Shiny beasts so far! All the ones with a + icon are shiny, and I have a shiny thestral that I can't place in this vivarium because I've hit the species limit

You can unlock vivarium upgrades as you progress in the game. 3 upgrades for 4 areas total. Each can support 12 beasts of up to 4 different species. So I just need to progress more in the game to unlock the quest for a vivarium upgrade

Where do you buy these upgrades what do they do?

I don't think you buy them, I think they're quest rewards. Or at least, you have to do quests to unlock the ability to buy them. And basically they are just expansions on your vivarium. New areas with space for more beasts. The first vivarium area you get when you unlock the ability to catch beasts is meadow. Upgrades are coastal, swamp, and grasslands. Each one is its own separate area I believe, with space for 12 creatures of up to 4 different species. So once you have all the upgrades, you have space for 48 creatures total.

But I'm just going off what a guide on the internet says, I just unlocked the ability to catch creatures myself. As soon as I got that ability, I put all other quests on pause to go hunt some shinies

Going back to doing story and side quests to unlock the vivarium upgrades now

I planned all mine out. Which ones I want in which habitat. Also keep in mind you may not wanna fill all 48 slots, since down the road you unlock the ability to breed your beasts if you have a male and a female of the same kind, and the babies will take up slots in the vivariums

There are 13 species, and 12 of them have shiny variants. ||There is 1 phoenix in the game that you can acquire, and no more. It cannot be shiny|| < late-game spoilers I looked up myself

Been trying to shiny hunt this Graphorn, but the usual respawn method isn't working for me. Usually I'll go to the spawn, capture the beasts, go to map and wait, then save / reload. If no shiny I just reload and the game respawns new beasts, but not with the Graphorn. It's gender isn't even changing with the reload. The only way I can get a new one is if I capture every single time. Any suggestions or tips?

It’s just impossible, their nature is just too strong to change.

well what i did was cast Arresto Momentum on the giant pendulum, made sure it lined up with the symbols along the clock and matched with the door with the correct symbol on it. guide i found said you could use Glacius too. you know those doors with bars that open and close real fast? that's how you open those.

also make sure you get the key on Black's desk. it opens a door too the last secret i found. the first one was the brazier puzzle on the bridge

His attacks have patterns to it. Dodge frequently. Blocks are unreliable I've found. His projectil attacks will have colour coded bubbles that you can break using the corresponding colours like Red attack can be countered with red spells.

As the portraits (at least the ones you talk to,) are actual models with a filter over them to get the effect of a portrait.

Last night I did the retrieving-the-relic sidequest, and this time I chose to inform Sebastian that the note said to leave it, which Ominis was glad to hear. And I agreed with him that using it was probably more risky than Sebastian realized, and I resolved to talk to Sebastian with him about it.......Except that conversation never happened, because I immediately followed up with, '...But it's not gonna change anything, so we should just let him do what he wants,' which is pretty much what happens when you choose the option of siding with Sebastian on the issue. -_- Just with maybe slightly different wording.

My one complaint is the Playstation exclusive dlc and the dark arts arena being $20 dlc

I do. Yes, lots of waiting time for the switch version. But I've experienced no problems when I got my broom. Flying is seamless.

The dark arts arena is part of the dark arts oack which also gives cosmetics and a Thestrals mount as well as the Dark Arts Arena and way back at launch for current gen consoles, Digital deluxe also gave 3 days early access too

Yes you can still get a flying Mount even without the dark arts pack, you get one as part of a main quest.

The PlayStation exclusive quest is only exclusive for a year and that’s not Avalanche’s fault, you can blame WB for a marketing deal with Sony. Every other platform will have the haunted Hogsmeade shop on the 10th of Feb 2024 when the one year exclusivity ends

The only true PlayStation exclusive is the Felix Felicis Potioneer recipe but it doesn’t give any advantage in combat, it’s just utility by showing gear chests (The big ones that guarantee legendary gear or unidentified legendary gear) on the mini mo for like 5 irl minutes?

A timed exclusive is still better than fully exclusive. Switch players and last gen console players have less time from the game launching on their platform to wait considering its coming in February for everyone else lol

The quest is later in the game and the reward really doesn’t matter that much lol you can sell gear at a slightly higher price than at other vendors but by that point, money shouldn’t be an issue

The quest is a bit creepy, but overall not anything to get all twisted u9 about having to wait for
