just buggin out
I'd be interested to see it. owo
JKR co-wrote them and treats them as canon. She has final say on canon as the IP owner.
Yeah, well, JKR seems to think Cursed Child is Canon too.
I mean if she says it is, then it is until she says otherwise or sells/lose the IP ownership. That's just how it is.
Nope. Not in my world it’s not.
yeah cursed child is a weird take but it's as canon as canon goes
Yah thats ur mental canon, fine. Its mine aswell but just don't go into a debate on forums about what is and isn't canon and say its not canon in an unironic or serious way, else you'll just be spreading misinformation.
Yah like it or not, its canon till JKR says otherwise.
atp any hp related media is canon to me even if they clash 😆 more material to write with
TRUE
lmaoo
Headcanon, there was a squib in the Granger bloodline and that’s why Hermione is a muggleborn
Hermione don’t play for a muggleborn I’m gonna be deadass
She straight running the 1’s 😭
I'm pretty sure its already said by JK or some other HP lore, there has to be a squib or magical relative somewhere in her ancestral line for her to be witch in a family of muggles or with muggle parents
Literally what source is there on that. It defeats the entire message of the Muggle-born struggle. The entire point is that Muggle-borns just happen, there's no rhyme or reason for it and no secret magical relative, it's just normal and witches and wizards from historically magical families need to learn and accept it
Magic is genetic based in HP verse, so the magic gene has to exist somewhere in Hermione's bloodline for her to be a witch.
Like its the same as SW. Its random from the pov of people but there is a genetic component in who gets magic and who doesn't.
Magic genes were described as being "dominant and resilient". The descendants of squibs who instead integrated into the Muggle world and married would usually be Muggles, although the magical abilities occasionally resurfaced in later generations, producing a Muggle-born witch or wizard.
If Hermione's entire bloodline/ancestry was all muggles, she's never be a witch.
this guy is a geneticist
So she has to have a squib somewhere in her lineage. Its just how it is.
Are you legitimately trying to apply science to magic
magical genes
Give me a source. A canonical, tangible source. Not just speculation. Magic is hereditary, yes, but nothing ever said jack about genes. It's hereditary AND random.
ohh is it random
like a fickle power
is that why random people get awesome magical powers
dang
We ARE still talking about this???
lol has this been going on for a while or something
Yes, it's simply more likely to occur in children to magical parents, but it's not guaranteed (see Squibs), and it's also not impossible for it to just randomly occur in Muggle families. THAT is what Muggle-borns are. They're not all secretly descendants of Squibs or otherwise magical people. Again I say, that would defeat the entire purpose of the narrative.
I find it funny that we’re still trying to legitimately connect my HL character to Hermione
man and i thought a magical gene would make sense
and if two of these genes are inherited from both parents then the offspring will be the greatest witch/wizard ever!!!
and that is why pure-bloods are the best
am i right or am i right
Draco before book 6 or 7 every time he sees Hermione: f*cking mudblood
Tru.
Nope.
No not really. The point of that "pureblood supremacy" is mostly a critique on real world eugenics beliefs and aristocratic vanity alongside racial supremacy. But truthfully any witch and wizard are born with varying degrees of talents based on how much magic they can harness. Voldemort is pretty powerful but he's a half-blood
mari-chan i was just joking 😝
Ancient Magic users:
Isidora Morganach.
The Player
Lily Evans/Potter (unintentionally)
Percival Rackham
Charles Rookwood
San Bakar
Niamh Fitzgerald
That's a first...
who the hell is lily
You forgot Percival Rackham, Niamh Fitzgerald, Charles Rookwood, and San Bakar.
Its literally a thing in the lore, what can it tell ya.
No you forgot Albus Dumbledore as well
When?
He's been known to use magic from the Elder Wand afaik and truthfully Ancient Magic isn't as special as HL makes it out to be
Okay, but just using the Elder Wand doesn't mean you're using ancient magic.
It's just catalyst magic that anyone can tap into
the keepers could use ancient magic???
Yes?
i never knew wth
Have you not been paying attention to the cutscenes?
no i skipped all of them
I say unintentionally for Lily because of the sacrificial protection she put on Harry
This is why you don't skip the cutscenes.
How do you know it wasn't intentional? jw
me when i dont understand the plot because i skip all the cutscenes 😝
ok well i figured percival could use silly magic but not the other keepers
i thought they were just his pals
The point of it all is that Ancient Magic exists and can be tapped into without needing to have special circumstances tbh
Percival was the only one who could see the ancient magic, but the others used it as well.
She protected him out of motherly instinct, I don’t think she knew that she was using ancient magic to protect him

Which is why I have issues with the Keepers' storyline in HL because it violates canon lore
She might have.
But luckily it's written in a way I can easily disregard so the MC is safely not canon by the lore

I choose to believe they are. 😌
I choose to believe my MC is not canon
They are but they never f*cked anyone so the bloodline doesn’t exist in the present time
They're not canon
Lies. Effie married Sebastian. ;-;
vow of chastity or something 😭 🔥
Unlike the Cursed Child, HL doesn't really have the JKR stamp of approval
And Ludwig married Poppy
So yeah it's like Hogwarts Mystery, it's not part of the canon lore
Il take HL over CC any day
How was that wedding from the Azkaban jail cell
Ooof lol
Sebastian is being sent to Azkaban over Effie's dead body.
But eh idgaf about my MC anymore
Juliana, Anne, and Ominis beg to differ
Huh. I stand corrected via WoG then, but I still say it's stupid.
bro came in wit da fax machine 😭 🔥 💯 📠
But then again we know how Rowling feels about biology she doesn't understand and about so-called 'heritage'.
magic gene
man who would even turn sebastian in
I would've avada'd his uncle too he just pmo lmao
sweats
All my friends in Hufflepuff for some reason kekw
They know nothing of loyalty!
traitors rs
I couldn't betray sebastian not even once because as much as I was helping him he was helping me (I mean apart from the time I used crucio on him instead of letting him do it to me but that's pretty fair) 💀
My four HL characters on if they would turn Sebastian in:
Ludwig (Slytherin): Absolutely not, he helped me, I helped him, it was a heat of the moment reaction
Juliana (Ravenclaw): Absolutely, I know his uncle is a bad man, but he still used an unforgivable curse on him!
Fredrick (Gryffindor) (Upcoming): If I were in the same spot as Sebastian I think I would have the same reaction, like him, I’d also immediately regret using the curse but I wouldn’t turn him in
Erika (Hufflepuff) (Upcoming): I absolutely would, killing someone at any age is wrong, regardless of the fact that he was a bad man
it's pretty obvious but both of my HL characters being Slytherin for one 😭
Niklaus: Absolutely not he would've done the same thing had he known how to use the Killing Curse sooner, but he wouldn't feel regret to it as he despised his Uncle.
Lillith: She would've done the same being put in Sebastian's Position but she wouldn't take his Uncle from him, regret her actions? She wouldn't as she only fought his uncle in attempts to protect Sebastian as she seems to have a soft spot for him.
lilli on point w protecting big sebas rs
gryffindor is the only other house I actually like, huffle and raven just pmo asides from poppy 😭
;-; Hufflepuff is best house.
Agreed.
Iirc doesn’t The Cursed Child take place like 130 years after HL
Someone better make a Malfoy so we can have a pureblood Bloodline go from HL to The Cursed Child
Why don't you make one, then?
"to The Cursed Child" Also, ew.
Fredrick Malfoy—Poppy Sweeting
Abraxas Malfoy—-???
Lucius Malfoy—Narcissa Black/Malfoy
Draco Malfoy—-Astoria Greengrass
Scorpius Malfoy
Done
Abraxas Malfoy.
I just read Narcissa’s wiki and no shot my Slytherin character ties into this bloodline
ngl people actually neglecting the unforgivable curses and imprisoning sebastian js pmo
LOVELY
I am way to lazy to add all these schmucks
😭
Excluding Narcissa, Lucius, Scorpius, and Draco
Imagine Draco reading his family tree for the heck of it and seeing one of his ancestors was a Gryffindor and married a Hufflepuff
Draco would probably have to memorize his family tree from the time he was, like, 5.
Bro would be disgusted with his great grandparents with them being a Gryffindor and Hufflepuff
They're only his great-grandparents.
I think Draco would be intrigued now, but back in his school days (excluding year 7) he’d be disgusted
man would spit it rs
@hot lark In my headcanon, Anne is Molly's grandmother. 😌
My new headcanon with the Malfoys, Ludwig is somehow tied to the line thanks to Narcissa (yeah, I made his last name Black)
I know. c:
The Black line wasn’t racist right?
Molly?
Molly Prewett-Weasley.
So Ron’s mom is Molly Weasley Jr or II?
No, Molly is Anne's granddaughter in my universe.
Also imagine naming your kid Ginerva 💀
I like the name Ginevra, actually.
Yeah. :c Tru.
I remember when the fanbase thought her real name was Virginia.
Ginny can come from Virginia
I know. c: That's why people thought so.
Imagine being the most kind and and helpful student in Hogwarts only to tell Professor Fig that you want all that power that’s tucked away underneath the school to yourself
Now that I have the secret Honeydukes passage available I think I’m just going to use that to get to Hogsmeade instead of the normal way
But....you can't get out of the cellar except by going back the way you came.
That is what I did. I imagined that my character would be manipulative and pretending to be the perfect student while having dark wishes underneath.
I imagine she knew Fig would die or she wouldn't have told him she was keeping it for herself.
Juliana: meeting Amit in Hogsmeade for a “date” hey, sorry I’m late but I made it!
Amit: No issue but why are you drenched?
Juliana who missed a jump and fell into the pond within the secret passageway: Oh, no reason
Haha
She would miss a jump
First and last names for all my characters
Ludwig Hector Black (Slytherin)
Juliana Rosè Granger (Ravenclaw)
Fredrick Jackson Malfoy (Griffyndor)
Erika Virginia Longbottom (Hufflepuff)
this guy needs to learn on how to google surnames 😭 🔥
this guy shares surnames with other people in the series
Yes, and....?
nothign wrong with it ofc but i just find it funny
My character's name in the game is Eleanore Avery but she is pretending to be Gwen Fawley. It is a long story xD
I liked picking big names as well but in the sense of looking up pure-blood families
Did you play the story entirely with all?
Not Gryffindor or Hufflepuff yet
I’m done with Slytherin and in the middle of Ravenclaw
Oooh fun
I did Slytherin and plan on doimg Hufflepuff after
I want that house specific quest
And my plan is to focus on combat with plants
I am almost done with my first play through with my slytherin character. Her name is Kylie Snape.
So question. Which house should i do next? Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw?
Hufflepuff, obvs.
puff seems to be a favorite bcs of their jackdaw quest
Cool! Definitely doing that then! It was honestly a toss up between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.
Puff is a favorite because we're awesome. c:
Ravenclaw has the best Jackdaw quest (no)
I'm sure it does in some possible universe.
Ma’am, you can’t tie Kylie to Serverus, he’s known as The Half Blood Prince
Valid! Slytherin and Hufflepuffs are buddies so that makes sense.
And why can't I? Just because he's known as The Half Blood Prince. Besides it's a game and my character can be whoever i want her to be.
the ollivanders quest is interesting too tbh
If the alternative is watching paint dry.
Oh wait, it can, the Snape side is pure blood, the Prince line was muggleborn
No.
i'm romanticising it bcs of how utterly boring the headless hunt was for us gryffs
😂 True, the Gryffindor quest wasn't much better.
Was it the Prince side that was pureblood and the Snape side muggleborn?
Eileen Prince was pureblood, and Tobias Snape was a muggle.
Yup and like Juliana, unfortunately for @frail wedge, there needs to be a squib somewhere in the Snape line to reach Tobias
Er...? Tobias wasn't muggleborn.
THEN HOW DOES SNAPE’S LINE WORK
Tobias is a muggle. Eileen is a pureblood.
Severus is half-blood.
Is Tobias a squib then or was the Snape line strictly muggleborn
No. The Snape line is muggle.
So....can't the character be a Snape and have had a child that was a squib later on (or in a different generation)?
Only if that person had a squib child with a witch or wizard, because they themselves are not a witch or wizard.
And due to the squib shame, the name is not in records
What I’m saying is for Kylie Snape to reach Serverus, there needs to be a squib somewhere in the Snape line and no magic anywhere else
So it can work
I suppose Kylie could've had a squib child, who mated with a muggle, and Tobias was their child or grandchild.
But. Her husband would've had to take her last name, or else she would've had to give her child her last name.
We basically determined that for Juliana to reach Hermione, somewhere in the Granger line there had to be a squib that reaches down to Mr. Granger with no magic in between
Could happen
Mhm
I keep forgetting that Hogwarts Legacy is before Harry Potter.
lol
It’s 120 years before so that’s why we’re making Headcannon lines for our characters
Only about 100 years before.
Oh right
I was thinking HL to The Cursed Child
it's cool that you guys put a lot of effort into building your chars
:3 ty.
I’ve come up with first, middle, and last name linages for each house 💀
c:
they're all connected to canon lineages?
Black, Granger, Malfoy, Longbottom
hoo boy 😆 where do you even get the brain juice to think of 4 separate lores
mine's just a random muggleborn
I came up with the brainchild that Ludwig Black connects to Fredrick Malfoy thanks to Narcissa Black
Later Malfoy when she married Lucius
Imagine I make a Longbottom story where Erika’s wand is passed down through generations after the repository is sealed and the wand goes from her to her child, then to Augusta, then to Frank or Alice, once they get tortured into insanity by the Lestranges it goes back to Augusta to keep it out of the Death Eaters hands and then it gets given to Neville by Augusta when she believes he’s ready (he never uses it but holds on to it as an heirloom, then him and Hannah pass that wand to their kid (when they have one) when they believe the child is ready
his bottom... is long 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
You're reaching. Ravenclaw's quest was boring asf
A nothingburger that had nothing going on about the bigger arc. No lore, no plot, no purpose.
Easily the worst quest in the game
You could write it out of the story and nothing will change.
At least the other three had a purpose to the Jackdaw narrative
really? and a quest about toast isnt as pointless? lol
That quest sucked too but narratively it still had a purpose even if explained off screen. At least you know why Jackdaw met his terrible demise: He was two timing the girls. One got horribly jealous and framed the other for murder.
true, in hindsight i just remembered how the wand wasn't even recovered and nothing happened after 🤔
The Ravenclaw quest added nothing of value to the whole larger narrative
i dont get why that particular route was accessible without ability to see/use ancient magic
you could get all the way to the pensive guardians without it
if not, how would jackdaw get decapitated by one of them?
Yep, no ancient magic required.
every other route and trial and thing was protected by ancient magic doorways/traces/puzzles
even the one in gringotts
Truthfully it could be explained by developer oversight tbh although the doors themselves don't need AM to get into. Fig could only go as far as the entrance
The story was written in a style over substance way
the story is awesome though
"What's cool?" "Does it feel Harry Potter?"
These were what I felt were the focus during the writing
they evidently did good tying off-game lore together but not so much in-game sadly
It wasn't written to be consistent for gameplay reasons
I get it but at the time it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality
to be honest... the story of harry potter is pretty much generic rags to riches story, the world behind it, its peoples, places and history thats where the fascinating fun is imho
and having good games that expand it, is great
instead of games that just mimic the books or movies
I wouldn't say rags to riches per se but moreso Arthurian Legends but Wizards
exactly as same as star wars: boy discovers secret powers and embarks on a quest of self discovery to save the world
yeah i like the direction they're going for but it defo needs polishing
Harry being a Chosen One and having a great destiny is just parallels to Arthur. His mentor figure being a really old guy kinda gives it away
yeah
i swear i saw a skit saying something similar about hp and lotr
its inspired by arthurian legend and many of the ancient japanese stories too iirc
The Sword of Gryffindor is just Excalibur lol
ok now you got me thinking of holy grail
Gawain >>>> Lancelot
"if i declared myself king because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me..."
"help help im being opressed come see the hypocrisy inherent in the system!"
Ah yes the Monty Python version
yeah the only true version lol
Sir Robin the Not-So-Brave
"he turned and run away!" 🎵
"i didnt!"
one of my friends had a pair of killer rabbit of caerbannog slippers 😄
i think lotr is inspired by something else entirely, but i get the feeling JKR was inspired by the one ring with horcruxes
theyre exactly the same thing, i vessel for part of your self, soul and power, in an object created by hatred
And Narnia with the Founders eerily mirroring the four siblings
you know a bunch of those authors all used to get together in a pub in the south of england
they had a writers club where theyd sit and have a beer together
But Tolkien's lore is mostly based on Norse mythos
CS Lewis, J R R Tolkien and a few others
apparently christopher lee saw them there once and was one of the few in the LOTR movies to have actually met tolkien
if not the only one
Huh I didn't know that Christopher Lee actually met them
So he had input in that scene?
the director said "so wormtongue will stab you from behind and you gotta go AAAGH and die loudly"... christopher lee said "no ive heard what happens wen someone dies of being stabbed from behind, its like THIS..." and you got the gasp and die bit
apparently he worked for the naval secret service or something in WW2
and he saw some messed up real life james bond stuff
Ahhh I see
I have heard that the movies did do some liberties in fleshing out some minor characters
yeah
Like Boromir was made more tragic than his book counterpart
have you read the books?
A little bit when I was younger for cram school
definitely worth a read
Mostly The Hobbit since it was part of the curriculum
some day i'd like to have time to read game of thrones, also heavily inspired by tolkien
the author openly admits it, and considers it a good thing, i agree, its a great source material to be inspired by
I am going to the bookstores at the start of the New Year to fetch LOTR tho
Going to pick up a copy of Dune too
if you have seen the hobbit, and read the books, youll be shocked
The GoT books are excellent. Even the boring chapters.
I have actually
the hobbit is like 120 pages long, its massively fleshed out to make 3 movies
i havent read hobbit since i was like 11
The movies and the books. Quite different in some ways
tolkien, steve jackson and ian livingstone inspired me to become the person i am today
i used to read a lot of high fantasy, and sj/il fighting fantasy books, it inspired me to create my own, and from there into game development
i was in my 20s before HP became a big thing
the characters in HP were in school at the same time, in the same years i would have been in school
I see
I'm trying to build a collection of fantasy books. Trying to look at Ursula K Le Guin's stuff too
interesting
I can't stomach the Booktok recommendations though
do you also like sci fi?
I can't read Sarah J Maas for example
Yes I do
i would also like to read the dune series
and one of my favourite books as a kid was hitch hikers guide to the galaxy, and restaraunt at the end of the universe
I've heard of the first book but not the second one
Can someone help me come up with a last name for my character? Crucius is his first name.
What's his background?
If I wanted to be edgy I'd name him Crucius Erasmus
He's a hufflepuff.
crucius malitiae
Ooh! Two great last names. Which families do they go with?
i had no imagination and called my character Brain Brain, as im not used to games forcing me to choose a first and surname
it worked fine
Sounds like a smart character
as teachers/professors call him brain and so do his friends
smart and manipulative, loves to gaslight his friends into teaching him unforgivable curses
but never just outright evil, hes the sort who would snitch on you to appear the goody two shoes in class
so that nobody would suspect him of anything bad ever
I usually make up my own lore. Like perhaps one of the extinct Pureblood families that did not make it to when the Sacred 28 were listed in the 1930s
i mean he ||promised to keep AM contained and keep it a secret|| but he had his fingers crossed behind his back
Because there were many more bloodlines before then but went extinct due to intermarriage with half-bloods/other families or they become Squibs
do wizarding families become squibs?
No?
i didnt think that was how it worked, its like a regressive gene isnt it, the wizarding powers resurface later in families that were considered to be muggles
They could. Some do depending on how the bloodline could thin out in terms of Magical potential if they all married Muggles
hence muggle born wizards
I'd like to think that's how Muggleborns are a concept
So the Muggles become the dominant gene then suddenly a witch/wizard in the family due to recessive genes
yeah, that would make sense
perhaps its not genetic at all, its more ....magical... than that.... its just thats only way us muggles can perceive it
Mayhaps
Either way the science based reasoning or a magical reasoning are both acceptable
this was said jokingly by jkr but i like the idea of a gene that completely nullifies the magic gene
I was thinking maybe Moon or Ferguson
Name him Yera Wizardharry.
The Wizardharry bloodline will go beyond TCC
:3
Why do I come up with better lore for my characters’ bloodlines in HL than some authors do with their own characters
💀
Naaaah 😭
bro just casually roleplaying every character he makes
I came up with the whole wand inheritance for Erika before I even made her 😭
I mean what else are you gonna do? HL doesn't have much room for RP compared to KOTOR
True
wtf is kotor
So it's mostly up to the player to craft lore for themselves since you practically get next to nothing in game
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR)
nvm i know what that is
Ooh!
I did the same thing with my sibling mcs in HL
hey, just finished the game for my first time, and I have a question, how many endings are there, and are they different by a lot?
There's actually only one ending that stays relatively the same just different cutscene outcomes and they don't impact gameplay
so, if in my cutscene there Fig died, any chance if I do something different during my 2nd playthrough he wouldnt die, for example? or does like his death still stays no matter what i do?
He dies no matter what.
oh, alright. Ty for info
It's such a tragic plot choice 😭
Poppy is best girl and you can’t tell me otherwise
Poppy is indeed best girl.
indeed
I prefer Natty personally, but I also really enjoyed Poppy's plot line.
Poppy should’ve gone to Hogsmeade with you if Hufflepuff was selected
She should've been an option, anyway. Although to be honest, Effie would probably still go with Sebastian every time.
Would Effie use Avada Kedavra to protect Sebastian?
Juliana: I’ve been running around Hogwarts helping everyone! Poor Sebastian’s being waiting in Feldcroft for Merlin knows how long now! I hope Effie’s not too upset that I forgot about meeting him @topaz dagger
Effie is my Hufflepuff.
Yes, she absolutely would. Effie's magic is strongest when she's protecting others.
Effie would be pissed that you stood him up. :c
Ahh ok
No.
Why not
We can rant tg
I wasn't saying no to you ranting. I was just not going to listen. 🙂
So why respond
Skibidi
Just joking around. You hadn't ranted and you asked someone to listen. Just wanted to be difficult.
We should be friends
If you want, feel free to dm me.
nah i wanna rant here
Don't do it.
why?
Still being difficult.
😭
im jus gonna rant
i rlly like the first game and it was well received at release (apparent from the sales)
but there are so many things that i feel like would have been better if they'd been done differently
dont get me wrong, the game is great and they did a ton of good stuff
i think something that a ton of fans wanted was to receive their hogwarts letter, y'know - it being one of the most iconic moments in the series
we missed diagon alley, we missed the experience of being a first year.
I know that it's difficult to have such a young kid be the protag of a video game considering they're not very powerful...
but i think we could have gone to classes as a first year, acting like a tutorial almost. then we shift to our 5th year experience for the main game
no
no?
no
no
yes
yes
I read absolutely nothing you said but I agree
read it, im not sure if its any good...
whats ac3
assassins creed 3
never played it
also, considering its such a different genre, it wouldn't be a direct copy
like itd be a good idea but that would take a while ngl
certainly yea
one of the reasons people love hl imo is they get to experience it from the get go
being sorted, the combat, hogwarts etc
hm
i think having to progress up to your 5th year would cancel out a lot of things to make it work
oh no no no
okay no
not progress, you'd go through a few classes as a first year to serve as a tutorial
but then you'd timeskip to 5th year
not have to progress through it
im a sped i see
LMAO
LMAO
im not great at typing anyway 😪
also, i hate that we spend almost no time in hogwarts
i fw the forest a lot
i love that the game gets us to go out and explore the world but i'd be perfectly fine if there were more missions in the castle
no so do i
but i think a missed oppurtunity was use of the expecto patronum spell considering its kinda iconic
yes...100%
i think dementors wouldve been a cool enemy
REALNESS
also
why wouldnt ragnarok control dementors like voldemort did?
voldemart gained control of the dementors through an offer of more oppurtunity to feed on ppl
no
oh.
i feel like if ragna could control dementors itd be alittle weird
howcome?
fair
the dementors didnt serve voldemort cuz he was voldemort, they served him cuz voldemort offered them sumn
he was kinda all in on the chaos him and his skinhead lookin ah
he sorta looked like an old mans thumb
its just a different magic and it wouldnt really fit him as a character
😭
i guess so yea
like he was manipulating emotion he wasnt really a magic being due to using goblins armor as a way to harness it
fair fair
or metal or wtv
idrk too much ab that
tom was the darklord because he genuinely had a connection to the dark arts and dark magic a like being the heir to slytherin so he was born into it, he had a connection to it from almost the start and ragnarok was just a scam
right, yea
like for someone who was that "strong" dude legit got bodied and he turned into a whole on dragon
i think victor rookwood was the coolest fight
can i be true
i hope if they make a hl2 they involve spell clashing
i never finished the game, havent even fought him
i knew what the final boss was before anything because it got spoiled by a random yt video popping up
RAD IS FIRE LMAO
i watch him when a new game i like comes out
realness
anyway, back on topic
i think they did great for a first open-world triple A harry potter game
nah i never learned em
ill be brutally honest with you from what I know learning them doesnt do sh
yea...
i suppose its just if you want your character to be more on the good side when it comes to personal thought
i lit didnt learn them cuz i knew that there isnt a morality system
i learnt them as soon as i could and started spamming avada lmao
i 100% think they're going to implement a moral system in the new game tho
i feel bad for doing it
rip ima be worse then voldemort
did u play ghosts of tsushima
both of my mcs are just brutal
😭
yes
i always play games like shimura wants me to
i do it with honour, I always make sure its a decently fair battle
thats why i hate stealth
..
it makes them a lil harder
"decently fair battle"
well i know it wasnt in hl
proceeds to get shot ts out of by a random arrow launching thing
pardon?
those stupid ballista launcher things
they just mow you down mid fight its a pain
thats why I always disabled traps before any standoff if i saw them in view
eh not too much if you deal with them correctly
i always let an enemy attempt to hit me first
how I played ghost was really high speed and brutal imo
i always had ghost stance and i always relied on parkour
i did it slow *pause)
i only used the first stance
id pick a route jump down stab someone hit a chain, smoke kill the rest and hit the next area and if i got in a big fight id chop em down real quick with ghost stance
i just love high speed fast pace in ghost
i think its cool
fair enough traditional samurai style
was it? I just didnt see a reason to use another
ANYWAY this is a hl server, les keep it that way
yes
y'know what i wanted?
but just so you know switching stance mid combos does some pretty cool stuff and the reason for switching stances is to help you with spear enemies, shield enemies etc
CO-OP
i was about to say that..
WHYYY NO COOP
are you in my head?
yes
I think its ridiculous that they didnt add co-op
imagine just standing there with your mate after wiping out a whole area and then avadaing ts out of him 😭
considering that the movies had the golden trio you'd think they'd let us sort of make our own
my main mc character: "ayo ion care about plants they can die for all i care"
his sister: "flowerrr preeetttty flower ;3"
true
oh
basically thats Sebastian ominis and the mc being said you do the questline
if you turn in sebastian lowkey ima crucio you
like i would have loved to play with a friend, it feels super lonely - especially with the sheer scale of the castle, it feels empty
well there is one way but if you say it in the server the community or the staff has a cry at you
what? mods?
skibidi
anyway
i also think if they added co-op, we could have used the dueling thing more, to 1v1 with friends
of course with restricted spells
yeah 😭
if you get avada early game its restricted to use the 3 curses without a way to bypass it anyway, for exampling the opening duel with sebastian
night night
bye
bai bai
Not really Fallout 3 did it way back in 2008 and it's just like you want it to be: a tutorial sequence that gets timeskipped until you reach adulthood when the game really begins.
I feel like they could have made it so that you were a First Year in Hogwarts in the tutorial segment then the main game begins in Fifth Year rather than an uber special Mary Sue
I'm personally not a fan of this "le special ever student to ever exist" trope. Even Harry felt like he was more human and practically followed the Chosen One trope to a tee
Juliana;accepts Deek’s quest to find Tobbs
Also Juliana the moment she steps in the cave:Oh f*** you Deek!
She’d be even more pissed that Juliana completely agrees with Anne, Ominus, and Solomon on that idea of what Sebastian is doing is a terrible idea
The moment that Juliana saw the Acromantuala’s leg she nearly went “F*** this, I’m out” but she knew she had to press on for Deek, and by extension, Professor Weasley
Quite possibly. nods
Happy new year all
@topaz dagger
Sebastian meeting up with Effie and feeling nauseous from the guilt of nearly killing Juliana outside the Slytherin scriptorium with the Cruciatus curse
Sebastian: I-I had to do it, I really didn’t want to hurt Juliana that badly, but we needed to get that door open to the scriptorium by using the Cruciatus Curse, I won’t be able to forget the pain she was in
Effie: But she stood you up and left you waiting in Feldcroft for a long time sooooooo
Sebastian: EFFIE! NOW’S NOT THE TIME!
lol, Effie's not petty enough to say that....out loud.
Lmao
i agree with this
:3 Effie appreciates that.
@topaz dagger
A few days after the death of Solomon and Juliana and Ominus meet outside the undercroft
Ominus: I never wanted to do it but we had to, he murdered his uncle
Juliana:I know, I really didn’t want to but I believe we did the right thing
Effie bumping into them while looking for Sebastian: Hey guys! You haven’t seen Sebastian have you?
Juliana: trying to come up with a way to break the news that Sebastian was sent to Azkaban
Ominus: Well Effie, you see-
Juliana: Hey, I’m sorry and we didn’t want to do this either but we turned Sebastian in, we just couldn’t bare letting someone who murdered his own family walk free
I feel like Effie would try and attack them out of sorrow and rage but Juliana would launch her into a wall with either Depulso or Bombarda out of protective instinct
That’s definitely not the right thing. Solomon needed to die/I would only wish Azkaban on my worst enemy. And Effie would be able to reign in her rage until the opportune moment for revenge. She’s not an assassin for nothing.
I dunno. She might attack them...or she might just storm out of there and plot the first-ever breakout from Azkaban.
Effie the character. Not Me-Effie.
Juliana would probably defend Ominus and probably instantly regret nearly or actually breaking Effie’s back when launching her into a wall with Bombarda or Depulso
ANCIENT MAGIC FIIIIIIGHT.
Effie: "I'm gonna' break Sebastian out of jail, but first, I'm gonna break your face!"
I see. I see. Keeping the character’s assassin skills on the down low. Your secret is safe.
lol.
to get to the map chaimber
each house has a unique quest, ive done all aside from slytherin so far
hufflepuf has the most fun quest out of the lot there i have to say
but who knows maybe slytherin has something even better
Hufflepuff’s was the best by far
I thought the toast thing for Slytherin was so random
yeah it was a bit odd
Like how would the giant squid know it likes toast, it would get soggy the second it touched the water 💀
maybe thats exactly the way it likes its toast
hufflepuff also has one of the nicer common rooms
slytherin second, main downside is that it looks like they live in the sewers
and thats all of them
NICE
Excuse me, we most certainly do not
i mean it looks like it
Are you referring to the waterways beneath the dorms?????
no just the dorms themselves and the general vibe
i like the windows to the lake those are a nice touch
thats why its my 2nd fav, but the general look is way too sewer-y to be no.1
Noah is weird.
Hufflepuff’s common room is my favorite
same
That’s actually my favorite part, that and the windows, the only thing I don’t like is the giant columns, with how tall the ceilings are it feels so cold and intimidating
its just a bit too sewer-y to me
but its my second fav
Yeah I get that
I love all the common rooms, except Gryffindor’s is just too small for my taste
yeah agreed, although ravenclaw isnt much better
I like Ravenclaw's common room, it's quite pretty, but i wish it were more open/allowed more natural light
Same.
Me too! It’s super pretty, I think it would be cool if there was like a balcony or something, but I guess since you’re in the astronomy tower it’s not that big of a deal 🤷🏽♀️
Profesor figggg nooooooo
WHY CANT I SAVE HIM
devs want us to have our uncle ben moment 😔
“With great power comes great numbers of dead poachers!”
and Ominis peacefully chilling next to you 😁
HE'S SO ADORABLE
I wonder what he's dreaming about... 🫶
I’ve seen video about guy who was born blind. And he said he can’t see in his dreams either. that’s cool, he only hears, smell etc. but can’t see anything…
Yeah, I figured he wouldn't see anything. But I still wonder what he's dreaming about. It looks like a nice dream. :3
yup, true
But the best moment here was, when professor Bins brings the class to the hall and tell them to look for something… Ominis sits down in the middle of the floor and eats an apple 😂 guess that’s what you get when telling the blind kid to look for something 🤣🤣🤣
😂 omg, best response.
I still facepalm at MC telling imperio'd Ominis not to move until they and Sebastian are "out of sight."
Only a heartless would cast imperio on Ominis 😭😭😭
You can easily find a compromise with him 😭
Srsly, casting Imperio on blind kid who already has been through Cruciatus is so damn cruel and heartless...
To be fair, MC just makes him stand there.
Still not enough reason to do so...
Just saying, it could've been a lot worse.
He can be easily convinced
I honestly was scared to finish Sebastians questline, because I thought he will cast avada on Ominis, because he would try to stop him... Then Imperio was definitely the better option...
That would've been so damn sad.
Yeah... glad it wasn't him... still terrible things to happen. I didn't finish the questline on my first run, because I believe that's the only truly good decision to make...
Ominis lives happily ever after, and nobody can tell me otherwise. 😤
@feral locust that is also answer for our previous conversation as well...
Well according to a canon story Ominis most likely couldn't live longer than 30, because is brother Marvolo and Marvolo's children were the only Gaunts left in that years...
My personal idea is, Ominis is smart enough and disagree with his family, so he could also erase memories of him being a Gaunt and thus be free of the name and disappear to live far away from all of this... I hope he did that. He definitely is smart enough to do so...
Marvolo being his brother isn't Canon, so...
I never had to use imperio on Ominis, he did nothing wrong. But if I had to choose a side to defend because things got worse and Sebastian would have not listen to reason, I would have sided with Ominis
That's what I think too. He really did not want anything to do with his family anymore...
More likely Ominis could end up blasted off the family tree and thus not considered a Gaunt anymore.
Agreed
It's most likely true... it fits the timeline
It’s possible. I’m just saying, it isn’t a fact.
I know, but is very probable... there wasn't much Gaunts left this timeline either...
Marvolo could also have been one of Ominis’ uncles or cousins.
Well, considering his siblings were raw enough to cast cruciatus on him, it's quite probable one of them was Marvolo... described as "violent, bigoted, mindless old fool"
Hey, I am a big subscriber to the “Marvolo is Ominis’ big bro” theory. :3
Stupid enough to do that and violent that much he couldn't even attend Hogwarts
Ominis is probably last pure blooded Gaunt attending Hogwarts... So it also means he is most likely also the most skilled and smartest of the Gaunts left...
He’s dreaming about the girl next to him
I’ve been thinking…
What appearance you guys think would boggart take in front of Ominis? Like… he is blind and boggarts take an appearance of the ones biggest fear, but since Ominis has never seen anything before, he can’t even imagine it 🤯
the screams of tortured innocents?
Might be... but my friend thinks you have to be able to see the boggart for it to get any form, so it would mean Ominis would be immune 🤷🏻♀️
It would definitely probably doesn't have any form, just sounds. But boggarts are not about sounds...
i wonder if ominis would die if he made eye contact with a basilisk snake thing
since hes blind
sounds like he'd make the perfect heir to control the basilisk
I don't think so. He would be immune as well, you have to look into it's eyes 🤷🏻♀️
this one's also an interesting take. the way boggarts work, they must have some ability to read minds though idk if eye contact is necessary.
True. But from what I've understood he doesn't like to be able to speak parselmouth, being a descendant from Salazar himself and worse just part of the Gaunt family. The only good thing he had from his lineage was Aunt Noctua. Now that she's gone, I tend to think he would leave his so called family as soon as he's able to...
Probably true, still he would be able to do so
agreed! i like to think his family probably was trying to shape him up to be the heir given his circumstances but it only resulted in him despising everything that has to do with the dark arts
That's what makes him so interesting... he would be perfect heir of Salazar, but he doesn't want to... I believe he could have been the reason why Gaunts fall so deep... he was most likely last pure blooded member who attended Hogwarts and refused all that came with it.
Why control a basilisk if you don't want to have anything to do with Salazar ? You can't have it as a pet and his only utility would be to "kill" mudbloods. Wich is against everything Ominis believe in
But he can't even imagine anything. He never see anything in his life. He can't even see in his dreams
I meant it in a way I mentioned above.
Just imagine if it was Tom Riddle in Ominis' place, what he could've done ? Crazy
He has all the potential to be such a heir, but refuses it, which is what makes him such amazing character
Exactly
Totally !
right, which must be pretty mindboggling for a boggart. we've only seen it take the form of visual fears so the question is whether it can also mimic other stimuli 🤔
i hope we get a second part of sebastians storyline in the second game, not just because of sebastian but because his storyline was more interesting than the main one
the main one was so boring to me
and i hope we get more of ominis because he has SO much potential
Exactly what I meant...
It would probably affect his other senses so it could still be a thing he were most afraid of. Voices of family members and so on...
i like to think so too. since boggarts are manifestations of emotions and not a being, i think they'd be a bit more versatile in nature.
For exemple if he was tortured by Marvolo, he would hear his voice taunting him, sense the cold room he was in when it was happenning, the smell around him (marvolo's perfume) and other things. It would be enough to be scared I think...
but whe Neville was scared of professor Snape, the boggart didn’t say the word…
Maybe he was scared more of his presence, him being in the same room ?
Wait, wasn't Hermione's boggart Professor McGonagall telling her she failed all of her exams ? Wich include talking ? Or can you hear the voices in your head perhaps ? It is never stated that they absolutely don't speak
Third book I do believe so
yes i believe that's correct
Ok, I didn't know that... 🤔
That would explain what Ominis would feel if it does happen to him
Yup, it would probably doesn't have any form, but only sounds then🤷🏻♀️
now i'm just thinking about how to cast riddikulus at disembodied voices 😆
From the book, if you don't mind of course "Hermione did everything perfectly until she reached the trunk with the Boggart in it. After about a minute inside it, she burst out again, screaming.
“Hermione!” said Lupin, startled. “What’s the matter?”
“P-P-Professor McGonagall!” Hermione gasped, pointing into the trunk. “Sh-she said I’d failed everything!”
It took a little while to calm Hermione down. When at last she had regained a grip on herself, she, Harry, and Ron went back to the castle. Ron was still slightly inclined to laugh at Hermione’s Boggart, but an argument was averted by the sight that met them on the top of the steps."
Other people can't hear, but you can if it is your boggart I think
Cool
How would he cast ridiculous then?
i gotta hit the sack but you two carry on 🙂 fun discussion, i'll catch up in the morn
Like any other spell, and it would transform the voices and ambience to I don't know, Sebastian doing/talking funny things ?
Okay, take care !
Why does the Japanese dub have more emotion behind the MC yelling “ロドゴク!!” (Lodgok) when he dies than the English dub with the MC yells “No!”
I disagree tbh
The Japanese voice acting for the female MC was not that great imho
The voice actress' voice is also distorted when you mess with the pitch
The male was better
Tho the male Japanese MC has more emotions
I haven't heard most of the cast but Fig was decent for the elderly sensei type
I think only other character I heard was Sebastian and he fr be sounding like a shounen anime character
What ruins the immersion for me is that all the spells remain voiced in English
https://youtu.be/TrD2DlPVuB0?si=CFlpIl140vQcBo4C Garlick Sensei has mommy vibes in her Japanese voice
the japanese dub is kinda a hit or miss, great on some parts, but not the others
kinda sad they turned natty into a really generic character
Generic how?
like you can't discern her with other characters
What do you mean? How so?
https://youtu.be/LJo6Rt_U9yk?si=ze19SNPTDw-gzq6s
Maybe it's just me, I feel like she's turned to some regular anime character
It's kinda hard to carry over ethnic accents to different languages, especially ones as strong as Natty's.
yet funny enough, I don't feel that with ronen at all
Probably due to language/accent structure.
It’s probably pretty hard to match a Zimbabwean accent while speaking Japanese so that’s probably why Natty sounds pretty generic
ravenclaw did get kinda forgotten with the whole "companion" part, only one that doesnt really have a questline
also all others have parent issues in one form or another
yeah he only has 2 quests, the rest have quite a lot
tbf he was never part of the plot to begin with
honestly if I were given a choice I'd pick rowland over amit
too bad companions arent really companions
at some points I'd prefer them to stay back and let me handle the fights instead of ruining my feats
they could've make it better but... oh well
yes but aside from that
they only join you in some missions and have little in the way of actual dialogue beside those missions
Me too. We know he can speak fluently.
I feel so empty without profesor fig
Thought about hik for hours
Him
But atleast the snowy theme is gone
Oh goody time to play again. I liked it without the snow
Btw, my brother stupidly didnt get the Avada Kedavra curse lol
Breh
How did you get the snow to go away?
Stupidly? Why stupidly?
System update?
It is not like that, it is progression based, so when you get to a certain point of the game it starts and after the story line end it is gone
At least that what happened to me
Not in my experience. Weird.
Ah that kinda makes sense
iirc shouldn't it be spring/summer when it's time for OWL?
Yes
Yep.
Is it based on real life seasons then?
it was a long while ago for me, but I think it does change to that at the end
And yes it is progression based seasons, because in this account that I still dont have it completed it is still snowy
I don't wanna be stuck in perpetual winter after completing the Christmas time end of semester stuff
😂
.
The snow will be gone when you finish the game
Ah ok
That's 255 days. 🤣
So just get better
At least it should be.
It doesn't go away for me.
Yeah made a new account at around october 2024 because I thought the snow is forever lol
though in exchange I was trapped in eternal daytime
Just saying
Yes they did. This makes no sense, unless Victor Rookwood just happens to have a wand core from the exact same animal as the MC.
It's just for a game effect 🤷🏻♀️
It's not lore-accurate.
@topaz dagger Effie’s not going to be happy
Didn't MC also break a few laws /hj
But they didn't get caught
Sebastian technically didn't either but some people decided to turn him in therefore making him guilty
Unfortunately for them, Effie knows Avada Kedavra too. O-O
Dang
I’m glad Juliana got to celebrate Ravenclaw winning the House Cup but deep down she feels it’s not the same without Sebastian (who’s rotting away in Azkaban for Avunculicide), and Professor Fig there to cheer her on
He won't cheer with you even if you spared him if you're a Slytherin lol
Do you think there's a plot reason he sits it out or do you think the devs got lazy because they didn't want to code him in and out depending on whether the player sent him away
HL2 will answer that!!
Don’t know what they’re fighting abt but… 😅
wonder what kind of ghost i'd be if i haunt hogwarts
😭
Just saw this lol
lmao probably the dumbest way i could have gotten this chest
i don't even know what the proper solution is, and i was getting pissed off
😭 BRUH
Love when ya get too mad to properly solve a problem but you end up fixing it somehow XD
Wait is that in the weird Room of Requirement maze thing
The "proper" solution is pulling the front crate aside, then dragging the back crate (with the chest on top of it) forward.
I just want to ask, HOW did you do this 🤦♀️
Same
i leviated the crate with the chest, acciod it on top of the other crate in that small room, and then i accioed the lower crate a bunch and leviated the chest crate and it did this
yeah
And I thought I got mad when I was trying to figure out Stupefy 😂
I had a hard time understanding what the game meant by holding down the button
yeye i misread stupefy as spotify
because nothing was happening, and then I understood after I messed up 3 times
i too didn't get how to do stupefy until a bit of trial and error
i was letting it go too soon
same
my husband thought me and him had the same quests, because when he mentioned the mirror paintings with the moths on it, I had no clue what he was talking about, and then I met someone who informed me about it literally a day after my husband told me about the quest
at least you noticed them 🥲 i p much speedran this part and missed everythinggg
Why your bio immedatly say married lol
so yeah, violence also runs in your homies :v
what are the dark arts anyway? like what does the concept entail? is it when a wizard/witch uses any magic for evil purposes? is it specific spells that are deemed evil on their own?
can a dark arts user be a decent person?
good question i too am curious
I would consider Sebastian both a Dark Arts user and a decent person
they are forbidden for a reason. Ominis tells you more about that since he is from the family of dark arts users… forbidden curses are forbidden, because you have to truly mean them for them to work. So for example cruciatus work properly only if you truly want to torture the person.
avada kedavra is damaging the caster souls.
Well, not so much Avada Kedavra specifically as the act of killing in general
what if someone who is good went about using avada kedavra on bad people
does that make them bad
Ominis said it nicely:
"The Dark Arts seem harmless until it's too late."
yes
That's extremely murky territory because what exactly are the criteria to determine a 'bad person'
so vigilantes are bad?!?!?!
what about my boy behind bars uhhh i forgot his name
he shot some ceo
Allegedly.
Allegedly indeed!!
And that's a whole ass converstion that doesn't belong in this server since it's not a hypothetical
there should be more interhouse rivalry in this game
i hate seeing these gryffindors and slytherins getting along
and ravenclaws and slytherins
and hufflepuffs and slytherins
and slytherins and slytherins
That's cool, we on the other hand are tired.
tired of what
deez
deez what
if you mean house discussion in the server i don't mean that tho, i mean in game
there is canonically rivalry between houses in HP and i feel like that's missing from the game
Yes, I know.
maybe things were different in the time period the game takes place in to a degree
And the absolute severity of that rivalry was completely stupid in canon, not to mention exacerbated by the events of the war, so it makes sense that there wouldn't be such a wide rift between Slytherin and every single other House during the time of Legacy.
Lol I agree that it was dumb to dub Slytherin "the evil house" like JK did, feels off
makes sense that Voldemort's presence and actions would exacerbate the rift between houses
since there was an active war going on 10ish years before the events of the first game and most dark wizards were from slytherin thesmelves/had relatives in slytherin
Theres something called discord creeps
but that's extremely irrelevant to this server.
what subject does fig teachg
Magical Theory.
huh, did harry ever take that subject
Yes, it's a mandatory subject for first-years. We just never saw it
Or heard any mention of it.
Luckily for Professor Fig's first-years, they almost never have to actually come to class.
Pffft
deez nuts
ffs when do i learn alohomora
I wanna learn Bombarda
right after rackham's trial for alohomora
OH??
I literally took a break from Rackhams trial
ohhh that's my next mission finally
thanls
I bought my broom
I got the black one that costs 2k xD
ngl i probably should start back up on fighting enemies, just to get galleons, im broke
have you been opening chests with eye on them? they're a good source early on
I still havent figured out how to open them yet
||approach them while in disillusionment||
||Make sure to disillusion yourself out of sight of the chests||
Ohhhhh that makes so much more sense now
also bombarda won't be until much later on winter
Selling all gear except ones with the highest stats is a great way to get galleons too
yeah
tbh it's not that getting galleons is hard, it's that spending them is easy
especially on spellcrafts
Oh my god, i just discovered something on accident
||I literally held O on my ps4 controller and I turned into this blue glowing ball and I fast for like a second||
😭 I didnt know that was a thing
that's from talent
that's a talent
Swift dodge, it's a core talent
this one
Im just gonna keep expecting the unexpected
ngl it feels like a semi-apparition to me
it does
what are these balls
speed
speed boosts
ahhh makes sense
Ngl I ran past like 90% of them and still won
I only took 1 speed boost from each set and took 2 from the last set
like those rings from older harry potter games
i'm fairly sure i have ptsd from the ring minigame from PoA
bro, my character Scarlett, just said "Your bloods on Ranroks hands" that was a wicked line
which particular spell is required to solve these merlins trials
look for blue butterflies and guide them with lumos
oh thanks
they sometimes do that after killing certain enemies
"eight legs is simply too many" is what I hear often
I only heard that 2 times
i giggle a bit every time i hear that line 😆
just means you haven't seen that many spiders yet
I already did Richard Jackdaws quest
Ive seen a lot of spiders, its just she didnt say it a lot
there's a lottt of spider lairs coming your wayy
way more than in jackdaw's
I swear they give us more spiders than goblins or dark wizards
fr
My husband has arachnophobia and ||didnt turn off the mode, so when it zoomed in on that purple thronback spider, he turned his head and said|| "Can you not zoom in like that?" it genuinely made me laugh because theyre not real
oh dear 😅
idk if you've met the matriarch and the acromantula but those are a few times worse
i don't even have the phobia but mantulas creep me tf out
acromantula sounds familiar
oh its that giant spider that hagrid was friends with in the movie, i havent seen that one yet in the game
aragog, yeah
it's a fun boss to fight but boi do i have jeebies after that
and i already have the heebies
i love spiders, so this is something i look forward to
nice
im still bad at them..
It took me 3 tries
Imelda reminds me of how I used to act in school xD
||Just saw a ravenclaw walking on the side of the wall, of the castle..glad to know we can just do that||
i have to say, room of requirement is very cool
i love that you can decorate it a lot
bro really asking me to pay for this even though it was with my contributions he was able to sell this
he looks like he would be active in 4 different fantasy football leagues if he was a muggle ngl
Just imagine how much he's charging everyone else.
Isn't the last broom upgrade like 7.5k galleons
...youre telling me that the last broom upgrade, ONE of the upgrades are almost 8k galleons? Who's got that much 😭
Pretty sure it's 7.5k
it was aj exorbitant ampunt for sure
Wanna know who doesnt have that much galleons? Everett Clopton. Doesnt even have a broom /jk
Lmao
I forgot about the third upgrade until near endgame when i had like over 20k from fodder gear and chests
is anyone just constantly lost in the castle? i generally have pretty bad pathfinding and hogwarts is particularly confusing
since the map isn't very instructive
the mini map can be helpful at times, you can also push a certain button (idk what it is for different platforms) that will create a little shimmery path to your next objective
Imagine being scared from a video game (Horror games?!)
Yeah some times, but after some time you get used to seeing patterns and recognise rooms
it's not that i can't find the objectives(minimap just shows the way anyway) but if i don't have a particular objective it's hard to find my way
oh makes sense lol
Me? Like it is pretty easy to get, give me an hour and the map of every poacher/goblin camp and I get that and more.
Yall me and my brother finished the game at the same day
And the first thing I thought is noooo profesor fig, and my brother noooo no more story line
Nah, I memorized the layout a long time ago.
i have pretty severe aphantasia, hogwarts does not bode well
what even happens when you turn it on
Just removes dead spider clutter from the environment and changes the spider enemy models to something less scary-looking
It 'casts a Ridikulus spell' on them so they look goofy with detached boots for feet instead of terrifying to us arachnophobic folks
looks a lot scarier to me somehow 😓
why did i always think he looked like DanTDM 💀
I think I accidently just made katniss everdeen
i have 0 regrets with looking up demiguise locatinos ngl
it was so annoying not being able to open locks
locatinos
aw sadge
Prolly the most annoying part of the game for me
please feel free to take your pick
real
How about Merlin trials ?
if i ever replay the game i'm 100% doing a certain action that WB don't want us to talk about here but will enable alohomora from the start
their sheer amount is a bit staggering but at least they're easy and don't lock you out of areas
doing the rolling stone one was a pain before i unlocked depulso though because sometimes accio doesn't work, especially on flat surfaces
The number you have to finish to get the 100% of the game was way more annoying to me than to find a few demiguise....
