In the forbidden forest, west of lower hogsfield||
You’re welcome
🙂
Depending on your difficulty, you might have to freeze it with glacius to ease the capture process
I really want to find the name of this track, but I’ve listened through some playlists and I can’t figure out which one it is
It’s the music that sometimes plays when you’re walking around Hogwarts, I think it might’ve only started once it became winter
Let me see if I can post a video of me humming it somehow
https://streamable.com/4ywsjd
any ideas?
I really thought the baby beast grow up 😦
I hate that the main story is so short
It’s not short imo
Is it optional|| to learn the forbidden curses? I want to be a good student😂 ||
Ya
Actually its really short and meaningless...
I just ||killed the dragon Ranrok in 5th hour|| and the story finished...
ye
You finished it in 5 hours????
I did a bunch of SQs and stuff and left the game open in the background sometimes but it took me 99 hours lmao
At least do the relationship quests. Some of them tie in nicely to the main story
I don’t think it would even be possible in 5 hours considering things like spell requirements and level requirements for some main quests. Even skipping cutscenes and dialogue
I did 100% in 40 hours, 99h is so much I don’t even know what you did for half of the time…
Especially considering tutorial is unavoidable and takes 20 minutes. While skipping all cutscenes.
Speeding through to the map chamber took me 1h45 with a slytherin on hard mode.
Ok I also kept pretty extensive notes about the game as well so that I could remember what happened without having to go online and see spoilers, so a lot of that time was spent writing lol
It was 90 hours for me if Steam does not lies
at the end I decided to rush cause I wanted to see how the story ends in-game, I was scared about spoilers everywhere :D
but it was a game with several rules to increase the in-game time, I didn't used fast travel, for example, and ofc played on hard mode, such a joy
Same
I only fast traveled when the distance was really far. I loved flying around in broomstick everywhere
I enjoyed the broomstick much more than the hippogriff.
im literally on 100% field guide completion and weasley is like "quite a bit of your field guide is yet to be completed" sorry what???!!
Awh. Ya must not have explored very much 😭
I've been playing for 51 hours and still don't have 100%. So yeah if you wanna speed run you're welcome to, but it's a longer game if you want to complete it.
add it to the list of stuff which has no impact but could have been very neat if it did
I confirm that she just doesn't react to a full field guide. I finished everything else, full field guide and full grottos/pages/merlin trials, with no impact on what she said
Dear, I'm laughing my ass off every time I see the part where Professor Black(you) talking to Ominus about Dittany and bubotuber
I loved when you ran into professor sharp and you make sure to tell him to send a student to deliver the bools potion, such that the rumor is sure to get out 🤣
Well, I just encouraged Chiyo Kogawa to report Black to the ministry as Black...lol
Lol I did the same
Makes a good moustache paste
The sooner to get rid of him, the better.
I have a character at about 76% on level 34. I have completed the main story and struggling to find any more quests. How on earth do I find enough to do to get up to level 40 and 100%?
Finish up the other challenges.
You only earn do from progressing challenges until you finish all their tiers
visit the villages, sometimes side quests appear from the npc
Thanks guys. Working on that. Was surprised to read that once a particular challenge is finished, you don’t get any more XP from killing those enemies.
A 5th-Year Student Whole Story. Check it out!
||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knbyCl42SRY||
you don't get xp from enemies anyway, it's all about the field guide stuff
which is why you only get to be level 40 at just the point of having nothing to do anymore, which is kinda derpy without a ng+
That and the pause screen track!
So question
What causes does our character to be able to see thestrals
Cuz when the carriage takes off at the intro mission we can’t see them
But then in one of the Natty missions we can. But that’s before any major characters die
Is it just counting the dark wizards we defeated?? That’s stupid
Cuz in the books and movies Harry literally murders a teacher with his two bare hands and still can’t see thestrals. It has to be a death that’s meaningful
Or am I just missing something
When the dude in the carriage dies (George I think?) we can see them
OHHHH good point I forgot about him
They turn visible during that cutscene
that;s just a movie thing where he sees Squirrel die. They didn't know about thestrals at that point so didn't think it through
It's pretty cool when the thestrals suddenly appear in the cutscene. Was one of my fav things. Also my bf doesn't agree with me that thestrals are cute cos they're 'death horses' 😦
Wait i just realized that Ominous Gaunt is probably Voldemort’s great uncle or something
His ancestor
He is voldys great uncle
Is that confirmed or just speculation? I only saw speculation that he was marvolo’s brother but is that actually guaranteed?
That's what i read
That’s why me and Ominis are best buddies 😼
What if my character marries Ominis and is now voldy grandmother 😭
W honestly
I mean he is an ancestor. Whether is a direct one is unknown.
The timeline would match up.
Marvolo died in the 1920s in Azkaban and he was fairly old then (or at least looked it due to a destitute lifestyle)
So him being an older sibling makes sense in the 1890s.
Timeline cannot match for anything else than great uncle or another more removed kind of cousin.
Either a much older brother or a cousin, IMHO.
well he has the same surname as Voldy’s grandfather, Marvolo Gaunt, so there’s definitely some connection between the two
A group of guys Attacked Highwing pissed me off to the point of using Crucio
You have to mean it, Potter.
Yeah, I know
Not the same as when I used it on the teacher
what the huh?
He tried it on umbridge I think
Maybe if you already have the allotted number for the given area it doesn’t give you XP anymore? I heard that’s how it works for defeating foes
just finished the natty quest line. A few things:
-
||Her diving in front of the MC to protect him is so predictable lol||
-
Is Natty ||permanantly disabled now||???
-
I can't believe that Officer Singer ||is actually not a bad guy. I was convinced for at least half the game that she was on the take, she was working for the Ashwinders. That was the only way I could explain her utter refusal to even try to do her job||
- yea it was predictable
- don’t think so, she said she’s fine and just need to rest
- well her side quest that’s only available on PS5 shows that she’s a good person. But yeah, she could be more involved in the investigation
I’m on PC
I was genuinely fully convinced she was evil, I was fully expecting to roll up to Harlow and she would be there fighting side bide side with him.
I think there can be more plot twists if the developers want it. So far the whole storyline seems predictable, not that it’s a bad thing. Probably the most shocking thing when I first play was George got killed by the dragon 3min into the game and I’m like bruh I haven’t get a chance to know you
I was pretty shocked when I had to decide whether to cast crucio myself or get it cast on me
That’s when the game went from 0 to 100, like things just got real
There’s no way I’d cast on Sebastian, I just don’t have the heart to do it (typical Hufflepuff here)
Natty is such a griffindor. Glad we saw her ||gazelle form|| though
I absolutely love that part.
has anyone had a problem with the quest were natty was kidnaped (its a relationsship quest) every time i do that quest my whole game just crashes and i dont know why or how to fix it can someone pls help
Nope. He did cast it on one of the carrows, though (Amycus, I think) after said Death Eater spat on Mc Gonnagall.
We’ve only known one case of people being permanently disabled due to the cruciatus curse, and it took minutes. She’ll be fine once she stops being a drama queen. Especially in the game where the cruciatus is basically a stun.
Technically two cases 😉
Hence people ^^
I wish there was a way to replay missions on demand without having to start a new game and all
save files
Let's just focus on pressing the devs to let us sit and go to bed...lol
Okay I'm watching the credits atm...this game has more credits than a Marvel film
It's a AAA game after all.
Can someone tell me how the cutscene goes if you choose to keep all the power for yourself
Not sure if this should be in spoilers or if I can make it public, but found an easy way to charge up your ancient magic. Find an inferious or whatever they're called and spam basic cast. Then when your ancient magic gets full. Use your incendio or confringo to end the fight
I think fig's response changes and that's about it
Naw a lot changes. The way he dies, and the cut scene after you defeat ranrok
Also I think that his ||death scene|| is sligtly different.
You didn't even know how he died.
I hardly knew how Ranrok died. The battle was cool, but the way he died was just anticlimactic for a main villain. Even when Rookwood died I was like “huh.”
But his death was far better than Ranrok
I 'm gonna say it again, show down with Victor Rockwood could use some rated M plot twist.
Like torturing him with Crucio until there’s nothing left but an empty shell of a man, and then using whatever remains as a sacrifice to save Sebastian’s sister?
I’m down.
I was gonna say instead of bring you to a arena-style base, he lock you up, torture you a bit, until Fig comes and save the day.
I like mine more
He was the first one I used Avada Kedavra on. So Sebastian got his revenge slightly.
Well, we all got our preference.
1hr35 to get to the map chamber as a gryffindor with no deaths no consumables. Not sure I’ll beat that soon. (Hard mode, no equipment)
I got nagged by Natty when I used avada kadavra on a poacher 😭
Oh goodluck!!! Are u on steam? Is there any achievements by doing those?
This is one of the reasons why I hang with Sebastian…
He doesn't give a damn about what kinda spell you are using, as long as the result is good.
Ok so tv tropes brought this up - Comparing the two scenes, it's clear that the protagonist was able to take the Crucio a bit better than Sebastian could (the protagonist only fell to their knees while Sebastian writhed on the ground). Seeing as how they were able to coerce Rookwood's Avada Kerdava into a linked duel with Ancient magic, it's possible that same magic is helping them tank the pain a bit better.
AK should have just exploded off whatever spell the MC cast since thats how it works unless priori incantatum is in effect.
So maybe AM can lock AK into such a linking
Well, Ishidora did tanked a disarming spell, but not Avada.
Maybe that is because she's pre-occupied with lining with percival and Charles.
no i mean it will lock AK into a priori incantatum link up effect which canonically
not save you from a direct AK strike if its not intercepted by another spell
i don't think Isodora was gonna survive a direct hit from AK
Well, nobody survived a direct hit from AK so far.
I forgot to add, before the guy.
otherwise no one is known to have.
Maybe that mother quilin in FB3 if that was AK used on her
But that wasn't even a direct hit
He did take a direct hit in DH but shenanigans again
You know, funny thing about the Qilin scene, is that movie said the place is in Guangxin Province but in reality it's acutally located in Hunan Province...lol
mistake on devs part i assume
Well, they didn't bother check the location, I'm being sensitive about that because it said the place is in China and I'm being a Chinese.
One of the six fortunate beasts in Chinese Mythlogy.
I see. I'd make sure to know the location or province i set a scene of my movie in when im making one for sure
I am via steam, and no.
So something bout Seb tv tropes brought up - why he would learn the 3 curses - Crucio, aka the Cruciatus Curse, is focused on torturing the target subjected by it with the pain and torment increasing with the caster's intent. Given Anne's curse causes her to feel frequent bouts of pain if she strains herself and Sebastian noting in his quest in Feldcroft that he wants to analyze what exact kind of magic it was that affected her, be it Goblin or Wizard magic, it makes sense that Crucio would be the first thing he'd study since he may consider her curse being akin to or a subspell variant of Crucio.
Imperio, aka the Imperius Curse, is focused on controlling other people to the caster's will and getting them to do anything in your name. As said above, Sebastian doesn't know what kind of magic harmed Anne save that it had to be caused by a wizard or goblin. Assuming he found the perpetrator and they were unwilling to undo the spell, he could use Imperio to force them to do so anyways. It would also be good to make potential targets fess up information that he may need.
Avada Kedavera, aka the Killing Curse, is as it's name says focused on killing targets in one hit of it. Considering all the current events around Hogwarts including Ashwinders, Goblins, Poachers and various other dangerous beings, and not to mention Feldcroft is being surrounded by Goblins to the point of fear from the residents of which Anne is one of them, it would make sense that in the face of such dangers, in case his fifth year spellcraft and dueling capabilities aren't enough to save him, having knowledge of how to cast the Killing Curse would ironically be a lifesaver for him and/or Anne if he ever had to use it.
They even put our minister of magic to be the candidate in that movie, but sadly, they didn't bother to introduce the character even a bit more.
Avada Kedavra is only a good/reasonable fight spell when fighting with the numbers on your side, if you reason logically. It is 6 syllables long, so any other spell would interrupt you.
Just say it really fast or git gud at it non verbally
also get really good at doing want movements for it fast
that is a problem for all spells, some are several sylablles long and wand movements can be over complex and hard to recall
devs should automatically give us a reload of wiggenweld potions before we fight ranrok.
yah you'll have to go through everything and conserve them.
though if you have enough damage output and ancient magic stuff, and good enough dodging you'll find him easy enough
Or maybe Sebastian didn’t have enough hate in him to cast the same amount of pain the main character casted lol
I’m replaying on hard difficulty. Lord help me when I reach that mission.
Hi guys
shrugs. neither wanted to hurt the other and both stopped immediately once they cast it
But like… Aren’t you here as well?
Its almost like the link isn't hard to find
If you live in the desert, I’m sure it is
Oh that silly antisemitism nonsense again?
If you’re seeing stereotypes in a creature of folklore that’s been around much longer than any of those stereotypes..l then you’re the one with the issue lol
true, im not that good at dodging so it might be a skill issue for me 😭
no
oof good luck
hey gigi
<@&755190193367023772> thanks
there's an option?
just dodge and keep hitting him and using potions and you'l lbe good. having more damage output really shortens the time. im only doin 25 damage each cast, when 50 each time would make it so much quicker
Why people gotta come here just to get banned as if it's an achievement in their life, i still don't get it
just finished
GG
i got the good ending as slytherin!
Well done
I stopped trying to figure that out a long time ago
People are silly
Need to be shoved in the Broken Vanishing Cabinet.
What happened?
A meagre troll claiming antisemitism lol
Oh. Why join just to be banned
non related lore question - anyone know name of this music at this point in this trailer - is it on the ost - https://youtu.be/wKbHWgiGIYU?t=953
Because some people are dumb and have nothing better to do with their time
Strange. It says I have done enough Merlín Trials but there are still a lot left. It doesn’t seem to mind if I keep doing them.
you get all gear slots doing a certain number and an achievement for all of em
Thanks
Yeah because i went to the fight with 17 potions and finished with 0 and 1 hit from dying
Your input lag is the most important thing to take into account, at that point.
I managed it without consumables on hard with my good keyboard, but had trouble fighting more than 2-3 statues with my travel one. Probably a question of habit, but you still loose quite some time with a bad bluetooth keyboard…
isn't hard to farm them
place like five potion stations in the room of requirement and let your dittany seeds put in work
I’m Xbox
Does professor black play favorites for the house cup lmao
Doesn't look like it
HEADMASTER*
It seems like he wants to but Weasley prevents it.
There is a treasure vault west of the southern arena, reached by diving to a subterranean cave. Any idea how to open the door please? I searched the camp above but can’t find any switches
maybe butterflies?
Not underwater. You have to go in the water near the dock and dive
I couldn’t see any. I’ll take another look
There is a path that leads down
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2949651636
I assume you are talking about this one?
Don’t think so. West of the southern battle arena and Priya Treadwell, there is a small and a medium battle camp. The medium one is right on the shore, with a tower and a dock and lots of stairs.
The treasure vault is shown on the map partway up the cliff. However, if you go into the water at the medium battle camp, there is a prompt to dive. This takes you into an underwater cave. At the back of the cave is a door. Revelio shows that it opens but no sign of how to open it. Chest is behind the door
One of the Merlín trials, one with the three stacks of five balls, I found all three locations and the groups of balls eventually.
However, somehow I lost one of the balls.
Therefore, I have two sets unlocked and the third one only has four balls. I just cannot find the missing ball. Annoying
Now reached 89%
That's happened to me too, come back to the trial later and it'll be reset and you can attempt it again.
That’s what I was hoping.
I finished the story, and bruh, Sebastian
Ranrok stopped, repository sealed, hooray, Fig died, that’s too bad, oh well. But damn, poor Anne and Sebastian
I hope you did not do the thing what I think it is.
??? What are you talking about?
No, good heavens, no. I don’t have the heart to have him spend the rest of his life in Azkaban
Right? Isn’t the punishment for using unforgivable curses life sentence?
In some way, yes.
Auto life sentence in Azkaban yes
They may have released him due to his age and the circumstances behind the murder but no knowing how long that would take and he may not survive long enough for that to occur.
For what it’s worth, at the end of it all, Sebastian seemed very regretful and remorseful. He’s clearly redeemable. Needless to say though, what happened to him and his sister gave me a really sour and bitter taste towards the end of the story. Yay I’m a hero, but my friend and his sister are still suffering greatly, yay…
Pain…
I'm glad to see a fellow Slytherin displaying the true meaning of our House!
The devs can't leave us like this, there needs to be dlc!
did you see the note Anne left Sebastian in feldcroft after the ending?
I didn’t visit the Feldcroft. I went to sleep right after the ending credits. Let me go check
It's short and simple. Bring tissues lol
I am surprised that once it was revealed that Sebastian sisters curse was not a goblin curse but a wizard curse that everyone was so dumbfounded by it. How unique if a curse could it have responsibly been?
I think it's more of a "Wow. I spent years hating Goblins and it was actually a human."
I was just thinking about that. All that hatred of goblins, including the one about to attack Anne and it was a human all along.
Would he have used crucio instead of Expelliamus or arresto momentum if he had know that?
I get that part, but my takeaway was that it was an unknown curse and thus difficult to cure. But it was revealed that it wasn’t (technically it could still be a special curse, but it presumably a wizard curse, not some hidden goblin magic curse)
So he was investigating goblin magic rather than wizard magic
Not just him tho. Multiple ppl tried to cure her right?
They all believed she had been cursed by a goblin though
Ah.... I see... They treid to cure Goblin magic, but they never tried to cure human magic,,,
This is why I'm team Sebastian all the way. NEVER give up!
I would have thought St Mungo’s would have tried both
Right. But I might be bringing too much logic into this, but st mungo doesn’t test for “normal” curses first? Like a real life doctor would first test for the flu before saying it’s HIV/AIDS
I’m both joking and being serious at the same time
Exactly. However, the Pathology lab only tests for what your GP asks them to test
It’s like the episodes of doctor House where everyone test for crazy stuff before testing for food poisoning
Than it turn out to just be old fish that the person ate lol
Sebastian said "we haven't tried everything" and the Uncle doesn't even disagree. He just says that "there is no cure."
We need a DLC to investigate the curse further. I was very disappointed being left on such a cliffhanger
That’s the difference. Solomon has been told there is no cure and believes that. Sebastian believes there has to be some way to cure her
He never said though that they tried everything (the uncle)
But whoever the doctors were that tried at st mungo kinda suck lol
It's like getting a second opinion from a irl doc. Sometimes third and fourth opinions.
Just cause they're "doctors" doesnt always mean theyre right
Technically the school nurse also tried. So they are all useless at medicine apparently. Unless it turns out it’s still some crazy curse. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just eat slugs and one got stuck in her throat
don't get me started on school nurses. Probably gave Anne an icepack and was like "nope. Did all we could."
It would be funny if the entire time it was just eat slugs and one got stuck so it made her extra sick lol
Two tablespoons of salt cures her or something
And my man Sebastian is trying to summon demons while all he really needed was a ritz cracker
just give us dlc
Ignoring dev laziness, you can learn all curses after finishing the main questline and telling him. He still hates gobelin and uses imperio on it to make it kill itself.
Why does the story end when Winter ends? Like there is still like 5 months of the school year left?
Because you beat the final boss.
Yeah, was kind of hoping there'd be more after that, like what happens with Black?
What do you want to happen? He'll likely be headmaster for at least another 10 years. He didn't get that role by being competent. At worst, the ministry will just force him to reopen quidditch.
That's where I thought the story was going 😦
Anyone know why san bakar was able to use the killing curse on isadora and not go to Azkaban?
I'm just curious
Avada was labbed as Unforgivable at 1717, and Ishidora was at tutor area.
15th century.
So it means Avada hadn't been banned until 1717.
Oh
Fastidio and peeves would get along great together
Also I doubt the other keepers would tell on him even if it was the law at the time.
So basically, they turned into a bunch of crybaby’s in 1717
cause america probably
well, talk about murder is legal or not
well USA is basically formed by no-maj(muggles)
Doing merlin trial where you have to touch the stone is easy on a broom
there was one in the southern coastal region that wouldn't let me do that
Really
yeah it was by a dock
Did you destroy objects on it
there was one barrel
You have to destroy the objects on the stones
but it still registered when the barrel was on the stone
ancient magic yeah broom is a super good for them
once I figured out what they were I did quite like the parkour ones
Those were the easiest ones
The one in the bandit camp where the goblin’s carts were held it took me ages to find the third set of balls. Hidden in weeds under a rock
So I finally finished the game, I got goosebumps watching the last scene (the one giving 100 point to your house) cuz it was cringey someone else agree? Lol
Yeah, I wish they make you use objecrs around with leviosa so you can make a bridge and that way be more harder to do.
my (least) favourite moment was the merlin trial just by hagrids hut near the black lake getting one of the big stone balls into the hole. Mine hit the little picket fence, breaking the fence and launching the ball off into the black lake. I made a video of it xD
The most tricky one using depulso to fire the big ball across the gap
I mean the secret to the big ball ones is wingardium leviosa
The odd thing about the House Cup event is Black not actually naming the winning House, so the same scene worked for all four Houses. Incidentally, if you see the House points hourglasses after that, the correct House does have a lot more points than the others
we are a very good student and probably got a tonne of points just from defeating the troll in hogsmeade
https://youtu.be/CXzO_YQR_BA also heres the video showcasing the silly thing with the Merlin trial boulder if anyones curious... I hope thats allowed
do you guys see some main characters after finishing the game? I've only seen Omnis:( where is Poppy and Natty and Sebastian.. 😟
well sebastian ||is in azkaban||
||but I didnt turn him innnn||
My hourglasses have been empty all the time, I thought It was because I was getting everyone in trouble but It stay the same after and before the ceremony 😑
Neither do I ☹️
aawww 😫
I've seen Sebastian walk around Hogwarts
Yeah, I hate end of term points. To give points for something not on the curriculum like saving the school is cringe. You can’t normal students to do that and shouldn’t encourage it. And it would’ve worked out better if we had just trusted Professor Weasley and other teachers earlier. Just makes me feel bad if a different house ‘won’ the house cup before those points.
I know right! It feel like they use the books endings quite literally 😑 and our choices did not matter at all, Like if you dont tell the professors maybe they would not show on the end battle and you would have to battle more enemies.
I mean... if a student saves the entire school are you not gonna reward them? Seems pretty deserving of points. Whats cringe is it being done at the final ceremony and not when it happens
They should only reward that student and not the entire house, like give him a medal 😅
true, but points are deserved. Cause one student does good in class, they get house points. Thats just how it works
🔫😑
Ol timothy knows the correct pronunciation of Wingardium leviosa, give that boy 10 points. But just to him, his griffindor classmates bobby and gemima didn't so they get nothing
Look I am I sly guy I got reduce so many points by the professors, so even with those 100 I did not feel like I should have won 🤣
it also is less cringe if your house as a whole was doing well. Philosiphers stone where they go from last place to 1st at the graduate ceremony after the banners are already up AFTER announcing the final point total... that was bad
It was 💀
My reasoning is that it’s in class. Classwork gets and loses points. Points for battles with goblins under Hogwarts which is probably breaking all sorts of rules is iffy to me. But you do have a point that no banners were up yet. So it wasn’t quite as bad as I made it out to be.
also if I know school teachers they would rather stick to the time old methods of awarding merit than invent something new for this one particular student
saves a lot of hastle to just give em points
thats why sebastian shouldn't ||go to azkaban, just deduct him some points||
In the second book Harry and Ron did get awards for special service to the school along with house points for rescuing Ginny (breaking about a hundred rules in the process lol)
I'd say that was different I'd say. Book 1 it was all inner hogwarts stuff. But in book 2 the ministry were getting involved, the school was gonna be shut down, multiple people were getting attacked.
solving a massive issue the entire school was aware of nets an award. Doing something in the basement that is definitely good gets points
I wasn’t trying to bring up an argument there, just stating that there are or will be medals for student valor as Tom Riddle got won for stopping Slytherin’s Heir Hagrid. Yeah, at that point the whole school term was cut short and no one was caring about the house cup at all, so giving points seems more agreeable to me.
oh sorry Iwasn't trying to argue. Just stating my thoughts on why it would be different
Your thoughts were fine, that problem was I didn’t state mine adequately enough so I was correcting it.
no my fault for blitz reading
i'm kinda distracted. Got like 3 convos going on on discord on one monitor, and got a yotube video open on the other moniter
Well pretty much the book shows it’s arbitrary who wins the house cup lol
It’s all based on rampant favoritism
To bad there is nothing special about the extra moonstones from demiguise
POV: you use avada Kedavra infront of a teacher. nothing happens
meanwhile in Durmstrang
don't they teach the dark arts in durmstrang?
Dont think they did before igor karkaroff
I have convos while playing hogwarts legacy and watching youtube
I'd find pausing to type stuff out would be distracting
I dont take the time to pause the vid bc most of the times I send something which takes 2 seconds and then I gotta wait 5 mins for a response
I mean pausing the game
oh
no not rlly
i love the main menu screen for hl, how it starts showing the lord of the sea or whatever it was called once you catch it
now that ive done the story time to finish every tiny little thing in the game
Yes. Very sad
does anyone know the title of the music at the ending where they raise their cups for prof. fig?
tribute
its not the greatest song in the world
whats the name of the song when u ride the graphorn
thank yooouuu!! the ending is so sweet.
i agree, tbh i cried on that scene
god i need to finish this game 😐
me too. and i was even spoiled by those who were campaigning against the game. didnt know i'd still be touched
samee
How To Train Your Dragon, Test Drive
|| Ok, the name of the right song is "Lord of the Shores", but still... The similarities are there ^^||
yeah I got that spoiled for me like before I even got the game, and I got it the day of release 😐
It got spoiled by someone on twitter BEFORE the pre-release. Like 3 days after the game was released to journalist and professional reviewers... Both ||Fig's death|| and ||Rookwood being the one to curse Anne||
oh yeah now that you say it its basically just a different pitch
... so I just got spoiled on the second part of that xD
i thought rookwood was an undercover good guy lmao.
I didn't know that
maybe you should avoid this channel first. this is a spoiler channel
no, there are other differences.
The second part of the first phrase is different between both, though I prefer HTTYD's version
especially ||when he tries to kill ranrok with avada kedavra||
i'm aware, I thought i knew all the spoilers by this point xD
where are you at in the main quest? ^^
YEAH!! i was cheering for that creep lmao!
ikr and then he abducts me and tries to murder me
but then i realized he was already known for bad stuffs even before being ranrok's beach XD
uhh I need to meet up with sebastian to do something, I just did the imperio quest so I don't know if I wanna speak to him in the undercroft or do this quest I don't wanna break immersion
i went to ranrok and tried avada kedavra and it legit did less damage than bombarda
like || Auror Singer || being an undercover bad guy?
you can do either ^^
that seems more likely with how lax they are
no haha was already thinking she's legit. just lazy XD
ngl ||sebastian killing solomon|| was the biggest shock in the story
ahh bugger, spoiled again
>
