the quests are side content, they release either overtime or when you do certain main story quests. so if anything once you do all your side content then knock out some MSQ and itll come up

I use brooms over flying mounts, it’s just more versatile plus I like to float and hover on roads and it’s easier to grab loots on high places. I only do the Graphorn for showing off and slow walking around for pictures and stream. I’ve never really needed the charge attack cuz I got spells and it’s not very handy even against trolls cuz magic is more fun

There are 3 types of stone blocks:

1. Blast them with Confringo
2. Platforms that you have to jump on without landing on anything else in between (and you can't use your broom)
3. The ones which have a strange light in them need you to look around for butterflies and pull them back to the blocks with Lumos. 3 sets of butterflies for 3 stone blocks. If you have one of these, change to Night, it'll make it easier to find the butterflies because they don't show up with Revelio

They're pretty easy anyway. You just sometimes need to figure out the right order to jump (in one case, it's better/easier to jump from higher to lower)

Maybe a damage increase to the numbers to signify more power.

The green X is the curse debuff and can be applied by either casting an unforgivable curse, or by using a dark arts talented spell (expel, flipendo, arresto, stupefy). No matter the source, the debuff does not stack and can be applied only once, so casting crucio on an already cursed target will just refresh the debuff

curse debuff makes you do an extra 5% damage. Since crucio automatically applies the curse debuff, it automatically benefits from that bonus even if the target was not previously cursed

while the base curse debuff is nothing extraordinary (5%, or 1.05 multiplier), it becomes super broken if you stack the unforgivable curse trait (which adds +30% per trait, up to +180% stacked 6 times, or 2.8 multiplier). At that point, a cursed target will take 1.05x2.8 = 2.94 times the damage (almost triple damage)

Just finished the game with all challenges 100% letting the credits roll -- I can't help but feel they should've given it at least a couple more months to bake in the oven.

Still it was a generally enjoyable journey. 😀

I really wish they'll come up with Years 6 and 7 expansions that add all the small details that didn't make into the initial release -- make the game feel more alive. And more QoL.

confringo does about 3.5k damage, incendio about 3k, which kills every mook, and I don't even have lvl 40 gear in all slots, I did that since level 28 as I wasted a lot of time on my first playthrough doing sidequests first

even my normal attack kills stuff in 2-4 hits

At lv40 with 450 offense, on hard difficulty, confringo will do a base of 1075 damage. Incendio has twice the potency, so will do 2150. Worthy to note that at offense levels below 350, the damage drops to about 1/4 of that, and you won't have more than 350 offense below lv 33

Also, there's no such thing as "crit". Glacius is a baseline 2x multiplier. If you see twice the damage, it means your target was frozen at the time of impact. If not, then it wasn't. Also, your numbers are way off the chart

If you stack confringo trait 3 on all 6 items, use focus & max potion, together with having room of req talent for pots, you can easily hit around 13-20k dmg.

That goes for any of the red spells.

Well to me the stats are a game mechanic whereas in "real life" there's no magic robe that gives you + x to offence. So you have your mechanic rpg element and your clothing for the harry potter element

I’m done w the game for the most part, grinding out the last of the collectibles. I’m level 39 almost 40 offense and defense are somewhere around 800 and health is about 1200, not exact but not in front of my game

With those traits, you have a 1.623 multiplier for confringo, and 1.411 for incendio.

On hard you do half damage. Even assuming 450 offense for max multi(86), your confringo would do 25×86×1.623×0.5 = 1745

Your incendio would do 50×86×1.411×0.5 = 3034

With glacius bonus, you can double that and get 3440 and 6068 respectively. If you factor in juggle vuln (+20%), you would get 4188 and 7282. In ant case, your incendio should be almost 2x the dmg.

If you get the same numbers, it means something is changing with your testing conditions

typically their levels are capped depending on the zone. Eg, in the far southeast or in the forbidden forest, they can scale up to 35-40, while some areas are capped to lv20-25

I am in the southmost area and all mobs at camps are 27-30

not my fault the game doesn't actually spawn lvl 40 enemies

also damage doesn't change with enemy level, I do the same damage against lvl 20

enemy types have a set armor, and only scale with health and attack power

(or it's an additional level difference coefficient which caps out, dunno, I also don't care, I just observe what's actually happening in my game and that's me oneshotting enemies)
