You know it just occured to me, I blame my missing it on being under the effect of a cruciatus curse. We just left the corpse of Ominis's relative lying there rather than bringing her along for a proper burial. Which given where she is makes retrieving her rather difficult.

@compact fractalI would also look up Sacking Selwyn (Cragcroftshire) and ensure you've also completed Summors Court 5 as this tends to glitch out and not appear on the map.

Worse case you'll have to go to your field guide -> quests and compare your completed quests against a list of all side quests on Google.

Slap them into a spreadsheet or similar and mark them off one by one.

What do you guys use for your main spell set, mine is expelliarmus confringo bombarda/diffindo and depulso (but I usually switch that one out depending on the spell I need)

Confringo, Levioso, expelliarmus and then Accio. All of my spells sets are set up for easy combos. For example my whole first spell set could be used on an easy combo and my second one can continue the combo. My first spell goes descendo, bombarda, glacius and then diffindo. Just makes it a lot easier to mash buttons

I've also gone for combos with a colour to each button so whichever set I'm on I know yellow shield breaker is the right, red is the button and utility the top. My sets are . . .

1. Lumos, Accio, Incendio and Transfiguration. Pull the in and hit them with a high power attack or turn them into something to lob.

2. Disalusionment, Glacius, Bombarda and Depulso. Throw the now burning enemy away then freeze and blow them up.

3. Winguardium Leviosa, Leviosa, Descendo and Diffendo. If still alive lift them up and slam them down then cut them, or for certain froggy foes grab their tongue then cut it off.

4. Repario, Expeliarmus, Arresto Momentum, Flippendo. Basically control spells to stop, flip or disarm and delay enemies while I focus on someone else

I have question: one of steam achievements is to breed every beast. I already bred all the capturable beasts in game, the only ones I cant breed are the phoenix and the graphorn, which you get 1 of from quests. So how do I complete the achievement? does that mean there are spots where I can capture phoenix / graphorn in the wild?

You only get 1 phoenix but you can catch a graphorn on the beach. Get a malea nd female then rbeed htem

i finally was able to figure out the animal doors, i had forgotten i need to look at a chart in my menu to see what animal is what number, then i add on the door and find out what number needs to be added onto the other two numbers to end up as the number in the middle and the number i need to add on to get the answer is the answer to the puzzle, then all i simply do is see what animal is that number i got

course now that i figured out the doors the Merlin trails are driving me nuts

there's a arithmancy classroom somewhere in the castle, and outside it is a chart of all the animals and the numbers they correspond to. I found this after solving 3-4 of the puzzles already.

For the timed pots u usually have some good spot u can zoom in one of the targets, then lock on swap to the others in time

When u unlock the broom and use revelio with that, finding the missing pieces is easier

For some of them u also need spells u might not have unlocked yet if ur not very far in the game.

Yes,you're not using the golden line that appears by pressing V. There are 3 methods of tracking. 1 are the yellow dots,2 are the purple dots,and 3 is a thin golden line that appears by pressing V or whatever your controller says to press. I don't think you've tried the third method and are still confusing it for the two dot methods :]

No, there is nothing of a morality tracker in the game. Only the decisions you make verbally with certain characters and one at the end can alter the ending,and it isn't by much tbh~ go ahead and learn them if you want :] you won't get a "bad ending" based on that~

Yeah he is a side quest character you meet only at Night :] I'm not sure if he appears after a certain set of quests done or not but you'll only see him at night in the castle right by the main locked door that leads up to the tower that'll get you to the hospital wing~ you'll learn level 1 2 and 3 from him I suggest learning them all and then finish as it'll be a great advantage as you explore but yeah~

You won't need to unlock the door to find him~ infact you won't be able to unlock anything until you do meet him. The quest or reason you have for goin to the wing rn is unrelated to Mr moon,as in you must meet him and complete his quests before progressing w.what you're trying to do now. If you're having trouble with his location I suggest googling how to learn alohamora and it will guide you~

Well,then it seems you'll have to find a guide that shows prerequisite missions and quests so you can back track and see what you need to do before you even get his quest. I have 4 bars of ancient magic. Why is it that sometimes after saving and leaving the game, I come back and I go from 4 full bars to 2 empty ones (half empty)? Is that a bug? I haven't used any ancient magic and this isn't the first time I notice it randomly get halved

On another note I just figured out disallusionment + arresto momentum = petrificus totalus allowing you to double hit the tougher foes. Sneak up, petrify, aresto, dislusionment then finish them off with a second one

Is this one of those scripted conversations where it doesn't matter if your at 0%, 50% or 100% or will my completion level change her dialogue? Yep. Either my spells just don't hit, even though I'm aiming on someone, or I get quadruple attacked and it goes 'through' my shield, or it just doesn't indicate when they're attacking me

@deft crest I found it fairly easy on normal may need to try hard for another character. 2nd fight gave me more trouble and the swarms later game are making me feel I need to start spending talents on some of these spell mysteries even though I dont really like them. If I could still do a base incendio rather than steam + ring I wouldn't mind but I dont like blasting out a massive ring of fire when trying to light a brazier or burn away some spiderwebs

There are some games where random household theft gets an acknowledgement but I generally treat is as RPG mechanics and not actually stealing from them just like in real life I don't find sacks of gold coins just sitting around the countryside and horses don't give birth ever half hour.

He was not able to speak the goblin language, all scripts we found he just commented with "ah i will get out what they are planning, we need more" and at the end i found the construction plan that you can understand without any goblin language.
After we left the mine my character said "Oh thank you Amit, I would never have gotten this far without you." Thats a true lie?!?

Is there any way to determine what ancient magic does when you use it? I like disarming foes then when they make comments about how immature I am picking them up and repeatedly slamming them into the ground (while imaging my character saying "I'm 15 I'm not meant to be mature you are") but sometimes it's a slam, sometimes it's a lightning bolt and sometimes I turn them into a chicken.

You only get XP for challenge progression. Once you’ve done all the tiers you stop gaining xp for it

So once you’ve got enough field guides for all the tiers of the Hogwarts field guide challenge tiers, you won’t get any more xp for any you pick up after.

Same with enemy kills. Once you’ve completed all their respective tiers you stop getting xp

So i finished the main game. I wanted to explore more of the world map, but I hate how there's 'completed' map icon check marks for bandit camps (and yet they respawn), and no map icon check marks for completed treasures, astronomy, etc. Has anyone found a good way to track their progress through the world map other than by the grey/green floo stations?

I feel like Fig would've hit harder if we knew more about our background. Like, imagine being a Pure Blood like the game files state. Your family must've thought you were a squib? Did they treat you badly for it? Why don't we ever hear from them? You have more family-esque moments with Fig than with anyone else. I liked walking into the map chamber and hearing him defending you to the Keepers. Him at the end saying Miriam would've liked you... it feels similar to when Harry gets his chance at a found-family with Sirius taken away (at least, at the end of book 3 before you know more about him). You don't really know the guy but you start thinking what if this person who seems to care about you sticks around...? You were possibly looking forward to taking his class next year (I'm assuming Magical Theory is NEWT level). It wasn't like tears-inducing but idk how you get through the game hearing about how much he loves his wife and supports you without feeling a little sad about that being gone. Now there's just... Weasley? It's not the same. You're alone, minus your peers.

The Slytherin common room has its bathroom outside the common room, but nowhere to actually bathe.

Gryffindor common room only has in house bathrooms for the girls, including a larger one worth baths.

Ravenclaw common room is the only one with two seperate toilets and bathrooms for girls and boys.

I HATE when I'm trying to engage in world building and someone pops by (not the case here just saying) simply to post something along the lines of "This doesn't help my damage stats who cares." You don't fine, but I love engaging in world building and discussing that with other people. Also doesn't mean I don't appreciate the love and attention the development team did put into it. The only thing I'd say is you have a choice to learn the killing curses and if you DON'T learn them at the time, you actually can learn them later. AK is great for trolls but its slow filling.

APPARENTLY work on Lethifold there is only one case afterall and he may have survived due to reasons other than using his patronus we don't know how many victims also tried using it. To me if there is a known creature affected by only one spell much less two you should teach students that spell. Sure they may never need it but it's better to know it incase rather than 10 different spells that affect all other creatures.

i find butterflies to be tricky because they only show up if you get near them. They don't auto produce on your map unless you've flown the area they are in. At least, that's how it was for me on the playstation.

It's the whole 'damaged boy with a heart of gold' trope. He's very much troubled and has a LOT of issues to work through, but he's also very loyal and cares deeply for his friendships. Thus why he's taken on a sorta Zuko effect, people like his angsty attitude and want to protect him.

He does feel genuine remorse when he puts us in harms way, but his obsession with helping his sister overrides his better nature. He's a good kid, just his own worst enemy.

I'm honestly wondering if the right thing to do in the end is turn him in or not (because that was spoiled for me on Facebook 🤣). On one hand, he's my friend and such and all he wanted was to help his twin sister and I can't really fault him for that, but on the other hand he's all "I didn't mean it" when you literally HAVE to mean those spells and he did go too far. I have time to decide, but I'm conflicted.

Seb became hyper focused on Dark Arts being the only solution.

He had tunnel vision and couldn’t see, and in a way, chose not to see how the thing he was doing might hurt those he loved. Like Ominis, Anne and Solomon.

Even you, if you let him use crucio on you. All of those around him suffered in one way or another.

You (potentially) had to endure crucio so he could get the book.

Ominis had to endure hearing crucio be used again. And (potentially) have Imperio used on him later.

Anne has to see her twin make a goblin off himself. And despite him asking him not to, continue to pursue dark magic.

And then Solomon, who while not the best guardian. Only wanted to spare his Nephew from Azkaban. He paid the ultimate price.

And Anne and Ominis are both left with the fallout and the pain of having to make an impossible choice, whether to turn him in or not, the same with the MC.

Oh yeah that definitely makes sense. haha but honestly, I'd say from a story standpoint, it's better to help him out than to turn him in. If you turn him in, he gets arrested off screen and seems to double down on who he blames for his sister's curse. If you help him out, he asks for your forgiveness and vows to work on himself, even redirecting his anger to those who are directly responsible.

Good to know. Seems not turning him in may be best. Even if I do partially think the best thing for him realistically (in reality, not fantasy) is possibly face the consequences of what he's done. I find that in some cases, it's the only way some people actually learn and grow.

Ominis even tells you that both he and Anne are torn about their decision. Liken they regret it, but it too late

Unfortunately, being guilty of using Unforgivable Curses gives you exactly what the name implies. You essentially get thrown into Azkaban and the key is thrown away. This is a world where forgiveness isn't common, and turning him in will likely turn him down more of the path of a dark wizard.

I don't really have any qualms with any sort of house getting good treatment, the only problem I have in that regard is that all houses didn't get equal treatment.
I understand that after Harry Potter and the Slytherins being the "villains" of that story, that they probably wanted to change the dynamic up a bit, but I honestly feel like each house should have been given a really fleshed out and amazing storyline like the one with Sebastian and Ominis.

The annoying part of Sebs questline is not being able to use ancient magic to cure Anne and his good ending sort of requires meta knowledge without which I'm inclined to turn him in, with it I'm not

This was my first playthrough, I had assumed that I was going down a House exclusive questline, and that got me excited to see what all the other houses would do. Then I learned that the "house quests" were just one small quest and that's it.

Amit isn’t a real companion as he has no relationship questline like Seb, Natty and Poppy. He’s a glorified NPC who we didn’t need. The Astrology tables should have been taught to use by the Astronomy teacher as she doesn’t teach us anything else. No spells or mechanics.

And the plans could have just been stolen and taken back to Lodgok or had the memories of viewing them viewed in a Pensieve for Lodgok to translate instead of taking Amit

Never mind the fact that Ravenclaws House Exclusive quest is the absolute weakest out of all of them

Not in terms of people who are part of Ravenclaw. I'm talking about how, out of all the houses, Ravenclaw is always just kinda there. Gryffindor is the loud folk with the hero complexes. Slytherin is the edgelords who have a rivalry with Gryffindor, so they're always loud. Hufflepuff is the house that's memed on, so everyone's always either dunking on them or memeing on them. But Ravenclaw is never really given anything all that special from a lot of HP projects. And then in HL, y'all get no real relationship quest, and no character that people are all that fond of.

Wiggenweld 2 is quite nice, but i wish i hadnt spent my points on stealth 2, since u barely use it after the Library quest. Well, sometimes, but there's only one quest where u have to restart if ur detected. So it's not worth it really if u dont mind fighting the enemies

That's where floo points come in or some hidden tunnel system. Personally I'd go with the later at the start of the game you find/are shown a hidden passage system you use for fast travel in the castle then later you learn apparation for fast travel outside it

instead of finding floo points you find access points that open up more options in your hogwarts hidden passages

Professor Weasley shows you a hidden tunnel from the common room to the great stair and tells you tehre are other ones in hogwarts and no one know's how many there truly are would make more sense to me than these floo points

It makes sense to me explore hogwarts to find various tunnels, slides and ladders linking the various areas including a couple of hidden rooms containing rewards like collection chests. Find X tunnel entrances and get parts of a hogwarts explorer outfit robe, glasses, hat, gloves and scarf. When you find all of them you unlock the central chamber allowing travel between any of them, fast travel and inside a chest in the central chamber hte outfit part of the costume.

Then you get taught apparation by Figg to get to get back from Bakor tower so you can explore other remote sights. Then instead of floo points you find distinct landmarks you can use to apparate around the highlands

You will get a quest to speak to Deek at some point and he will tell you about beasts and give you your pouch/bag for catching them. Only AFTER can you catch them and place them in your vivarium. And I believe that even more after do you get the option to meet the woman that works at the ''pet shop'' that you can sell those creatures you caught to.

Just finished the shop quest have to say I'm not a fan of the names we can choose.

1. Vesters and Venum or roughly vests for sale putting us in competition with gladrags as a clothing shop.

2. Cladwell and brewster more surnames I think could also be a clothes and brewing shop putting us in competition with both gladrags, the three broomsticks AND the hogs head tavern.

3. Stitche's and daughts a medical and potion shop putting us in competition with JP and all the other potion vendors.

Just know the name doesn’t designate what you sell it is completely cosmetic. Also, what Penny said is flavor dialogue. She implies she can sell anything. However you can only sell gear and nothing more. I was super disappointed because Penny made it seem like I could sell all the overstock plants, materials and potions I have. Anyway, the store signage shape varies in how they look based on the name you pick that’s really the only difference.

A generic one like Curios and Enchanted Items which at least doesn't compete with existing stores. There one I really like has an amazing exterior. Like cool hanging lights and tall flowers. By the front door with a little garden. The inside is cozy and even has a little floor entry that leads to a treasure vault

It’s the village where the old lady has a side quest to investigate the battle arena. And the shop keeper there has the missing family heirloom. The house I like is sorta across from that old lady’s house.

That’s a good point! Where I live 9pm is the time the mall closes usually and I didn’t even think of it being odd. But yes given the time period and the small village shop vibe, I’m not sure. In game though the shops seem to be open 24/7 at least for the MC

@zenith abyss That's something I class under RPG mechanics like the sacks of coins just lying around the countryside and people not complaining about you taking things from their houses. Our mall shuts around 5pm. I very much doubt 1892 hogsmeade shops are open at 9pm to buy stuff from

just a hot button with me. Too many times seeing someone posting on forums "NERF THIS! Its too OP" when they're using some obscure combination that boosts the end result or an ability that a lot of players rely on as their get out of trouble card as they're not as good as the people crying for nerfs. Then when you suggest they just not use that ability the response is always "How can you expect me to play without using the best minmaxed build I can find I must use this and because I find it too easy it must be nerfed to give me more of a challenge." One game went so far with the "balance changes" that it literally made the early tutorial missions impossible to complete unless a higher geared player came to help because you couldn't do enough damage to beat hte boss

I don't think Azkaban to be usefull in any way, shape or form, and it is too big of a punishment for what he did given the circumstances.

On the other hand, he knows about ancient magic while being a free electron, and he clearly would be willing to kill us to make his sister healthy. He would be very likely to imperio us to remove Anne's pain, in part because he didn't see the consequences of removing said pain.

So I'd want at least an unbreakable vow from him not to speak to anyone about the ancient magic, and not to ever again cast an unforgivable curse, regardless of which one
