I would like to submit a request for the compatibility of Eye Tracking with Beam Eyes Tracker to be added to VRChat via OSC. Currently, Beam Eyes Tracker offers a powerful solution for tracking eye and head movements, but it seems that there is no native support for this technology in VRChat.

#

Having tested various configurations, I believe that the integration of Beam Eyes Tracker would enhance the immersive experience for users, especially those using avatars with advanced features like eye tracking. Moreover, since Beam Eyes Tracker is based on an accessible camera, this could open the door for more players to enjoy eye tracking without the need for expensive specialized equipment.

#

Would it be possible to consider adding this compatibility in a future update?

Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this request.

Thanks for raising this. Yes, we had discussions with quite a few Vtubers in the past. There were a few tools that they seem to use and we reached out to a few but they basically wait for the community to request it before they make such integrations.

If you're a dev you can build an extension yourself: beam.eyeware.tech/developers

#

Our SDK is free to use. I just found this OSC page that would help with getting that up and running.

VRChat

VRChat now offers support for receiving eye tracking data (eyelook and eyelid) via OSC. Please note: This is an advanced feature! It is NOT plug-and-play. You must create your own program to transmit this data to VRChat using OSC. Hardware manufacturers may provide an application that will send this...

@lethal cedar maybe have a quick look at the doc.

I have already coded the Eye Tracking. But the problem is that it doesn't work on Vrchat. I have tried all the addresses.
I need to set up a complete avatar.

#

But Thx for this

Hi! Do you happen to have a repo where we can look at the code and see if we can contribute ? I'm not familiar with VRChat OSC protocol, but I'm willing to test it out if I have a head start.
