And his siblings most likely.
He had it used on him as a kid until he gave in to their demands and had to cast it (and mean it) on an innocent Muggle
Rookwood needed more backstory
Of course, talk about a guy who put a serious curse on a 15 years old girl.
Agreed
He was very under-utilised.
Didn’t feel like much of a threat because we saw him like 3 times and for most of those times he didn’t do anything lol
Kind of hard to see why anyone was scared of him considering he’s more prone to running away
i got an idea : we blind him by looking at the sun and then we make him run around and if he gets too close boom crucio 🥰
I still believe Victor Rookwood grab you during the wand scene and then torture you make more sense to him.
Dude missed the killing curse like 15 times
The antagonists in this game had such a solid foundation, but too little screen time
I mean were litteraly a 15 year old, supposedly new to the magical world with some kind of mystic power running around killing and torturing anyone who stligthly disagree with us so it make sense that he run away from us
Just like his lieutenant. We saw Harlow once at the beginning and once at the end. Word of mouth was the only thing keeping his legend alive.
Were probably wanted in like 15 states rigth now for war crimes
Nah, we leave no survivors to tell of our crimes.
I also feel like its a shame that the goblin oppression thing wasn't more used, because it could have been a really good thing to have some kind of noble cause for ranrok
Or bodies
I’d like a Goblin region or something. Ranrok and his loyalists just had outposts. I think an actual region under his rule would’ve been awesome
Our ancient magic disintegrates all the bodies somehow.
Or a more indepth look of how wizardkind treats goblin, so that we get why theyre revolting in the first place
We’d be very bad at poaching because when we kill a spider all we get is maybe one spider tooth when the spider has a whole bunch more.
We really got the perfect power for commiting crimes lmao
Im starting to think it was meant for it in the first place
Ranrock did had a pity backstory, but he really took the idea of all wizard are bad because of one guy.
Goblins do need more rights, Ranrok had just a too violent approach. I hope somewhere past the books they do get rights. Wands for Goblins!
NO
Goblin and wizard have fundermetal disagreement.
Look at the little savages without wands, imagine them with!?
Why ? Like we see most goblins are just common folks, like the biscuit mooncalf one doesnt seem bad, tthey are is just poorly treated by the wizarding society as a whole
Well, trying to start a war certainly hasn’t helped them
Thats what led the goblins to have a rebellion, if they were treated rigth in the first place ranrok would have never became so powerful
become goblins wouldnt want to figth against wizardkind
They literally contradicted themselves. Not all wizards agree with treating goblins horribly, yet they killed them all the same
sigh....Miriam
Just like how not all goblins took part in the rebellion yet you want to punish all of them
Not ALLLL. Just the majority 😏
Fight fire with fire!
Same as Ranrock killed Miriam because he assume all wizards are bad.
They’re just as bad as humans. Kill ‘em!
But you gotta say not goblins are that stupid.
Ranrock is blinded by his own assumption based on a singular wizard.
Or a Simple mind.
He just don't want to admit that not all Wizards are bad, just as not all goblins shares the same idea of his.
This is like the “ACAB argument” not all cops are bad
Yeah, you have to be open-minded on something like this.
Yeah. I’m open minded all the time
Hogwarts Legacy has a lot going for it. It is clear that a lot of love and labor went into the creation of the world.
So why a negative review?
Your character is going to be a pet-loving, tree-hugging, empathic goody-two-shoes no matter what you do.
- Choices don't matter
- There are no consequences to your actions.
- There are no stakes! There is a supposed "big bad" who is interested in you and wants to capture you, yet you can roam the world however and whenever you like without any risk of getting caught. The story only happens when you trigger it.
- At some point in the story, the interests of MC and a side-show villain become aligned. The side-show villain even says so and offers a chance to work together. I wanted to accept, but noooooo, Avalanche made my character decline and spew some moralistic BS at the villain, I was not even given a choice. UGH.
- Totally missed opportunity on using the four houses as competition factions. There is no competition between houses in this game, there are no factions, there are no house points.
- No social gameplay at all. No building of relationships between other characters. You're just going to be friends with everyone, no matter how you play, because Avalance says so.
- No classes or curfew systems. Some people think that having these would be boring. By themselves they could become boring or annoying, sure, but when there is a social cost associated with them, I think they could be excellent gameplay loops. Missed a class? Lose house points. Lose house points? Social relation with side-character X is affected, which in turn affects your story and the choices you are able to make. Or how about having to feed your secret Hippogriff pet, which you can only do at night, so you have a reason to break curfew. And if you fail and get caught? Who knows, maybe the Hippogriff abandons you. Risk and reward people, it's not that hard!
my opinion on the game, which is the top rated review on steam, I just pasted it here
But Officers aren’t goblins
Perhaps compare Aurors with Police might be better.
AHHH! My Draco and Lucius Pops came today
They’re the first purchase to my Harry Potter Pop collection
Hope you enjoy them
Good theory: Officer Singer is useless because she has been tasked with investigating all the dead people and goblins popping up around hogsmeade and spends a lot of time trying to solve that mystery
I like them a lot
She is useless beside making small report to Professor Onai about Natty.
but what if she is useless because of how busy she is investigating all those dead people popping up, or simply burried under paperwork about the 10-20+ dead people every day?
Who knows.
Lol. We think Rookwood is her assignment, but it’s really us. We are the reason for her incompetence. 😊
« What ? We found 25 more dead goblins outside of hogsmead ? God, that’s the fourth time this week »
And MC is like:
"Omg no way who did that
"
Or she knows it is us/Natty, but wants to keep us going, because she doesn't like poachers but her hands have been bound, and she tries not to interact with us because she doesn't want to bring attention to us and risk exposing us... So every time we "investigate" officially Harlow, and get it back to her, she's like "Oh God! Yet another 20 hours of paperwork to ensure people dont suspect those two bumbling buffoons..."
To be fair thats probably what ranrok thougth, and then we and up with, well, the anne situation over again
I have a discord for my twitch channel. Taking a break until I can get a better computer though. I have a ton of people from my HS in it. Kids who graduated with me, kids still in school, and everyone in between. They’re trying to get me to invite teachers from my school discord server too. Aw heck no. Only kids can watch me stream legacy. No adults allowed
Adults = teachers
Unless it’s my favorite. Even then, he’s not allowed. 😂 I’d be obligated to nickname him Professor Fig
For memes
Rant over.
Inviting teachers does seem a really weird move.
Yeah. I wouldn’t allow it
Like I’d jokingly say “yeah invite them, totally” with sarcasm
Then back it up with “please no. They have lives”
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2076762861714488041/5357B05E3415158F0FDAA9EFF9EB438730FDC0FB/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
@summer vapor Don't worry, it's just a screenshot
It happened once, without my consent. I didn’t realize it until I got a text from my dad who was friends with the teacher. My dad was so angry.
So I’m literally sobbing on stream and end it abruptly
Chamber os Secrets had night time missions where if you'd get caught you would lose house points
I don't think it matters too much anyway the stealth mechanic is quite easy. It's quite hard to actually get caught
Perhaps, it occured to me last night when helping somone the Ravenclaw common room has an entry on the roof with a lvl 1 Alohamora lock. I'm curious if a person in another house can enter the Ravenclaw common room via that access or if it'd be blocked for them.
that's Ravenclaw exclusive, I tried.
I mean that roof is accessed through Ravenclaw common room, and you can't land there through broom.
Yes you can, I use it regularly to come and go. The whole thing is pretty much a safe landing spot and the end is a fly zone so you can take off + you can alohamora the lock from the roof hence my wondering if you can enter via it as another house
huh
I thought that's Ravenclaw exclusive. Perhaps I need to try it today.
Like I said I don't know and my other house playthroughs are all at the map chamber so it'd take time to get them to the point they have a broom + alohomara so I was hoping someone else might be able to check if this was something that was missed and any house can enter Ravenclaw from the roof
I can take a look at it when I get home from work( 6:49 am)
Thank you
Check your DM
You can absolutely breed unicorns. At first I could only find males, but there is an NPC in Hogsmeade who offers a quest with a female unicorn named Hazel
Graphorns can be bred too - once you’ve got the Lord of the Shore, you’ll be able to go back to the place you found him (it’ll be marked as a Graphorn den) and capture more Graphorns
I can only find females lol
Try capturing all of them, then change the time (by waiting)
Or, after capturing all of them, fast-travel away from the den and come back
This will force the den to respawn beasts
I’ll do that, thx!
I did wait a few before but I just kept getting females!
How about the Phoenix?
only the one Phoenix
sadly
Yep
Nattsai: "Why did you lie to me."
Me: "Because I just met you, its none of your business and I didn't want to drag you into trouble with poachers who are willing to let a troll lose on a village."
could be a bit odd hanging off it
I just noticed we unlock 15 mount slots when we get them so plenty of room for more
All mounts in the game are pre-named, which means you can’t just use any beast you’ve caught as a mount
And that’s unfortunate, because I would’ve loved to ride a unicorn
What’s the use in going out and capturing rescuing such a rare, beautiful beast, if I can’t parade it across the school grounds?
I did my OWLs not knowing that that was the end of the game. I am depressed now
Pls 🥹😭
Do any of the quests take us to pitt on ford? I'm 1 demiguise short and I think the ones at Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are behind lvl 3 locks so its either pit on ford or brocborrow. If I'm never visiting them later its fine but if th questline takes me there later I'll wait
You can, but it's almost to the end game, so I suspect not many people even border doing that. And there's only one spot for each of them on the map.
There is no demiguise behind lvl 3 lock
Which area are you missing?
Hufflepuff here first time just had to say that
Does anyone know if you get XP for defeating the arenas more than once?
2 in hogwarts and 3 in hogsmeade. Only need to find 1 more
You don't get Xp for the arena's you get XP for what you do in the arena's. Important differences if you have combat challenges remaining e.g. defeat 10 trolls. You'll get XP each time you defeat a troll. If you've already done all your combat challenges and dueling feats then you'll get no XP for redoing the arena
So for example if you still need to defeat trolls but have completed the defeat spiders chain and do the southern arena. Defeating the troll at the start will get you XP for progresssing that chain but the spiders in the next wave wont give you any
Can you see which sub area?
Ah okay, thanks.
IKR, I really wanted to bring Poppy to visit Highwing
Hmm why I cant get completion mark in the feldcroft battle arena even I win?
Had to go to a work function I forgot I'll have a hunt later
Sure。 Let me know when you are ready.
Not sure how this works I have 8/10 overall and 2/3 in the astronomy wing with all others found
I got the same with field guide pages
No that's a different thing, there's a field guide page outside the greenhouse near beehives that doesn't count when you collect it. I've that as well as thousands of other people (avalanche is investigating). This is a totals issue as in at Hogwarts I have 8/10 but If I look at the breakdowns by subsection I have 8/9 there's 1 demiguise that isn't included in the school breakdown so I think its in the castle walls or the like
I don't know anywhere else to say this as it may be classed as a spoiler but... since ominis speaks parceltongue and since nearly all parselmouths descendents of salazar slytherin.... does that mean Ominis heard the call of the chamber of secrets?
his family protected its secret for generations
I'm so confused
How was the main character cool with Fig dying
casually putting the wand in his hands while he was dying
Well, I could see my MC had a distraught expression, at least
Found it in the outside part now 9/10 and 8/9 with the last in the astronomy tower
got one of the two remaining
Probably just protaganist stoicism. Personally I prefer grief over lost friends/mentors. Some games do it well, some don't, some don't even try but I can't say how this one does as I'm still on my first playthrough technically (did a restart in winter) and now only up to autumn
Fig sacrificed himself to help the MC seal the repository (at least that’s the impression I got), so I think the MC accepted that he did what he needed to do, and was going to be with his wife
And I remember the MC looking sad at the memorial ceremony afterward
o, and you don't mind spoilers?
I was here from day 1, had the game spoiled by all the trans activists deliberately saying things anywhere they could so I gave up and started lurking in here where I can help others as I already knew ending events
lots of people with trans flag and similar avatars talking about major events like his death in the non-spoilers channels and the like
sigh
what's even the point of that
ah I see
They wanted to punish us. I just lump them in with the noxious idiots who infest so much of the world today and try to ignore them. I note they've all gone away now.
I went to school with gay and trans kids. People can change with time but the gay guy was one of the most polite and well raised kids in our class so I'm pretty sure he'd be apalled at the behaviour even if he's not a fan of Harry Potter (he might be for all I know haven't spoken to anyone I went to school with in 25 years). The trans kid I know even today would oppose them as they were heavily bullied and by graduation had no tolerance for bullies of any kind which is what these activists were
the numbers show that it didn't change much, if anything
probably encouraged sales to be honest a lot of people hate being told to do something by anyone much less a stranger
Yeah, as someone who was bullied, I hate bullies, no matter which "side" they are. And sorry to say, but a lot of twitter activists are very much reminds me of bullies.
I just need to breed a graphorn and unicorn. I’m at the part where your character and Sebastian go into the goblin mines. I’m pretty close to the end
Well, you can grab Unicorn anytime now, their den is just south of Ford Swamp south, like in the forbidden forest, and you need to finish the last trail to be able to save more of them.
Still have statues left? which sub area again?
And do you have Hogsmeade one left?@honest karma
As much as i love the sebastian plot i wish he wasnt a slytherin
Slytherins are always the bad guys
I want a ravenclaw mastermind who gets corrupted by forbiden power
I want a reckless gryffondor who falls to the hands of bad guys and become a bad guy himself
I want a pure hufflepuf that believes he is doing the rigth thing but endup breaking all morales law in an attempt to help people
You did not just say this.
In main storys i mean
Like come on the only evil guys we have are slytherins
Im tired of the vilains who's only motivation is power
But this doesn't make everyone from Slytherin evil.
Not at all and i know
I meant to say that all bad guys are slytherin
But not all slytherin are bad guys
Don't forget which house did Peter Pettigrew from.
Hes more of a coward than an actual villain
Also i wish the house ravenclaw was less underused
I wish Hufflepuff was less underused tbh
Both are so underrated
they really got some great people
It's the book gave us a solid idea of Gryffindor are good, Slytherin are bad, other two are practically invisible.
what are you talking about here bros
The things i would give so that amit got a storyline quest
He seems genuinely interesting and i enjoyed the quest with him
The way ravenclaw and hufflepuf are so underused
Not all Slytherin are bad guys, and others are under rated
Well, At lease you got to visit azkaban as Puff, and you got the worst house exclusive quest in my opinion as Ravenclaw
Real i did it and it was so boring
Despite being a book worm, he is decent
You being the only living person in Headless hunt as Gryffindor; you bring a toast to open a cave as Slytherin and talked brifely about Apolonia Black,
I suspect they didn't make Raveclaw companion when they released the first gameplay trailer.
And as a ravenclaw your just going around finding a bunch of statues like come on
I mean they introduced All three we have right now, just not Ravelclaw
in the owl tower...lol
Slytherin quest is slightly better, but seems a little underwhelming.
I actually think its pretty nice, i liked how there was some lore about aponia black
Well, yeah, Hufflepuff and Slytherin quests shares the same background, they all talk about the triangle love between jackdaw, apolonia and Anne.
Gryffindor is unique.
If you have offspring from your beasts in your RoR, do they grow up?
I need 1 more field guide page in my collection tap but can’t find it. It’s located in hogwarts and wanted to ask if someone can make pictures of all the revelio pages icons in the collection tab so I can check which one I need
PS5?
Yeah
Game help doesn’t help tho. Cuz game help says I need one more revelio page at the green houses but I got that one already
I play it on PC, but I heard there is a bug that a flying page on the bell tower garden that don't count even if you have collected it. It's currently the most trending bug right now, and Avalanche have yet to fix it.
Not sure how's that going recently.
well here i am
beat the natsai questline
beat the poppy questline
now alls thats left is the final repository then sebastians questline
I sooo wanted him to find a cure for Anne
Alright. We will see Ty
you talking to me?
Yes
it is
Whoever turned him in needs an Azkaban’s evaluation of their own
fun fact
theopilus harlow can survive aveda kedavra
he is the man who lived
i used aveda kedavra on him and he just froze
then the cutscene started and i was in the fight with him\
i cant do his questline till after i finish the final repository
I saved his final quest for last as well
It flows so perfectly
wait
yeah it says on thsi wiki
"In The Shadow Of Revelations is different from most quests. This side quest will begin as soon as you complete The Final Repository. You won't have to do anything, but you'll need to complete In the Shadow of Fate first, and depending on what you did with Sebastian will determine how this cutscene will play."
so technically ive already finished his questline
i just gotta beat the mission and the rest auto starts
If you turned Sebastian in, you see are THE enemy
#Sebastiandidnothingwrong
ending the game at level 26 lmao
aveda kedavra kills all cursed enemies is one of the most if not the most op talents
I’m level 37 on my Slytherin playthrough and haven’t beaten the game yet
always getting side-tracked while on a quest, am I right? 😄
I’m trying to 100% the game
But if Sebastian’s quest pops up I’m like “HERE I COMEEE”
same here, but I finished it yesterday and now chasing side quests, collectibles and such
poppy, natty and sebastian quests are done
I always have one save for this scene.
in case I want to take more screenshots
yay, the crucio wall 😄
I did too
yup, same here
btw, love your characters design
❤️
if you didnt choose to have yourself be crucioed and learn crucio then who even are you
did you guys open the evil emotion thing or did you leave it closed
I suck at character creation, but this one I like (mine) - https://ibb.co/HGNgQhc
I want to learn Crucio, but I don't want to use it on Sebastian.
pretty good actually.
i think im gonna keep it closed cause like it doesnt affect the game so
even though the opening it cutscene seems kind acool
thank you 🙂
I used you know what to have this kind of face..sooo unless you play it on PC as well.
I play on PC, but dont know what you mean 😄
the thing we are not supposed to talk in here
The M word
ooooh, got it
Yep
The word that shall not be said
late hour, brain works slow 😄
this fight sucjs ngl
bro this is literally impossible
im not even fighting ranrock
im fighting a dragon
I wish we actually fought Ranrok
You know you can refill everything before you start the quest right?
finally got to the 3rd phase
but like that costs money
and i dont think ahead
lol... I can't really help you if you think this way.😭
It's not that hard, tbh
Unless you rushed the main quest line till here.
how do you rush
cause i mightive
i didnt really bother with side quests or anything besides the relationship quests
Then I see why you are struggling with this fight.
If you intent to do just main quest and be done with it forever, this game is not for you tbh.( no offence)
well i just didnt feel like doing the side quests
but the relationship quests were fun
so i did them
Like I said.
so im supposed to be level 40 for the fight?
normally lvl 30+
Do explore the world. Since the only way to level up is to finish the challenges and mostly done by exploring the world.
if i abandon the quest i have to do both stage 1 and 2 again
does leveling up make my moves do more damage?
I believe so. You also need to upgrade gear, that’s the main one
cause i all i have is bombarda confringo expelliarmus and diffindo
No. Upgrading gear does, but levelling up has no effect
incendio is useless cause it cant shoot
The ways to do more damage are:
- talents
- traits
- damage upgrades on gear
- better gear
However, increasing your hp might help.
It doesn’t cost money to refill everything if you planned it out slightly in advance. Hopping pots are the best way to get potions
i would but i seriously dont wanna redo this mission cause its so long just to get to the fight
To max your damage, cursing ranrok and unforgivable traits might be quite good, in your case
curses against ranrock dont work
Well… it’s also possible to defeat him without being hit once, but it requires good reflexes
Good to know. I rarely play with them
Found the last 2 in Hogwarts, still need to fully search Hogsmeade
since the dragon is metal and whatever it doesnt work
OK...Let me think
so stupid to be honest
I know I did it without getting hit at all, but only on my third playthrough and second IronMan.
Even after breaking his shield?
I'm fine now turned in the last 4 I needed for alohamora 3
I’d have thought AK works to change phase…
You know you need to hit orb with same color spells in order to damage him, right?
yeah
Book store; clothes store; Hog's head; house right next to J`pippin; a house near Haunted store( lvl 1 lock); in a three floor house with lvl 2 lock( house is at the alley that right next to Book store;
the house at the opposite of the beast store
the house near watermill( not the lvl 3 lock one)
I'll have to have a hunt, right now I'm off to find Tobbs
trying to remember the last one
OH LESS GOO SAVE MID BATTLE LES GO
Oh yeah: the private room on the top floor of The Three broomstick
Ugh
Just got done again with the part where our character and Sebastian see Isadoras memory
Why do the developers take pleasure in torturing us with different means of curing Anne, and then not curing her at all in the end
Such a good sceneeee
Because they want to see us suffer 😭
Can that curse even be reversed by doing something like what Ishidora did?
No because Isidora only removes metaphorical (emotional) pain
I just meant in general
And even that's not really a cure since it removes her other feelings
I figure it can be adapted if you can remove emotional pain there has to be a way to remove dark magic.
Between Shrivelfigs, ancient magic, dark arts, relics, all these things, we never get to try anything!!
They do
The relic thing was a weird one because Sebastian didn't have full control either
We'll never know if it would work or not
I believe that magic can do some good, but we open it now seems too early.
Also it heavily implies he would've had to kill someone to get it to open
And turn someone into Inferi
Honestly I thought that was how we'd learn AK when he sacrifices someone
Like when you're forced into learning crucio
I meant ancient magic, if you actually develop it. Not saying it'd be easy but if you can rip emotional pain out of someone you should be able to rip dark magic out
It could possibly work like a monkey's paw type thing so it would remove their ability to do any form of magic as well
As for the relic my view is if in an era when dark arts were taught openly a teacher say's not to use it and a student obviously obsessed with power decided not to mess with it then its not the answer
That's what I'm saying
I'm sure Sebastian would've been fine with his sister becoming a squib to save her life though
Possibly but magic in harry potter generally doesn't seem to work that way it does what's on the tin no more, no less unless you mess it up.
Maybe but ancient magic seems to follow different rules
maybe but this isn't affecting mind/emotions its taking a foreign magic out of someone if anything it'd be more likely to affect the caster than the victim. hmmm squib rookwood?
could explain the stories of muggles stealing magic someone with ancient magic taking hte power of others for themselves
So that would kinda imply an equal amount of squibs and muggle born wizards
isn't squib and muggle born wizards are the same idea?
I don't think it actually mentions anything like that in the books
Would make sense though
i've always figured its a genetic thing. WIth magic being a gene that you can have in an active or carrier state
Oh! Spenlow, I found robes that don’t have that height green color
ancient magic, legilliments and hte like would be other rarer gene sequenes like red hair if a very small percentage of humanity
Thing is if it's genetic it would have to be a dominant gene due to the way half bloods work
And it doesn't explain squibs
Unless you say it's a genetic disorder
pretty sure it does even dominant genes can occasionally miscarry as it were
I think they appear in pure families too so it must just be a disorder
its why you have 90% magic but shah's sister is the only one not to have it
Yeah like they thought Neville was one for example
Although every cell has two copies of each gene, each cell needs only certain genes to be switched on in order to perform its particular functions. The unnecessary genes are switched off.
Sometimes, a gene contains a change that disrupts the gene’s instructions. A change in a gene can occur spontaneously (no known cause) or it can be inherited. Changes in the coding that makes a gene function can lead to a wide range of conditions.
Knowing JKR it's probably a really dumb reason rather than that though
could also be like blood with say A, B, AB being variants of magic and O being non-magic
I think you're right with other things being genetic too because you see Harry good at similar subjects to his father
Also his dad being a quidditch seeker but that's more to do with athletics than magic
Have I mentioned that I added “dlc curing Anne” to my list to feeling complete in life?
As I understand it you have two genees for each thing nad dominant takes over recessive e.g. Magic and muggle so MM = magical, Mm = magicla and mm = muggle. So even if a family is pureblooded they could be carrying the muggle genee and not know it so you have generations of MM and Mm then one kid gets mm and is a squib the problem is explaining muggle borns. or if you go the other way and magic is recessive explaining half bloods.
If it was recessive you'd see less half bloods
It would make the non magic gene dominant
exactly which is why I'm thinking there is a carrier form but I'm not quite sure how htat works in genetics. beyond recessie genes being Qq and qq. So my current tentative theory is . . .
Magic = M dominant
Muggle = m recessive
Other magic strains like parseltongue are recessive
and there is also a recessive magic gene carrier form which is how you get muggle borns
Could also just be something simple like every Muggle born results in a squib being born to maintain balance
I know there are also co-dominant genes like AB in blood so anotehr possibility is Magic and Mugle are equally dominant while other magic strains like legilliemns are recesive so if you have M/M, M/Mu or l/l you can use magic, if you get Mu/Mu or Mu/l your a squib/muggle but a muggle born can carry the recessive strains of magic so a child can still get l/l if their parents are Mu/l
i'm leaining towards this oen the more I think about it as it'd explain why metamorphagi, legillimens, seers and ancient magic wielders are so rare because they need l/l, a/a or m/m and if they get M/x or Mu/x their either magical or muggle but half bloods can still be magical if they get M/M or M/Mu and if they get M/p their only base magic because that's dominant over the parseltognue genee
you can even vary it further with pareseltongue P being dominant over M or Mu but ancient magic a being recessive to everything else.
could even be more variants we don't know if you have a magic gene to speak to lions but never see one how would you know? Still I think I killed chat with my analysis
on a completely unrelated note I love that Sacharisa Tugwood just flat out tells you she's not doing her mission because she doesn't want to. No excuses, no evasaion just "I'd go myself but I don't want to so I'm paying you to do it for me."
LES GOOOOOOO
I BEAT RANROKKKKKK
R.I.P Eleazar Fig, known to his students as Professor Fig
😭
😭
That ending was kinda rushed though.
How did you approach the Seb quest?
i didnt turn him in if thats what your asking
Same
Couldn’t bring myself to do it because I’d want a sibling to help me at all costs. But that’s just me
Yes, even killing someone, as cruel as that sounds
I really would have liked fig as a companion, some of the comments you character makes causes me to think he could have been
Rip companion files
form a party Fig, Natsai, Poppy, Amit and Sebastian then go fight a paocher camp
And let Seb use dark magic.
hacked in like 8 levels cause i really wanted to finish the game and the house cup was 34
dont feel bad to be honest
would anyone else have enjoyed more wizarding architecture like the 3 door house in a box at hogsmeade?
I’d love to do a MC, Ominis and Sebastian team up to fight in the dark arts arena
We’d kill it
And Sebastian could use AK all he wants
does anyone understand the relevance of the Niamh Fitzgerald Trial? I played it maybe 30+ days ago but I never really understood how it connected
I think it was probably the coolest level in the game but it seemed pretty random
Absolutely the best level, but I don’t get it either.
Okay that makes me feel better that I'm not alone 😂
Seems like they just wanted to throw in a reference to the deathly hollows
I was like “uuuuuuuuh. This is scary tbh”
Yeah it was scary and awesome
I just did not understand how it fit into the story at all 😂
The only time I was genuinely 100% scared was the final boss battle. I didn’t think I’d have enough WW potions
Oh I just played on the easiest game mode lmfao
I might try to replay on the hardest or something
Same but still. Ugh
😂😂😂
In that level or the final boss in the game?
Final boss
I hardly used those potions the whole game lmao
That's probably where I used a few though
25 or whatever seems like a lot
Games never really scare me anymore.
Just only when I’m short on health
Don’t get me started on Hollow knight. 😭
I believe it was a tale about letting go. The first brother desires power and it leads to his death. The second brother can't let his family go and it leads to his death. The third brother when his time comes passes on his mantle and while he dies he does so content and happy.
Isadora's father is like the second brother he could not let go of his sons death and it dominated both his life and his daughters leading to her death and his becoming an emotionless corpse. Isadora is a reflection of the first brother she desired the power to control and change people around her and as with the first brother it lead to her death.
You are walking a path where you'll be like Isadora tempted to pursue power and Niamah is warning you not to do so lest it bring about destruction. You must let the power go and like the third brother be content with what you have and let it go when the time comes.
That's an interesting speculation, I like it I just wish they spelled it out for us 😂
To each their own I like not being hand held for a change, I turn off minimaps and markers to let me mostly solve quests in my own time and pace, if I could just make my character shUT UP. Step into room "maybe you should do this" shut up, let me look around and figure it out myself
There’s tons of stuff they left us hanging about.
Perhaps but when I played through although that was my favorite level it left me googling questions that seemingly don't have hard answers
It was the only thing that really stuck out like that to me and bugged me even after beating the game
Which I haven't really touched it since, I can't even be bothered to learn avada kedavra
Probably cause I was too whimpy to learn it when it was offered 😂
Yep, that quest line should be followed up with in the sequel
Hoping for a happy ending, but I guess any closure will do. There’s always fanfics
I'd really like the next game to be more like GTA and with online 😁😁
Online would be fun. With text chat
Also why was there no quidditch
Just seems odd unless they wanted to include it as DLC
I do have many questions like if you close a vivariums doors can they be opened from the inside or do they dissapear leaving on in a sealed off dimension, can you portkey or apparate to and from it
and of course autumn will be over by the tiem i get teh autumn themed clothing
is there a way to get aavada kedavra if i missed that quest you do with sebastian?
Maybe, if you've not turned him into Azkaban he should be in hte undercroft and will teach you
ohhh karabast..
welp. new playthrough, here i come
i just learned crucio
this game is fun
Very fun
There are a lot of easy to miss details like the seasonal windows
Play it thoroughly
And MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE when the time comes
The true Slytherins are counting on you
PLEASE LETS NOT START THIS RUBBISH AGAIN! Now I'm just going over there -> as I know you're going to
I always make the right choice
#Sebastiandidnothingwrong
Lol if he kept his uncle alive I would send him to Azkaban
But I lol'd when he taught me unforgivables, emphasizing that you have to mean them, but after the mission where he killed Solomon he was sobbing "I didn't mean to..." 🤣
I was like “YOU DID MEAN IT. BECAUSE YOUR UNCLE SUCKS AND I HATE HIM.”
I'll be honest originally I was doing a roughly 50/50 split based on what my characters would do. Now I'm so utterly sick of people shoving his choice in a "spare him or bad wrong fun" when it doesn't even have anything to do with the conversation I'm sending him to Azkaban on all play throughs with pleasure along with trying to blow him up or leave him to be beaten to a pulp in crosswands
Ouch
Sebastian supporters unite!
He's just manipulating you from the moment he meets you. If you don't take his "oops I probably shouldn't tell you about Ominis private life" he then pushes you "If I were you I'd be dying of curiousity to hear about Ominis private life that's none of your business." He's an obsessed, manipluative socipath who should be locked away for everyones safety.
His uncle sucks and I would’ve AK’d him if Seb didn’t
I'm not saying his uncles a wonderful person just that Sebastian is a sociopath who manipulates you from the moment he meets you. Just like he manipulates and takes advantage of Ominis and probably took advantage of Anne.
His sister loved him, even after he killed Solomon. Doubt he “manipulated” her, unless you take “borrowing” her chemistry set as “manipulation”
He didn’t use you from the start, nor did he toward the end. You helped each other throughout the story to achieve one another’s ends. Once he realized you might be the key to saving Anne, he practically begs you to help him. That’s not manipulation
The chemistry set letter made me laugh.
Idk, if someone met another person who could cure their loved one of a debilitating illness, I’d think it only “human” to ask for help.
I wonder if Sebastian still would not be charged because Anne could cover for him and say “they found him dead”
That’s what happened if you don’t turn him in
I meant even after
First meeting he hints you need to break rules.
Second Meeting he says he likes friends in his debt
third meeting he takes you to a place that was a sentimental secret belonging to Ominis
Fourth meeting he invites you to anne's to cheer her up then leads you into a goblin ambush to show you how horrible htey are
fifth meeting he says ominis always does what he say's and he'll remind them of that
Then he keeps on taking advantage of ominis and you to fuel his quest to turn back into "his sister" beccause she's changed and he doesn't like it
If you did turn him in without Anne’s permission
“She’s changed and he doesn’t like it.”
Anne: has a painful disease that’s slowly killing her
but it has changed her personality so she'ss not "his sister"
She’s…in…pain…
I mean you can’t prove it was Seb who killed him. So Anne could still save him
They can’t prove anything
my point there was not that he wants to cure its that he refers to it in relation to him. Not "My sister is dyign and I have to help her" but "This curse has changed her and not just phsyically I will get MY sister back"
Remember this is the 1890s as well
You’re joking, right?
And the quote is “I miss my sister, and I’m going to get her back.”
I was sick the majority of March (my fault for not getting antibiotics) and I definitely wasn’t the same “me”
no everything in our intereactings is about him not other people not anne, not ominis, not solomon except in how they impact him or aren't doing what he wants
So you think he wants Anne cured because he views her as… his?…
Sickness does make people different
@tough pelican I think he is a sociopath he genuinely ticks a lot of the warning signs
I think Senko is trying to say that Sebastian views Anne as his “property” or something, which is ludicrous!
I wish I could’ve saved my mom and gramma ||with darkmagic||
The spoiler is sarcasm
Oh good haha. Thought you were serious.
But according to Senko, you’d be exhibiting signs of a sociopath
Wait wait wait, did you just say “MY” gramma
Naughty naughty!
its not just that, but the entire time you interact with him
My gramma died April 10, 2022 😂😭
I’m using the laugh smile as ‘so yeah, my life mirrors art, almost
This is why we don’t have nice people in 2023. If they’re nice, loyal, and persistent, they’re sociopaths!
Oh well.
He states he likes friends in his debt that he will remind ominis of the fact he generally does what sebastian wants, tries to maniuplate you into asking about something ominis wants private, betrays ominis secret to a complete stranger, goes straight to maniuplation, ignores anne's attemps to tell him to stop. I can go on but I efel this is not the forum for it.
Suffice it to say I genuinley consider him to be only in it for his own interests with no care for anyone else as demonstrated by how willing he is to betray the secrets of his "best" friend when it benefits him.
I feel like we’ve had this conversation before
Dunno about the sociopath thing, but he does give vibe that he want "his" version of Anne back, regardless of the situation
We have MANY, MANY times which is why I am so sick of people twisting any conversation to "make the right choice" "All true slytherins are counting on you" "You know you must not send him to Azkaban" if its part of the conversation that's one thing but the discussion will be something completely different and you'll get this charged language trying ot push people ot spare him or admit they're having bad wrong fun
To be honest solomon is lucky it was sebastian that killed him in a kick, painless death
I’m sticking up for Seb. That’s all. I’m chronically ill so I get it. Been that way since I was 12. Woooo epilepsy
SHES SICK
Like, of course he cares about his sister, but at the same time he's not respecting her opinion
Who wants to see their sibling ILL and in PAIN
If “his” version of Anne is her NOT being ill and in pain, I’d say that’s better than Rookwoods version!
He clearly stated that he wanted her in a normal MENTAL state, so i kinda see where noct is coming from
as i said though my bitter hatred for it is due to the fact the conversation will be about something completely diffeerent and then someone will interject about having to amke the choice for sebastian and starting this debate all overa gain
I’d do anything to get rid of my epilepsy drags Sebastian with me to the library even though it’s not likely a curse
Idk who’d want to see their sibling in pain
I get it some people lvoe him and if its a natural part of the conversation fine but when people are talking about tree's don't bring up having to not send him to Azkaban
If Sebastian tries to help you, he’s a sociopath, watch out!
He siad that even aside from the physical pain it had changed her mentally
Pain tends to do that
I’m the one forcing him lol
I know bro i was just trying to clear up what noct had said
So basically, what some of you are saying, is that we should ACCEPT this version of Anne that ROOKWOOD created?
Plot twist of the century
This isn’t a case of “Anne is depressed because shes born with depression. This is a case of “Anne is depressed because she’s in constant pain caused by a mass murdering wizard goon.”
I always feel betrayed when people arent like the irl version of their profil picture
I’m told my character looks like me, so there’s no need for any feeling of betrayal while I’m around
Goblin goes after his sister he doesn't used depulso, accio, glacius, aresto momentum, leviosa, defindo no his first choice is to mind control them and make them commit suicide. He hides his going after the relic from his best friend ebcause he know's his best friend wouldn't approve, he makes retreiving sebastian's books about ominis retrieving his relative (that we leave on the floor in the crucio room) rather than anne till we get there then takes the book for himself. He tells you himself eh likes people in his debt, he drops hints and then doubles down on it if you try to respect ominis views.
I’m going to bed. This debate hurts my head.
even the undercroft was a family secret of omninis's and a sentimental place for him, sebastian and anne yet sebastian take you straight there to teach you the blasting curse betraying omnins without a thought
To be fair im starting to wonder how him and ominis stayed friends for so long while sebastian clearly doesnt give an f about omini's boundaries
How dare he protect his sister. HOW DARE he want to change the sickly and in constant pain Anne back into how she used to be. How dare he!
I’m hearing Greta Thunberg
Chill
Even though it’s clearly laid out.
and this is why I get so frustrated when people keep twisting conversations to the choice about turning sebastian in or not as it ALWAYS causes this debate
I’m doing the same. Goodnight lol
Ominis have no where to go and nobody to rely on before you shows up. Seb was his only choice
Good night.
night
Oh yeah i forgot about that lol
And i guess they respected each other a lot more
On the bright side. That makes him one of the most developed character in the game,
@feral locust according to some users, Sebastian is wrong for not accepting Anne in her debilitating state.
Well I just waked up from a late sleep due to the night shift...🤣
Except I have no loyalty to him because of railroaded plot points. Every chance I get I choose against him because I want to not keep enabling him in a stupid idea.
well, guess everyone's leaving, gonna continuing my Hufflepuff playthrough then
And Senko, there’s not need to be annoyed at people viewing remaining loyal to Seb as the “right” decision. What’s right is subjective to the player. I’ll continue to defend my choice however and congratulate those who make a similar choice
It's for the good of him yes, I understand that, but I can pretty much guarantee you, you would hear Anne commit suicide few days after you turn Seb in.
We’re getting a bit dark here, but yes
which frankly at this stage i'm fine with because i've been made so sick of him and his relationships because the conversation keeps going like this . . .
"Did you see that amazing easter egg where the dugbog eats the deer?"
"You must spare sebastian not turn him in or as you as bad as that dugbog!"
"debate rages and everyone goes away angry and annoyed."
Causing more pain to Anne is really not that good.
Ok now I’m going to bed. Goodnight!
Sleep well.
Because my character is Slytherin and basically encouraged the use of dark arts as well as learning them it just feels like snitching to turn him in
Ta
Time to get some sleep, my friend.
I felt so confused for a hot second about everyone going to sleep cause for me it 10 am
3pm here
You're in the mess with Sebastian at that point unless you picked different choices
which goes back to my original plan of making the choice based on the cahracter and what they would do at the time. But after dozens of you must spare him and your a terrible horrible traitor who has no reason to do such terirble horrible treachery and you must stop having bad wrong fun and reload to make the proper choice. I as I said am not throwing him into Azkaban more because of the defenders here than what my characters would actually do
Well, this is what Salazar Slytherin encourage his student to do, never hesitate to use DA when it's necessary.
Frankly some of yall here are taking the whole sebastian debate too seriously
Well, we wish they could make this part a branching consequences based on your choices or houses, etc.
honestly i'm taking it to heart more because i keep seeing other conversations derailed into this same debate where no one is going to change their views. Hence why I wish they would just stop inserting it into other conversations that have NOTHING to do with im
Also when I say snitching I don't just mean reporting illegal activities. That's normal.
Snitching is when you're involved with it yourself and you rat out your partner which most people in a similar situation consider scummy
We are having this debate thanks to the brilliant writers of Avalanche Studio.
Well, we are partner-in-crime as far as someone's concerns.
Perhaps but when the person I'm with is murdering family members and has shown a fascination with illegal activities then i'll turn them in and take my lumps because otehrwise i'm now guilty for everyone they kill
Funny, there's nothing wrong with trying to save your sister, and there's nothing wrong with stopping someone for using DA, and when you combine this two together, it feels so wrong somehow.
At least for me.
The whole thing wasn't about using AK to save his sister it was the self defence
Although it was kinda weird because by the time he casted it we had worn down Solomon
Personally for me the main reason i didn't turn him in is cause i did like 10X times worse (of course its ranroks fault but the minstry wouldnt get it)
and THAT is my point he knew non-lethal options, he knew lethal non illegal options, his first choice is the illegal dark arts killing curse. Then you expect me to believe he'll just stop?
Solomon would turn Sebastian and us to Professor Black, we would be expelled, and Ranrock would be succeed.
jsut like when i'm grabbing something from a bandit camp I"ll use stupify or petrificus on them
@honest karmaWell, like I said here.
which frankly I'm fine with because I am only going along with him because the game reailroads me with no actual choice even when I choose things like "We should levae the relic" he takes the relic
Ah hell nah i dont care if im expelled im breaking into the castle and killing ranrok no matter what
With that in mind it would probably be very hard for him to justify self defence in front of the ministry
The only way he could have justified it completely is if the uncle was actively trying to kill both the students
Just like irl if you're trying non lethal options but your attacker is still trying to harm you you probably don't have any choice
honestly nattai's fiarly similarly on the railroading I want to hit her in the head and tell her to stop aggravating poachers
Which shows a weird characteristic of Solomon Sallow,
You mean Harlow?
Harlow wasn't just poaching he was exerting corecive control to a bunch of people in Hogsmeaded
I dont know if its considered part of the lore since its more of a gameplay mechanic but, since you can die and there is no "special screen" telling you something like "solomon told the principal", and you just have the classic death screen doesnt that mean that solomon was actively trying to kill atleast the mc ?
Possibly
she literally steals a letter that might just be "pick up two milk bottles when your in town" from his hand and just keeps making things worse for everyone. Leave him to the authorities
Or maybe you didn't actually die when you die
Don't forget as well during his auror career he has used unforgivables so you might have reason to believe he would use them again
Idk to be fair, its not made really clear if the game over screen means actual death
I think it depends on the situation
It would still be extremely difficult to claim self defence legally but possibly morally
So we'll probably never know
Not sure we can count the reload as its just the same generic screen regardless of how it happens all the way back to the first troll attack when rookwood is meant to kidnap you.
I miss under a killing moon where each time you died before finishing the game/fulfilling your destiny god sent you back to try again and got progressively more pissed off at you the more you died.
Wizarding courts don't use a jury either so once you get caught chances are you're heading to azkaban
Like even Harry Potter needed someone with influence to sway the ministry or he would've been incarcerated
Yeah, the entire crusade of her chasing Harlow seems weird, but based on this scene, I know I can count on her when it's necessary.
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2076762861715059878/16A29E3402E46E39F5B512BB4348C0A938A3B8E7/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
to be fair the minsitry was trying to deliberatley kangaroo court him at the time
Typical Gryffindor action
The ministry court is probably a kangaroo court anyway
I think theres two game over screen the "your journey has ended" one (used in the last sebastian quest if i recall) and the "quest failed" one. Either way its really unclear whether or not you actually die
which wouldn't hvae been necessary if she'd just left well enough alone
That's what normally happens when there's no jury trial it's biased towards conviction
anyway my dinners ready so imm off to eat it
Dumbudore is basically Shadow Minister
Sounds delicious already.
Dumbledore probably could have gotten Fudge thrown out of power with his influence that's why he's such a threat
Even though he has better bugs to squash
Yeah, 麒麟(Qilin) bowed before him after all
Also about Harlow, I had a theory that he had the police in his pocket which is why they don't seem to do anything
Either through blackmail or just bribery
Nah, no way he actually going to kill his own nephew and a student. Game over screen is just game mechanic. Nothing deep about it imo
Victor Rookwood do have moles inside the ministry through extortion.
Also what I found hilarious was using AK on Harlow left him on 1 HP. Natty finished him off
Yep, you think how he got the schedule for our carriage, so Ranrock can send a Hungarian Horntail(is it?) to kill us and snatch the portkey container.
Like when you have 3 independent people that are willing to testify against someone at that point it's corruption that no charges are brought up
Or maybe he didn't intent to kill us, but that's a acceptable collateral damage for him
That's what I thought.
Well ranrok doesn't know our power at that point so he doesn't care either way
He probably wanted to kill Fig though
Im not sure to be honest, from the little we have seen of him, he doesn’t seem like the calmest or most sane person when it comes to Sebastian, and he does choose to prioritize attacking his nephew and his friend rather than killing of the inferis first
Yeah, but killing three wizard/witch is acceptable for him anyway
He thinks Seb's more dangerous than Inferi in that immediate situation.
Yeah (he’s rigth )
The problem with that fight is its rpg game mechanics to make you more heroic. Also sebastian raised the inferi so yeah he's more dangerous as he can make more and he's just shown he's willing to
As for the carriage my understanding of the conversations is that Rookwood was planning a snatch and grab to get it. Ranrock not trusting him and knowing the key was headed sent the dragon out of desperation mucking up rookwoods actual plan
We attack him first. And the inferi tbh is kinda just chilling there
His mind got twisted and blinded by the idea of Sebastian using DA.
Ranrok was always planning to double cross Rookwood
it isn't wrong, but that's not a normal person would think in that immediate situation.
This was probably one of his attempts to double cross him but it failed so he gaslit him instead
Yeah, you think someone like Ranrock will accept an alliance with a wizard...
yeah but this is rpg game where he's supposed to be a boss.
He was probably thinking he'll take the key and get rid of Rookwood. Two birds with one stone
Yeah, but gameplay element aside, my thoughts still seems to just.
But it does affect the character imo. If this is a book/movie, I would agree with you
oh, yep basically that
In a book or movie it would basically just be protagonist syndrome
As in siding with the MC because he's getting attacked even though we don't know Solomon's intentions
haha true. The "MC morality"
Can either be good or bad tbh
I think that fight would be better with you controlling sebastian fighting Solomon in a duel without inferi.
Possibly yeah
hence teh dragon he wouldn't have sent it if he actually trusted rookwood to share the portkey when he got it. He expected the wizard to betray him so he betrayed himf irst.
I agree it would be better to have temporary control of sebastian with a spare/kill option at hte end
I mean there's no point for us to fight Solomon except he thinks we are partner-in-crime.
Omg yes it would be so much better
Well he's a fully trained auror so 2 fifth year students is barely an even fight for him
you could even make it a hidden check based on whether you encouraged his dark arts obsession or opposed it
Solomon is actually a dangerous duelist gameplay mechanics aside
Ah I was distracted by RL stuff earlier.
To explain my point from before about how Seb "doesn't accept Anne's current mentality", I wasn't denying that she had become depressed and may give up. But rather I'm thinking about how Anne wouldn't want Seb to go down the DA path
Who isn't afraid to use unforgivables
From what I understood he is, that’s why he left the ministry
He's like an older version of Sebastian
Which is why it doesn't end well because they're equally as stubborn as each other
Who?
Solomon
Oh, ok
He probably believed everyone should learn the unforgivables when he was Sebastian's age too although that's speculation
so as i was saying you control sebastian and fight solomon. Solomon wins (scripted) then he turns from his nephew to destroy the relic and depending on your choice/choices you etiher get (a) NO! Uncle it was all that was holding the inferi back . . . cue inferi fight or (b) NO! You took the last chance to save her . . . cue avada strike to his uncles back
That just turns Sebastian into a straight murderer though
From what I understood he left the ministry because they wanted him to use the fun spells (aka the unforgivables) and that’s why he left
I like it, got a little BioWare vibe
so? he is one long before this choice
We know that she's pretty much a good, selfless person. If the cure to her condition would require Seb to sacrifice lives, I don't think she would agree to it. Especially if it involve turning people into inferi.
If the same thing happen to me, and to save me my brother had to kill people, idk if I would allow it. And this is coming from someone who's more selfish than Anne
Oh right that's like the opposite of the lore
I thought they banned aurors from using unforgivables
I mean, he kinda is by the end of the fight regardless
Sorry I’m not an English native so I might have misunderstood
They authorized at some point.
No more than anyone else and in emergency situations they can authorize htem
Thing is at least it's morally ambiguous whether he did it out of self defence or not
That AK happen after we disarm/worn down Solomon
Just like guns
not with the goblin
We didn't disarm him
To be fair, it's kinda "in the heat of moment" thing
Not excusing him, but
That's just the game mechanics
Yeah I mean after the fight
It's possible what was being represented was us two fighting him then Sebastian casts AK to end it
stupify, petrifica totalis, glacius, arresto momentum may non-lethal non-illagal options he could have used instead
No, look at the cutscene again. Solomon has stop attacking and clearly hurt. Seb hit him twice more before casting AK
we had stop fighting at that time
In the que the shadow of hope, Sebastian says solomon once decided to figth fire with fire and used an unforgivable curse in a figth against dark wizards. Then when he realized with he had done he left
I think I just missed out on avada kedavra
is there any way to get it after that quest?
if you don't turn him in he'll be in theundercroft ot teach you
ah, I turned him in
then no
lmao 😭
Descendo is superior anyway mwahaha 😈
Yeah, well, emotional teenager do tend to be stupid and reckless 😂
unbelievable man
I didn't even wanna hit the Solomon guy
It was killing to possibly find a way to lift the curse
Not even a certainty
the game does railroad you a lot
I'm probably going to be crucified for this, but I would side with Solomon if we're given the chance 😂
He made mistakes too, but overall he makes more sense than seb
Same
bottoms up!
Lol I love that quest so much
My character goes from polite to complete twit in seconds
bubertuber and dittany @hearty arch
I have been summoned!
Remember, bubertuber and dittany can make the finest mustache paste in the world🤣
huh just used ancient magic on a mongrel (would like to know if that's just a wild dog or a magical creature) anyone I turned it into a sheep. I have created a literal wolf in sheeps clothing
Lol, Internet says:
A mongrel, mutt or mixed-breed dog is a dog that does not belong to one officially recognized breed and including those that are the result of intentional breeding. Although the term mixed-breed dog is sometimes preferred, many mongrels have no known purebred ancestors.
true but are these that sort of mongrel or a special magical "mongrel". If they're the former than that means some of our potions use dog fur
True
How do I trigger the side quest with poppy to kill rookwood
We did the moon calf dance
It’s not a side quest
Do you mean to fight Harlow?
Cause that’s the second to last mission
Yeah I think whatever is after the moon calf dance
Just gotta progress the main story and do the Natty quests
Then you’ll fight Harlow
I’ve done the natty quests and I’m on the last trial just leveling up so I can defeat the graphorn
So just keep going and finish the trial?
Oh good idea
Is it main or side?
Defeat Victor Rookwood is a main quest.
Not necessarily, but close
I haven’t done it yet and I’m on the final trial
Well, just keep doing main quest and it will eventually pop up.
And make the right choice with
I turned him in although I understand he could’ve done other things besides kill his uncle
He was like cursed like Anne
I understand what it’s like to slowly lose a sibling but I would never kill my quardians
Wrong choice 😠
Next play through I’m not going to this was my non evils next is evil than nueteral
Siding with him isn’t evil…
I think he was wrong to kill his uncle but I’m hoping we get a dlc where he doesn’t go to azkaban I think he should’ve at least gotten in trouble I mean he murderd someone
And we haven’t?
I think we commit mass genocide on goblins and wizards
I haven’t used the killing curse and yeah I’ve thought about that but like I don’t care I just feel bad for Anne
There’s also the curse where you like, light people on fire
Or turn them into explosive barrels and blow them up on their friends
Yeah I think incendio is extremely under powered
Upgrade it
My favorite
My point is, there’s far worse than Avada Kedavra
Yeah
I agree I think he deserve to at least face trial but let back to Hogwarts so he knows there are consequences to actions
He knows already
Failing to cure Anne is the greatest punishment for him. His best friends betraying him is just too much
Haven’t thought of it that way I actually agree only if he didn’t kill Solomon he could tell them that it was rookwood and they would listen
You didn't know it was rookwood until he confronted you in Hogsmeade.
With that sentence.
Solomon was too impulsive. He attacked us AND refused to allow any means of trying to cure Anne
Yeah
He didn’t deserve death, but it was necessary to help her
He was very controlling
Plus he attacked us
I wish Sebastian was a good person, it would be nice to do away with the "Slytherin's are evil" stereotype, but no, he goes and kills his Uncle
Without any intention to kill
He is a good person
He commited murder???
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up being under imperio by someone in a sequel
that was no more than a over-rage actions that got out of control.
But if someone IRL committed murder you wouldn't put it down to them overreacting
He took somebodies life when it wasn't necessary
A simple depulso would have worked
Or an Arresto Momentum
Or Glacius
He wanted to make a point and was very angry
I think they are way passed non-unforgivable.
He's been telling Sebastian to give up on Anne,
From his perspective he thought there was no cure, and didn't want to give Anne and Sebastian false hope
That's the point, "he thought"
Yeah but he couldn’t bear the thought of losing his sister and in that rage he still lost her but In a different way
And was completely correct to think so, we have SEEN there is no cure
Better than just watch her die slowly.
Or the Avalanche simply didn't tell you
This is a big cliffhanger they must explain either in a DLC or in sequel.
She will still die slowly he just won’t be there and it will eat him away because he couldn’t be there because no matter what Anne always leaves
And we didn't even know what kind of curse Victor Rookwood cast.
I feel like there may be some kind of cure in a DLC or sequel, but not in a way Sebastian could've ever found, to not make players believe they made the wrong choice
But we knew it was human maybe we could fine a cure
Either way, we need an explaination on this.
Exactly, that's what I'm saying
Perhaps there are some curses with no cure
maybe
We don't know the nature of this curse, and Avalanche didn't explain either.
Yeah
It's not a goblin curse.
I feel like it's good to leave it ambiguous
Yeah but they fought it was and that has no cure
At least for now
What @tiny grove said
Yeah
this is why ominis is so against seb learning unforgivable curse. He's too impulsive
I think I probably spoiled it for you
And there's a reason it's unforgivable, I learnt the other two but after Solomon's death it just didn't feel right to agree with Sebastian saying everyone should know it
That it was rookwood I already knew that cos I’ve been watching spoilers on purpose because someone spoiled the ending for me so I stopped caring
He had traumatized memory of similar spells, so he don't want his BFF to go down this path.
Dude, Sebastian attack him first
Yeah I wish we learned more about ominous
Ahhh. Sorry to hear that. But it would always be best if you play it personally.
Well, his last name basically can tell a whole lot of stories.
Ehh it’s still really fun and since I can only play on weekends I don’t really care
Gaunt was one of the death eaters when Harry Potter took place
He summoned the relic and continues to attack us depsite the fact that Inferis are about to out of control.
As in, a distant ancestor
yeah like he said, DA seems to be the answer, until it doesn't
And by that time, it was too late
And so was someone with the surname Rookwood
Yeah but we still don’t know everything about the family and we don’t have stories from someone in the family
I like how they linked current characters in this game to characters in Harry Potter
Yeah
Fun little details that tied to the lore.
Professor Black (although he WAS in the books as a portrait), Professor Weasley, Rookwood, Gaunt
And the ghosts are in the game
And again, we ganged up on him. What do you want him to do? Accept every hits?
Yep, that's what the devs want: Authentic.
Well, I don't want to go to azkaban for that man just made me partner in-crime.
That's on the writing for rail-roading us. If this is proper rpg with branching questline, we might have been able to stop Seb before things go out of hand by either siding with solomon or ominis
He is a good person
We did a very poor attempt on stopping sebastian
He destroyed the artifact
Not this again 😭 he committed murder
sadly they don't have time to do branching story.
Youuuu said it not me
No? I said I wish he was a good person
I didn’t mind the choices cause those would be the choices I’d of chosen irl. Only difference would have been letting him go into the catacombs alone. I’d of went with him AND kept more from the uncle
Yes, the artifact that even student of salazar slytherin deemed to be too dangerous. And we don't even know if it's able to heal curse
He even destroyed the Shrivelfig
Something as small as a remedy
Part of me believes he didn’t want Anne to be cured because he liked the state she was in
I think he was sure there wasn't a cure and wanted to stop giving Anne and Sebastian false hope
So sure that he didn’t even know what kind of magic cursed Anne. They were trying to cure goblin magic, not wizard magic
No? They never specified it. They only said the healers of St. Mungo can't cure Anne
Nobody know it was Victor Rookwood cured her
... what
This is why we need someone with Sebastian’s loyalty and persistence. Otherwise, there’d be no revelation
Maybe they treated that curse like a goblin related curse?
It’s a sickness some people have. They enjoy taking care of someone
Pretty sure they said they already tried everything
They believed it was a goblin that cursed Anne with goblin magic. They likely only tried to cure her believing that information
Sebastian clearly says “we haven’t tried everything”
He's referring to DA
This was after he destroyed the Shrivelfig
They thought it was a Goblin Curses, until we realized it was Victor Rookwood
I’d of Crucio’d Victor until he either died or cured Anne
That man deserve it.
He had been looking for dark related magic since before this
Yes, but he was referring to the Shrivelfig as well
He’s literally trying everything
I really don't know what to say if you truly believes a man, who took care of his nephew and niece since they're young, will do this.
Ok, let me ask you this:
Are you telling me that if you had a debilitating illness that caused you constant pain and was slowly killing you, you WOULDNT want someone to stand by your side and try everything in their power to help you?
You’d rather them just give up on you and leave you to rot?
Not when the cure most likely involve them to harm other people
If Solomon would’ve minded his own business, no one would’ve been harmed
Honestly, only one harmed probably would’ve been Sebastian
I don't see anyone he's trying to harm.
yeah, let's ignore all the inferis he "control"
The ritual required a sacrifice. Sebastian went into the catacombs alone. Put two and two together
the relic require sacrifices. Whatever that will be
Look at my comment above
He went into the catacombs alone
Began the ritual alone
The only one that knew about it was Anne
He wasn’t gonna sacrifice Anne, he didn’t tell Ominis, he didn’t tell our character, it was just him and Anne. So we must fill in the missing puzzle pieces
So someone actually believe one person will sacrifice the person he wanted to save?
Potentially, I do not know what they’re thinking
Noct believes Sebastian was gonna sacrifice someone. But obviously, know he and Anne knew about the ritual. So I feel, personally, he was gonna sacrifice himself
As far as I see, nobody died nor would die in the process of him doing that stuff
Im starting to think this fandom revolves around sebastian
Going through my second playthrough, I’m noticing even more about him. He’s genuine in what he does, and if you listen closely to his dialogue, he never agrees to give up on finding a cure for Anne. So he doesn’t “lie”
There’s many that despise him, actually
That’s why he’s such a well written character
Like come on im sure you all had this debate around 500 times alredy
Because people keep yelling that Sebastian is some kind of dark wizard who's more evil than voldy...
And we are here to defend!
Wether you love or despise him no matter the subject if its relateted to hogwarts legacy the conversation is always gonna end up in a "is seb a good person or not" debate
I actually can’t believe people compare Sebastian to Tom. Literally, Tom lacks love, empathy, compassion, you get the gist.
We don't want this debate either, but people keep bringing that up.
Because if someone says “I turned him in. He’s evil.” I’m like “no, that’s not true actually. Break down his character.”
And then that starts a debate, which means the devs accomplished a well written character
Can we give Ominis some attention as well, please?
The funny thing is people can think hes evil, to me thats the point of his character, hes morraly gray. Its just a question of how you see things. And yes, your rigth it does prove that the writers achieved a pretty good character
Yeah lets do that
Cuse his family is lucky they weren't in the game
I’d have liked to see his father. I imagine a far more evil version of Lucius
If they think he's evil, I'm ok, but the problem is they come and yelling about it.
If they don’t want a debate, then don’t bring it up!
That's the point right here.
||butt................||
It summons the Knights of Sebastian
It depends, if its just sharing what they chose, i don't see the problem
I watch the cutscene again since it's been a while. It was not Seb who said "a sacrifice". And even then "a sacrifice" doesn't necessarily mean "one living being"
Also, Seb is the only one who can use the relic. How would he reverse the curse if he's dead?
Yeah, and I'm ok with that.
Sacrifice his own life to cure Anne
But i agree its annoying when people dont wanna share what they did, they just go and yell "sebastian is evil" to start a debate on purpose
Ominis says “there’s always a price”
And a sacrifice cannot be done on an Inferi cause they’re already dead. There’s nothing to sacrifice
Im not sure, he hadn't brougth anne so maybe it was to test the powers of the relic?
Okay now this is unfair. Afaik, nearly everyone I've meet, either on reddit, youtube, they all support Sebastian. While people who against him are called names and accused of being heartless.
I literally never see anyone compare him to voldemort
He did
He sent her the crest to meet him
Oh yeah thats rigth i forget about the start sorry
Then you haven’t seen this chat…
Especially those Cloud gamer(Game watcher)
There’s many people who don’t like him. Noct, you’re referring to the creepy fandoms about Sebastian I believe. Don’t include me in that lol
And you haven't seen other places.
Not to mention that your behaviour also doesn't help
This chat is full of people that take other's opinion on a virtual character far too seriously in both sides
My behavior? Stating how I view Sebastian and his choices?
If you don’t like debating a character in the necessary channel, then don’t involve yourself in the conversation
General youtube and reddit is creppy? Really?
There’s been some scary stuff I’ve seen
You're not stating your opinion. You keep making it like sebastian is objectively right
Let's not start personal attack over a opinion on a virtual character, ok?
Precisely
Keep it a civil debate
I mean this chat is almost sebastian debate 24/7 it can get pretty annoying if you wanna talk about something else, also its hard to ignore the fact that anyone just sharing theyre choice of turning sebastian in immediately get told theyre opinion is wrong
It is the spoilers channel and considering his story is the only story that actually has an affect on a story/character, he is most spoken about
I know but its not a conversation about him its the same debate over and over again
And most of the time, those “I chose to turn him in” also include how “evil” he is
Well obviously, people who turn him think hes evil
It seems logical enough
To which some of us (apparently many of us) respond with why he isnt evil
Again, I love the support, but a Slytherin shield is preferable…
I wouldn't care if you only said that he isn't evil. I don't think he is.
But have you notice that most of the times it is accompanied with "and he's right. Solomon is the evil one, etc."? That is what people have issue with
It’s not an “issue” they have, it’s a perspective
I forgot who it was, may have been you, someone said something like “He misses the OLD Anne and doesn’t like the NEW Anne.” Which makes him bad apparently
Idk anyone who would be happy to see their sibling in pain, so I interjected there
Sebastian himself.
Hmm?
He said he missed the old Anne,
Excuse me but anyone who says hes evil gets immedialty told theyre wrong, like we get it most of you think hes rigth but you can't decide for others. The point of sebastian is that there is no rigth answer considering his morality, its up to the player. Trying to convince everyone that a (for me) morally gray character is good, just because you think he is can get pretty annoying if constantly repeated. Because no matter what his story is meant to create a dilemma, and what you pick is not only completly subjective but also up to your personal expreience or feelings. So i dont exactly see the point of constanly repeating to anyone that says that sebastian was in the wrong that "no, hes rigth" when its gonna change from one personne to another
You can debate about what is canon or not, but debating about something that isnt meant to have a clear answer over and over again ? I dont see the point
Then why do people type things in here like “Sebastian is possessive because he wants the OLD Anne back and doesn’t accept the NEW Anne.”
To me, that is looking for a debate
And turning him in, for me, is the wrong decision. So I say “make the right decision”*
so I played the story a different way a few times... in one of the playthroughs I wanted to keep sebas around, admired and respected him etc... in another playthru I found him incredibly annoying and send him straight to azkaban xD like I hated the dude xD while my first playthru my character was about to go start dating him and seeing a future with him xD
See? There’s people that hate Sebastian
Here, i am talking about people who are just sharing their opinion, therefore sharing something with no clear answer. The whole "he is possesive" thing is character analyzing, it can have a relativly clear answer (wich, for me, is no) and its something interesting to debate. But it has nothing to do with wether or not you think hes evil
no, read the whole thing... there's a playthru where my character hated him, and there's a playthru where my character was obsessed with him
You can't just assume someone hate him by trying different outcome.
Only part he annoyed me in was where he bashed me for working with lodgok. Whether you like goblins or not, lodgok was helping us achieve our ends
That was the only part I was like “if you keep talking to me like this, I’m outta here!”
it all depends on the way you go thru the game, the way you play it and the way you make the choices and how your character feels and thinks
Our choices don’t affect the outcome, but it does affect the dialogue and change the character slightly
I heard he’s a bit rude to Ravenclaws
so it's not even different from one person to another, its just completely different how you feel about a fictional character in the way you play around it
I just can’t see the “evil” aspect in him
Naive and impulsive, perhaps. Evil, no.
Although I can’t say “naive” because he reads all the time and does his research before anything… help
The funny thing is its a fictional character, so
- You can have any opinion on him without necesarly "valid" reasons
- Its the point of his character, to have people love him and people hate him. So if anything, I thinks its a good thing to have varying opinions about him
that is because you can only see the world thru your own eyes and not somebody elses
To me its mostly that he was blinded by his goals
He took "the end justify the means" a bit too literally
point 2 is a fact, supported by the fact that we have a choice to send him to azkaban or not send him there... if he were factual good or evil, there would have been no choice
Idk if any of you watched the walking dead, but I was always team Negan, and a lot of people hated Negan
We need more characters in games and films that aren’t just “good or bad”
I cried when I watched the last potter movei in the cinema cuz voldemort died xD I watched the movies n read the books thru his eyes lol
Facts
I just finished a book that does that perfectly with the mc
You like Tom?
you know most of these "bad" or "evil" people just need a hug
Ehhhhh Tom was a bit evil though
Imagine if ominis raised tom though
That could have been so cool
Someone told me one time that Ominis dies in his late 30s or something
imagine if voldemort wasnt made thru the use of a love potion n grew up in a system
imagine if he had a true friend
I don’t think Voldemort had the mind to even love
like I saw these things when I was young, like IRL I was getting into psychology... and where ppl wanted to be an astronaut or doctor or whatever I wanted to be a psychiatrist in a prison because in every bad person is something good, but there's a reason they turned bad
Bellatrix doesn’t count
uh, no, that's the whole love potion thing, the reason he cannot feel love
Ah hell nah I need to know who or what killed him and get rid of it rigth now
Yea, so he’s basically incapable
but even if someone cannot feel love, they can still be cared for
Not if they use the killing curse on you
when he was a child? and was stuck in an orphanage?
Voldemort had a goal, to live forever. I don’t buy the whole “pure blood master race” bit
being bullied etc... like u realise that's how irl school shootings happen
He didn’t care about anything else
I dont know he did some pretty bad things to the other orphans
No matter the circumstance, you kill children, you’re just evil. Don’t care of the backstory
ive done bad things to ppl that bullied and outcast me when I was younger (not kill etc but still)
Like bringing some in a cave and traumatazing them so much they could never speak about it
Unless the child came at you with a knife or something, I can see it then lol
He killed and tortured a lot of kids. Cant have sympathy for him
I have sympathy for everyone, no matter what, because nobody is ever evil thru and thru, there is some good in everyone
