#Beam randomly stops working after a pc freeze followed by a Windows update

I've been running Beam for a long time now without any issues, but yesterday my laptop entirely froze, forcing me to do a hard restart with Beam running. Turns out I also had a windows update, and after that was completed I begin booting everything back up again. I go to boot Beam from Steam, and Steam will say it's running for maybe three seconds before falling back to the 'launch' option. I'm unsure what caused this and even less sure how to fix it, any help would be massively appreciated.

I seem to be all good on updates aside from the one after the crash

I've tried pretty much every method I know of, done multiple restarts, reinstalled and verified Beam's files multiple times, and it still refuses to launch. I'm honestly at a loss for how to fix it lol

yep, steam gives the 'launching' into 'stop' for a few seconds, then right back to 'launch'

  • Uninstall any previous installation of Beam (Webcam Edition / iOS Edition) and try again.
  • White list Beam Eye Tracker in your Firewall
  • Make sure your camera is accessible at start. You can test that by opening the generic Windows camera app and verifying your visibility. Then start Beam.
  • Remove the log files here: C:\Users\ [Your Windows Username]\AppData\Roaming\Beam Eye Tracker

whats weird to me is that event viewer doesnt throw any errors or anything

reading through the log, most is incomprehensible to me but some text at the bottom reads 'ImportError: LoadLibraryExW 'C:\PROGRA~2\Steam\STEAMA~1\common\Beam Eye Tracker\shiboken6\Shiboken.pyd' failed: The handle is invalid.' That could be it

i have almost the same problem, i was runnig out of space so i restored it to delete all apps and personal data, i reinstalled games and beam but beam do not open
