Not really, also depends on the nature of the quest, according to ign, ont of the side quest is simply accio flying book in a room for a student or something, so they might not all be hour long side quest

The combat in 1 is unbearable and 2 is not as good as 3. I recommend playing 3 first, and then 2 if you absolutely love it and want more

If you're going to do a short segment then a "four years later" you can probably sum that content up with a cutscene instead
