Okay, let me rephrase that: the part of that wiki about the characters and the plot / story is clearly an unfinished, abandoned project. And that's the part of this wiki that pertains to this channel.
If any part of the wiki is still being developed and updated, that's great. I'm not against the wiki or criticizing it, I wouldn't link it here many times otherwise, so don't take it that way. The more websites and projects of the fans, the better.
However, even the character list itself stopped some time ago, there's more than one newer character missing, so no one is continuing it.
It isn't an accusation towards whoever was/is in charge of it (I guess you or someone you know?), I'm just stating how it looked like and still looks like today.

Yes. I was busy, I didn't have time and energy to visit Discord, but I saw it inside the game.
The newest stories in Showdown, they happen after the cinematic with fiery Tarka and Zai, after Tarka took Omnius fire avatar inside himself. Valda was taking care of him and is looking for a ice cure for him, it seems he's dying because of that.

Finally, Akos and Feria had a nice scene together as a couple. I think it was a nice scene, their reunion after they split up on Morus isle earlier.

From what I have seen so far, in most cases, the newer the translations, the closer it is to the original. The oldest translations deviate the most from the original. But even the newer ones don't always match, so we can always check.

I don't remember if I've already mentioned this on the channel, I think I did, but that was my suspicion for a long time. It seems pretty obvious from his biography that Akos' parents or one of his parents must have been from the tiger tribe.
This also appears as a clue from Inor's cultivation story and elsewhere, including item descriptions.
He was actually found with a real tigress in a province of Icuria that borders the Grasslands/Canis - Arbott. He was taken away by hunters, then grew up and continued living in another province that also borders Grasslands/Canis in the north, this time CloudSparrow.
Maybe the tiger tribe was from the Arbott province (Jungle province), where tigers were/are hunted and that tribe no longer exists, leaving Akos as the last descendant?

In Zai's case, this is a continuation of their long story - Tarka and Zai's and the latest cinematic. She probably accepted him because he sacrificed himself for her and absorbed the fire avatar of Omnius. But how does this relate to the mental control the organization has over her, because she is an Annica...

It's open to personal interpretation as to what the use of the word Naraka means in this game, as in any form of art.

Among the pinned links to this channel is also my google drive and on the google drive are translations of the stories of places from the Chinese website that don't have an official English equivalent, so you can look there if you like and start with the legend of the beginning of this world.
There's not much there, but it explains a lot. You could read it all in a day.

In my opinion, Naraka is used in the sense of hell on earth (metaphor) for humans and also an eternal cataclysm that repeats itself when the celestial bodies of gods of Yang (Sunwing) and Yin (Moonbane) are periodically reborn in the world and they destroy the world by fighting each other, in an endless cycle. Only Morus was protected by the Aegis tree, but it's destroyed now.

None of the playable characters has died and been resurrected so far. At least, as far as we know. This word isn't hell or paradise, some kind of afterlife, no. It's a "normal" world. A fantasy world, similar to our older world and with references to our real history.
Matari perhaps may be the next incarnation of the former princess / prophesied ruler of Holoroth, but this is uncertain. She may also be her descendant or disciple. Or all at once.

They got the cure, but they - and we - don't know yet if it will work. I think Valda hopes for that it will work more than she is sure, but she doesn't know any other or better solution or way, cure. She's desperate to save him.
We have to wait to next stories and news to know what will happen next.

Zai started betraying Annica much earlier. But she has a mental control in her, which she can't get rid of that easily. It isn't the matter of her will. She in theory doesn't have a free will if the leader of Annica will give her an absolute order. We don't know how she can fight it and if she can at all.
Maybe she will lose control over herself in the future in an important moment and they will have to fight her again.

Zai was hunting Valda only because that was what Annica organization wanted. Maybe they don't care about catching or killing her anymore.

Annica, as an organization, has various divisions and these divisions are named after colors.
We know there's at least a white division and a black division, perhaps others as well. Members of these divisions are named by number; they lose their real names upon joining the organization and don't receive new ones. Their new name is a number. The number depends on the hierarchy.

Zai is in the WHITE (Bai) division, not the black one. The only person from the black one (black reaper), that I remember, appears on descriptions of Zai's halloween items.

There's no such thing as members of this organization always working in pairs, threes or always solo. I think it depends on the mission and nothing more. Those higher up in the hierarchy, in a sense, keep an eye on those below them, but what truly controls them is some kind of magic, known and controlled only by the current leader of the organization, which mentally turns them into puppets; they can't disobey the person giving the orders.

First and foremost, read the stories of Zai cultivation from the original Chinese. Alternatively, read them translated from Japanese.

Hmm... It's hard to say from Zai's story. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of her being someone from Heralds, as many of them, including Wuchen and Tessa, interfere in the governance and politics of all countries, not just Icuria.
Wuchen in particular seems to be highly regarded at the current Icurian court, so perhaps it was Tessa (pretending to be someone else), perhaps her mother or someone else from their Psylith sect among Heralds, or some other human troublemaker who might be connected to them, or perhaps to someone else.

Agnivat was the former leader of all the Heralds. I thought she was a male earlier, but we now know she's female.
Omnius took over from her when the worst events on Morus island occurred. And from what we now learn, Agnivat has voluntarily isolated herself since then, but through tormenting herself in solitude, she lost her mind. Now she's like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings. 😄

Temulch "grandma" was among Grasslands tribes for a long time and she was the strongest shaman there. I think she had a lot to do with what was happening around there for a long time, with the decisions of the Grey Wolf King and the war between Grasslands and Holoroth too. I think it's an interesting character.
We don't know as much about her yet as we could and I would want. 🤔

As tabbie wrote, we don't know if Heralds really die even when their bodies apparently die. Tianhai is a Herald too.
Compared to humans, their species are like lesser gods. They can be creatures that are able to function outside of their bodies if they have sufficient power, cultivation level or whatever / however we would call it.
They don't die of old age, that's what we know for sure.

And I don't think Tianhai will die during the plot of the game. They would have to delete him from characters available to play. Unless he would be ressurected, but I don't feel like they will go this way too far. Also from some descriptions it seems he's younger than I initially thought he is.

The problem with Red Dove city was that they lost water sources because they were too greedy and were mining too much for making weapons for wars.

It's possible that they died out by the lack of water or because of the wars or they're still alive, but will die later. Or they will flee somewhere else.

His family was a nobility, governing the Red Dove city.

Cyra has this crazy theory, that was officially rejected in the past by Lunazran temple, that those geological veins are ancient blood of Sunwing's body and shouldn't be mined for that reason, should be treated as sacred.

Wuchen supposedly predicted everything using his skills and planned to kill Hadi's mentor when he was a small child, but in the end he didn't do it.
Hadi's mentor died as an old man.

Heralds is the name of their species. They aren't humans.
Psylith is a name of one of three of their "sects". Of those of Heralds who lived through the last calamity and destroying of the world in Morus, under the Aegis (Fusang) tree's protection.

But that in turn doesn't fit Viper's alternative clothes... unless Viper only thinks she was freed by Sunwing and is wrong about it. Maybe in truth Moonbane freed her from Sunwing in that alternative universe... but then, it gets chaotic either way.

In the original / first universe, only anything related to Moonbane and Yin is purple - Viper and her power, the mask, Orochi, etc.
And everything related to Sunwing seems to be gold / yellow everywhere.
Wherever the powers of Yin and Yang are depicted, for example in the hourglass relic, that too is purple and gold.
In the alternative universe, it's hard to say why purple Cyra if alternative Viper is golden and supposedly Viper went under Sunwing.
Maybe the purple Cyra thinks she follows Sunwing, but in fact she's following Moonbane, without knowing it consciously? Or Moonbane is pretending to be Sunwing there, in the context of Cyra? Tricking Cyra into having her as a follower, since Moonbane lost Viper - a strong pawn - to Sunwing?
If Moonbane is the same in the alternative universe, then it's possible. We know Moonbane is tricky. Besides, Sunwing too.

...Or there are 2 elements of the purple-red set, which is a different set from the purple-dark set for Cyra.
Is it another / second, more red set for the alternative Cyra? Or is there a third version of the universe and Cyra? I don't know.

The latest event with more info about Reversal Flows make me only think more towards this direction.

Inor managed to transport Cyra to the Dusk / Twilight Valley (Vesper Coven), she met Tessa there (which was there since a long while ago, posing as a local fox goddess and mentor to the Sorceress Ten of the Embers tribe regarding Sunwing).
Inor and Cyra probably talked there with Tessa and maybe Wuchen and decided later to travel to Morus together again.
They probably told Cyra that she would learn more about Sunwing on Morus and Inor also wanted to discover the secrets of Morus because of his parents and what his father had left him in terms of travel records.
I don't know if Cyra payed for the second comission to Inor (Milith payed for the first one - to get Cyra out of Lunazra, where they wanted to kill her for blasphemy) or if they went on the next journey more privately than as one of Inor's job, without paying this time.

Inor was teaching Cyra how to use weapons (polesword) for her to know how to defend herself. On their way to Morus.
What happened with the rift probably happened on Morus or on the way towards the island.

Valda helped Justina and her mother Dealyn escape from them and she's still a loyalist on previous crown prince Virion's side (Justina's father).

Previous crown prince Virion WASN'T killed by 8th prince Lord Qi. He went into hiding for years, he's still alive and being used by Tessa.
Icuria's emperor is supposedly also still alive. It isn't Lord Qi, Lord Qi is only an imperial prince. Maybe he's the current crown prince.
Justina... I don't know if she wants the throne. Or if Valda wants her on the throne.
Her mother Dealyn seemed to want Justina as the next independent Empress, Justina has a special horoscope, but it might not come to be.
Valda is loyal to the previous crown prince, like her father. And his father and her helped Justina and her mother escape and stay hidden.

Some older infos are indeed lost in items that only those that bought them still have / can see or past events that probably won't ever happen again. And we can only rely on what everyone in the community saved from those events and are willing to share with others.

You mean she's the most powerful of all characters? She isn't. Among playable characters not all of them are even human. Viper is just a human and a younger one.

Matari isn't a lesbian. She's in one of 3 official pairs. With Temulch. She's probably in love with Temulch, despite herself and their stories.

Yi (reference to legendary archer Hou Yi, it seems) shot / "killed" 9 bodies of Sunwing before he started Icurian empire. He didn't harm Moonbane. He was only able to do that because Moonbane helped him, gave him own scale, which became the mask.
He was a leader of his tribe and a leader of cooperation of many tribes against Yushan (human) tribe, but he wasn't a royal. There was no kingdom and no king and even more emperor at that time, though he was close to a king figure.

Viper is a chosen maiden of Moonbane in her cult. A powerful tool for her cult's glory and purposes. It's that kind of a position. She went successfully through a kind of ritual, Moonbane recognized her. Something like that. The Matron is even higher position in the cult and even worse one.
It's better to read her cultivation stories from Chinese, much more details and the right ones.

Heralds are another species of humanoids, they appeared on Naraka's Earth much earlier than humans. And they're biologically and spiritually / magically / in terms of Yin / Yang different from humans. Humans have impure Yin and Yang Qi in their bodies and in bad proportions.

There are several cinematics - most of them are on English Naraka's Youtube channel - with bits of the story, the rest is only in written form, scattered throughout time and throughout the game.

@quasi lily and some others from time to time were planning to do something like that, but I don't know how it goes.
I haven't asked recently.

We learn about things from various times. There is no day 1. And there will be probably no last day, the game will work as long as the story won't be finished. If story ended, then the game would have to end too.
Also events in Yushan with the Matron fight happens before some characters reach Morus, I think.
We are jumping between different times, characters and places in the stories.

8th imperial prince's Lord Qi is actually his Chinese name / title (Qi is more probably a title than a first name).
They didn't come up with any other name for him in the English version.

I think Wuchen is closer to the protagonist of the game. He's the main schemer of the whole story in the current time in the front, the one and only half-human / half-herald hybrid (which was supposed to be impossible to exist and live on) and even the main character in the manhua.

Imperial blood is much higher than royal blood (Emperor > King, Empire > Kingdom). Empire is made of at least several kingdoms.
Even more considering that merchants governing Holoroth made themselves nobles more recently in history than Yi made the empire and his family the imperial family (and founders of Holoroth were just merchants and similar people, maybe rich but of lower standing after all, while Yi was from the leader family of his tribe, had an unusual Qi for a human and he became a legend as a human), Holorothian "royalty" is like fake royals or at most dukes from some perspectives.
Temulch isn't royal at all. He's said to be a descendant of the "Grey Wolf King" who wasn't really a king in the formal sense; he was merely the leader of his tribe and charismatic enough that he led a coalition of other tribes as well.
He was a self-proclaimed "king" who was not really recognized as a formal king by Icuria nor by Holoroth, Helioth or Lunazra.
The Grasslands isn't a kingdom or any other form of a country per se, but a name of a land where loose, various tribes have their territories and exist, who don't always have a positive attitude towards each other.

That's possible. The new parts of the story of various characters are not inserted in chronological order, but randomly, so it's hard to say who will be next unless they've announced it somewhere yet.

You meant Inor? Or his biological father? Or his adoptive father? His adoptive father is from City of Tang. Which is formally in Holoroth, but in the part under Icuria's influence and many Icurians live and do bussinesses there. His biological father was from one of 5 greates noble families of Icuria.

If you meant the next character that will have family name Li (but not the same as Inor's Li - Plum) then I don't know anything. It's said to be another character from a different universe, as tabbie said. Like Ziping or Kylin.

All Chinese elements are from and bound with Yin and Yang. Everything is "made" from Yin & Yang. And Yin and Yang are two equal parts of the primordial Chaos, which was first, before anything else in the universe known to us.

I think Inor's personality is very different from Akos. And it can be seen during their encounter. But it's my opinion, you can see it differently. 🙂

I think it's less that they are alike and moreso the cadence in which the English VA talks. It's very similar to Akos with the sound that I was not expecting. I expected something similar to Wuchen or Kylin tbh given how he seemed in the lore, but I think I just pictured him sounding differently

I personally use the Japanese voices for the characters, because for me they're the best. Not only in this game, I generally prefer Japanese over Chinese, especially Mandarin. Japan also have a lot of very good modern voice actors. The English ones are the worst and it's also similar in many other similar games, at least in my view. 😄 The Chinese ones are somewhere in the middle, although they take priority here because it's a Chinese game after all.

To be honest, I had a similar feeling - I expected a different voice for Inor (Japanese). I don't think it fits his face and personality. 😄 And it does sound similar to Akos (Japanese). In English too? Is that intentional? Were the tiger tribe and the panther/leopard tribe somehow related? Are they cousins? 🤔
Maybe @lyric idol and you are onto something with thinking that Inor and Akos are similar...

I was also a bit surprised by the seemingly lower quality of Inor's voice compared to all previous Japanese voices; these are often high-quality voice actors from well-known anime, visual novels, etc. Inor's voice actor doesn't seem very well-known when I was looking for him on Google. The quality / the volume of his recorded lines (of sound) also seems to be a bit lower than for previous characters. 🤔 Maybe it's a matter of lower budget at the moment, maybe something else.

Wuchen is attracted to Tessa to some degree, though this may change. They aren't in a romantic relationship (yet), at least not seriously.
I don't really see Viper and Wuchen as a pair, but who knows.
I think it's more likely that sparks will fly between Tianhai and Viper than between her and Wuchen. Especially since Wuchen is already attracted to Tessa and on the other hand perhaps considers ordinary humans to be inferior to himself - the hybrid and a genius tought by Heralds.
Another thing is that we don't know if Wuchen is immortal like Heralds. He's only half Herald, so he may not be immortal, but just much more long-living than humans.
Anyway, it's kind of true that Wuchen strives to rule this world, or at least this continent. It isn't exactly a theory, but more like something already confirmed and something he doesn't hide.
His weakness is overconfidence. And Nuxin has the biggest hook on him: a piece of his soul, just as tabbie mentions. But he only has himself to blame for trusting Nuxin and allowing this to happen.

I think Wuchen has complexes both related to Heralds and humans. It isn't cute.
I wouldn't describe their relation as cute. It's rather full of tension. Though I wonder how it will go later in the manhua.
He's unique and doesn't quite fit in with either species. This may also be one of the factors hindering their relationship.
The English translation in some places put a slight emphasis on the narrative that Wuchen is physically attracted to Tessa, but doesn't like it at all. Lust is stronger than reason, more or less, he isn't happy about it.

An empire in general isn't the same as a kingdom and other types of a country. And every country had it different, different in different times too. There weren't any two identical countries, courts and so on.

All characters (among those currently playable) have tragic elements in their past and/or present. Some also may have a rather bleak future ahead of them.
I personally still stand by my earlier opinion that all characters' stories are interesting and well-developed, and that's great because that's how it should be in every story. I don't see any one or three being better or worse, more tragic or less tragic.

We know from real cultivation stories that Zai's childhood was worse.
In the English version, both had very bad childhoods. Hard to say which was worse.
But the English alternative version doesn't go any further and doesn't tie in with the rest of the information inside the game, it's a dead end. Zai in the English version is a sadistic psychopath. She skinned strangers and played with their corpses. In the real version, it doesn't happen. In the real version, she's neither a sadist nor does she seem to be a psychopath. She's just battered by what she's been through, which is understandable given her situation. The same goes for Viper.

I think maybe the member of the Black division in Annica will be included as a playable character in the future, though I think it's more likely that characters who have already been mentioned by name will be included earlier, like Inor.
Such as Rin or the son of the Tang family (City of Tang), who is Shayol's coworker in Golden Keepers.

That's interesting.
Charioteer is the Tianhai's master from the past. New Tianhai's items suggest that he was looking/will be looking (probably the first option, we don't learn about events chronologically) for his master in Holoroth and there was some story there.
I'm more sure now that normal Rift Traversal is to the past, not to the alternative reality.

The effect of a time loop in such a situation would be that the future resulted from something someone from the future did in the past. It's a bit complicated, but in any case, there's no alternate reality here. There's an event that happened before it happened, so it's bound to happen, as convoluted as that sounds.

That's why it's a time loop without resolution, as it has neither a beginning nor an end. It doesn't require an alternate reality.
Back to the Future was a bit like that too, but not entirely.
An alternate reality is when something had happened differently and a separate space-time had arisen from that moment that is going differently.

The people we'll help escape must be those two cowards from a further branch of the Holoroth royal family, one of whom fled to Icuria, the other to Lunazra. Which means that at least this part of the Rift Traversal takes place around when Grey Wolf, the self-appointed king of Canis / Grasslands, personally attacked and destroyed Holoroth with the Mask of Immortality. The state of Holoroth would also indicate that.

I think we should separate these to not get confused.
From what we see, rifts are based on Yin and Yang, or perhaps primordial Chaos in general (which is even higher) and the Aegis tree, which works as an axis mundi for this universe.
Regular rifts seem to lead to the past of the same reality and specifically only to Holoroth.
Traversal Flows shows at least one bigger / different rift that didn't lead to the past, but in the present time to another / alternate reality of the same universe. At least Inor and Cyra traveled through it at least once. I wouldn't count Traversal Flows as a crossover, as it's essentially the same game and story, just a different platform (mobile). Rift Traversal had one time-limited event regarding this so far.
Heralds can create portals, teleport in space (as can be seen in Showdown and read in stories), but it looks different from rifts and works in the present time and one reality.
The rifts were described as an anomaly before they first appeared. This likely has something to do with what Wuchen, Tessa, other Heralds are up to, but the exact consequences are yet to be determined.
And then there are gates / doors that apparently lead exclusively to another dimension / universe. Not to another time of the same reality, nor to an alternate reality of the same universe. They appear in both Rift Traversal and Survival mode / Herald's Trial, so they aren't exclusive to Rift Traversal and aren't the same as rifts.
One such gate seemed to explain how Kylin (crossover character) got into this universe or travel around this universe, as in his cinematic. Although he's been in the game for a while now and appeared earlier in another cinematic too. The second / current gate is from a new event, which is a crossover from another universe, probably some kind psychiatric hospital - I guess it's on the occasion of Halloween.
So basically, only gates are between dimensions / lead to other universes / are relevant to crossovers.

There's probably a reason why ordinary rifts lead to Holoroth at a specific point in history.
And there's probably also a reason why there was a completely different kind of rifts that led to a present time of an alternate reality. And it's also Holoroth.
We'll likely learn more over time. Maybe Rift Traversal's older Holoroth is a way for players to learn more about the past in a different way than reading.
We don't yet know Inor's exact role in this, or why.
It may be related somehow to Aegis tree through his Wood Qi.
Perhaps he's just an observer while searching for Cyra.
I've written this before, but I think Cyra's disappearance probably didn't happen until they've reached Morus together later. Or it was resolved relatively quickly, if she was lost and found earlier on their way to Vesper Coven and only after that did they reach Vesper Coven and then set off for Morus. 🤔
Either way, so far we have seen Inor in an alternate reality of the present time, not in the Holoroth from the past of this reality.

I'm playing Rift Traversal today and it's definitely interesting. It looks different now. This is definitely Holoroth from the time when the Grey Wolf king destroyed Holoroth with the mask, in this reality, so 300 years ago.
So, the previous Holoroth was either Holoroth from the Traversal Flows - so from an alternative reality - after all, or perhaps from a different point in this reality's history. 🤔
Since we know now how it must have look around the time of the war, given the current state of affairs, I think the previous Holoroth may have been much older - when buildings were being first built (which explains the lack of an Empyreal Village), or - the only other option I see - it was from when it was being rebuilt after the attack but was not yet habitable, so less than 300 years ago, but more than a few dozen.

The beginning is different now, with present-time Matari falling and perhaps Moonbane speaking to her through the mask?
I've already seen part of this conversation between Charioteer and Daughter of Aquila. Charioteer came to Holoroth to retrieve something belonging to the Heralds (he was posing as a cultivator from Icuria) and Daughter of Aquila wanted to use it against Canis / Grasslands. 🤔 I guess she did use it and got punished.

Anime is Japanese animated series. This is a Chinese game.
Recently, Korea and China have also been increasingly entering this market, but for now, they're still catching up to Japan.
Chinese cartoons / anime are called donghua. Chinese comics / manga are called manhua.
Naraka has a manhua, but no donghua yet. There are only video clips / cinematics with characters from the game. At least I don't know about any donghua or drama existing about Naraka so far. Naraka is based on curiosities and inspirations from the real world, but it's not a one-to-one representation, nor is it set in a single, specific time period or place, judging by these loose references to reality - as in most fantasy worldwide, anyway.

Lunazra is a conglomeration of cities-states located west of Icuria (China). (Very long time ago something like that often existed, communities usually rather small and concentrated around the main / capital city - of course in case of people that weren't nomads and were staying in one place)
Lunazra is a representation of the entire Middle East, perhaps even including Europe, or at least Rome, whose influence reached as far as the Middle East and North Africa, even to China (though more India than China). And we're speaking about ancient times.
Hadi can be perceived as an Arab, perhaps a Persian, perhaps a Hindu, or something else entirely. There are many possibilities.

Think in categories even before Islam existed and think about different peoples, times and religions. The creators were certainly inspired by many things, not just one. Hadi was inspired by, among others, One Thousand and One Nights (Baśnie Tysiąca i Jednej nocy, in my language), but this is only one element of inspiration.

One of the people/players who visited this channel sees Cyra as an obvious Greek.
I agree, though not entirely, because she had/has other elements besides Greek ones. And in some cases, it's hard to tell whether the creator was inspired more by Greece or Rome, which borrowed many things from the Greeks, among others.
Besides, even in ancient China itself, there were people with blond hair. There are various theories about their origins, but generally speaking, the peoples of Asia - even of China and it's close area - were very diverse. And a bit of it still lived on to our times.
I think Naraka's primary goal is to promote China's cultural heritage and history. Perhaps its closest neighbors as well, but to a much lesser extent.

There was a whole... design that was more Greek than Rome when Cyra entered and a new type of chest was introduced. And there were columns in the background and a Greek building there. But Cyra also has Roman references, also there are other Roman references in Naraka, and her name in the Chinese (and Japanese which is close to original) version is actually Sheila, not Cyra, which is a Roman (through Celtic/Gaelic) name, not Greek version of the name. Her story and that of Lunazra don't exactly fit Greece either, but the Greek elements were/are definitely there too, just as one part of many parts.

Hades is a Greek god, so is Hadi Greek? This year it's a mummy. Temulch has one even more obvious Egyptian god's outfit. In Showdown Wuchen and Tessa are shown as the ones that are cunning behind scenes in cinematics, because that's what they're doing. But every chapter of Showdown have different cannon characters that took part in a specific scene.
Tessa, Tianhai and Wuchen are different from others in that they are of a different species. They aren't humans (in case of Wuchen, he's a hybrid - half human).

If you play with the right characters, you get the Showdown story of what happened.

You can't get those stories without playing specific characters for every chapter / stage of Showdown.

Hi there. As tabbie keeps writing regulary, he's supposed to be another character from another universe.
I don't know from which one and who he is, so I can't really say much about him. I guess he can be Googled, but I haven't done that yet personally.
In Naraka, we only have what appears about him inside the game for now. And his cultivation stories when he'll be added to the game.
Characters from different universes haven't had their bios on the Chinese website so far.

By the way, you have read the stories about places too, when I was absent on Discord, @strong tundra? What are your thoughts about it?

Its okay. I had no idea he was a collab character and tabbie let that out for me. I can see a pattern where Naraka does atleast one guest character per year. I have googled him and I can tell the flying daggers will definitely be his signature weapon. He's also largely melancholic and looking forward to watch his wuxia shows. For the places I just have the general information as to where most heroes hail from Icuria, Lunazra, Canis Islands, Vesper Coven etc.

Canis / Grasslands aren't on islands. It's the steppe north of Icuria with various tribes, on the continent.
Helioth is on islands (Japan).
Also Morus and Kama are islands, further away from the continent than Helioth or at least hard to find / protected from unwated visitors.
So you don't have any thoughts on stories of places / descriptions from the Chinese website? There's information there that's not in-game. There are references to it inside the game, but we have to look for them in cultivation stories, showdown stories, item descriptions, events, etc.

Yeah my bad that was a typo. Although I’d have to say I’m more interested in the characters. The places whey they come from is nice to know like how Vipers cold heart could also be an extension of how she comes from Yushan mountains. It’s nice to know all that but I’m more geared towards why they do what they do. For example I find Wuchens story the most interesting and reading the ‘Way of contraries’ gave a lot of perspective to some of his decisions.

• herald is like, a different race/creature, they came to being first, then comes human. They lives very long compare to human, because their mortal body are different AND they also got some sort of control over their soul/spirit. A herald can die, but they only truly dies if both their body and their spirit got destroyed. Herald and human can produce offspring, but in most case the offspring won't survive. Wuchen is a very rare case.
• in naraka world, living creatures got like a kind of energy/mana, through practice they could manipulate it to do uhh ''magical'' stuffs
  herald got pure yin yang energy, human also got it but their yin yang energy is impure (also not every human have it, so like if you were born without it you got no power and won't be able to practice and do the thing), the technique that herald used to manipulate their yinyang energy is unfitting for human, so Yi (the first Emperor of Icuria Empire) - who possess chaotic energy - learned the energy manipulating technique from herald then from it he made a sort of dumbed down version for human so they can practice controlling their energy
• wuxing (5 elements) system is just the base, the way ancient Chinese explaining the universe. To be fair, wuxing system doesn't really have an explanation of how metal wood water fire earth is the source of wind and lightning and darkness and light etc, but you can think about it like how everything in our universe was made from atoms. Ancient Chinese couldn't come up with the theory about atoms so the five base elements was considered the base theory for uhh everything, as i quote from wiki: ''is a conceptual scheme used in many traditional Chinese fields of study to explain a wide array of phenomena, including terrestrial and celestial relationships, influences, and cycles, that characterise the interactions and relationships within science, medicine, politics, religion and social relationships and education within Chinese culture''.

• wood element most likely will have something to do with healing yes, that's also my thoughts. We do know that Inor's biological father got that power but imo it's too early to tell so better just wait for more official information. Although in Chinese's xianxia culture, wood is usually kind of a ''support'' element and this also presented in naraka (Inor's parents developed a technique which used wood as the foundation then added lightning on top of it to increase the lightning power to an entirely new height), but what it really does (on its own) is unclear atm
• Rin is a ninja from Kirisagi ninja clan/family, she's Kusaka Takamori's fiancee. Kusaka family is one of the Helioth big families, they guard the Helioth spear which contains a part of Yaqi Zi soul sealed inside. Yaqi Zi is a herald who betrayed his clan and wanted to keep the mask of immortality for himself, eventually he got killed (but his soul still not vanished, it got separated and sealed inside some relics, the Helioth spear is one of them).
  Tessa stole the spear, took this fragmented soul and put it into Takamori's body. He struggled to restrain it and slowly getting overwhelmed by it, eventually came to the edge of losing his mind. He called upon his closest friend - Takeda Nobutada, for a sparring match, then purposely dies in Takeda's hand, using his death to pay for the sin of losing the spear and to ask for one last favor from Takeda, that Takeda will take the Yaqi Zi fragmented soul and restrain it.
  No one knows about what really happened or this agreement so what everyone sees is just ''Takeda killed his closest friend and stole the divine relic'', and Takeda wouldn't clear himself either because 1: no one would listen to him and 2: he want to honor his friend and keep the promise, so Takeda became Helioth's most wanted, and as Takamori's fiancee, Rin was set on the path of revenge for her fiancé's murder.

Haven’t tried him on the server but there might be more to him just by reading his lore bits. That’s true he does come across as if Wuchen and Matari had a child based on play style and abilities. He’s also seems to show sentiment which Wuchen and Matari rarely show.

What I meant is also that without reading the descriptions on the Chinese website, it's impossible to understand the entire main context of everything that comes out of it, including the entire game plot and the stories of all the characters. What they're doing and why too.
Some of them are playable characters, some may become playable later, some will stay as NPCs, but are still very relevant to playable characters stories and actions.
The legend of the creation of this world is particularly important. Anyone who hasn't read it won't know basic things about the gods, the Heralds, but after reading it, it's quite clear.
Some information about some characters in the game can be found exclusively in the histories of places. For example, we can learn a lot about Tessa's sister mainly from the stories about Perdoria. In the original version, she is also mentioned in one of Tessa's cultivation stories, but without the context of the information from Perdoria, it's difficult to understand this reference. And in the English version, there's nothing about this sister in cultivation stories at all.

I'm not sure you understood 100% what tabbie meant.
I'll clarify from my side that Heralds are another SPECIES of humanoids, not another race of humans. Heralds are NOT Homo sapiens, in short. A different species, that was on Naraka's earth long before humans came to existence.
Early humans saw Heralds mostly as gods, divine beings and that's where human religions came from. That's the general idea.

Wuchen is the only known successful hybrid of these two species in the world, but all reasons and consequences of that are not yet known to us.
In nature, different species are rarely able to produce offspring when they are too genetically distant. Even if you try to force it. Sometimes, a female of one species can produce hybrid offspring with a male of the other species, but a male of the first species with a female of the other species won't be able to produce offspring. Or vice versa. Such offspring are also often sterile, so further achieving 1/4 hybrids is either even harder or impossible.
We don't know yet if this is the case with Wuchen or how exactly this relates to the Yin Yang potential in his body.
Perhaps he was born and survived because his father was a Herald and his mother was a human. In the case of Tessa Yu's sister (Taizhen Yu), she was a Herald and her husband a human. Perhaps that's why the only time she managed to get pregnant and carry it to term, the child couldn't survive by any method and it was assumed that interbreeding between these species was dangerous, ineffective and almost completely impossible.

Nobutada Takeda isn't a Herald. He's just a normal human, kind of possessed by 1/3 of one Herald's soul or spirit. This Herald was Yaki Zi (Chinese) / Yakiko (Japanese) or known later in Helioth (Japan) as Orochi. This 1/3, called Furen, is slowly taking over Nobutada and probably killing him.

And when it comes to Taoist ideology, Chinese system of the creation and functioning of the world and so on, there is a vast amount of material on those topics. You can read online. Or watch videos about it on Youtube or something similar if you prefer the sound and visual way. It's simply difficult to summarize.

To put it as simply as possible, it works like this in Naraka:
primordial Chaos -> Ying & Yang (two opposing "energies" = Qi / two parts of chaos, arising from chaos, from which everything else in the world and universe arises) -> 5 Chinese elements (none of them is 100% Yang or Ying; all 5 are made of both and are in this sense lower than Yin and Yang) -> everything, any matter, anything

Heralds have pure Yin and Yang Qi in them and in perfect proportions. Humans have impure Ying and Yang Qi and in bad proportions, which makes it much harder for them to cultivate their "powers" and use it, but on the other hand, they're better "victims" to wear / use the Mask of Immortality (which is the purest 100% Yin).

Besides this, there's the Aegis tree, which is the axis mundi of this universe, a divine tree, from the seed of the essence of primordial Chaos. The Aegis tree was protecting Morus from both Sunwing (Yang) and Moonbane (Yin) since the beginning of time. The rest of the world was regularly destroyed and reborn in cycles because of Sunwing and Moonbane's eternal fights to the death of their material bodies and reborning after enough time.
So in this sense the tree is higher than Yin and Yang, but lower than primordial Chaos.

It's possible, but unsure, if they're also related from their mothers side. If they are, that means they're even closer family.
If you like to think they're lovers, not just close friends and family, despite them being first cousins, then alright.
In my country, for example, it's still legal for 1st cousins to actually wed, though I mean female-male relationships in this case.

Personally, I think they don't have to be lovers at all. They can be just best friends who are genuinely on the same wavelength. Some women have very close friendships like that between each other (men too) and there's nothing lewd or sexual about it, even though it may sometimes seem that way to outsiders.

For now there is one female from Helioth - Kurumi and one male - Nobutada. And Yoto as a second Japanese female, but she's a character from another universe, so she isn't completely counted. Rin may join as another female from Helioth, but I don't have an idea for any potential second male character. I don't see this aggressive general Araki as a material for a playable character, but who knows? Takamori is already dead, so he's out of the question. Maybe the son of the other onmyoji family? Maybe someone from the Yoshimitsu family of Helioth? 🤔
Grasslands / Canis so far has a representation of only 1 person - Temulch, so it's even worse. 😄 For it to be fair, Grasslands should have at least one female playable character, like Helioth. Huanyue appeared, but as a boss only, not as a playable character.

Valda didn't really want to make Tarka submissive to him. And they started as lovers.
If I remember that right, it was written that Rin and Takamori started as childhood friends. Takamori was a playboy. Only at some point, not long ago, Rin dominated him and they decided to marry. But poor Nobutada killed his best friend Takamori before the weeding. And Takamori for some reason didn't left Rin any message. Maybe he was too afraid of her 😄 or embarassed. Or maybe she knows the truth, but she's envious of Nobutada, I have no idea.

She may start calling him by his first name if they become a pair in the future.
Takamori and Nobutada could call each other by their first names, because they were of the same or very similar age and were close friends.
Furen says Takeda probably for fun, not for serious reasons. Making fun of him and his family, rather than being respectful. 😄

She is a shinobi, head of Helioth's (Japanese) shinobi clan. To say it differently, she's a ninja. Kunoichi, she can also be named that way.
But I don't know if those shinobi will be more like in real life or more like in fantasy.
There are both real-life elements and fantasy elements present in Naraka.

I guess we'll see when and if they add her as a playable character. 🙂

Kurumi is also a mix of real life onmyoji and fantasy onmyoji. And Shinto miko too.

Shinto is real to those who believe in it and only to them, of course. Onmyoji was a very serious imperial court position in the past.

It's an actual legend from Shinto. Just like Shinto also have the 3 legendary artifacts.
They added it to Naraka in this way that one Herald changed into Orochi, because of the Mask of Immortality (Yin Qi).
1/3 of that Herald's soul or spirit is Furen (currently possessing Nobutada).
Nobutada has one outfit named Susanoo, after the Shinto god. Susanoo was the one who slayed Orochi. In Naraka's version it was the effort of one Herald and 3 humans - from Yoshimitsu, Tsuchimikado and Chidori family (instead of Susanoo). Nobutada is from Chidori's island, but not Chidori family, or at least not directly.
Orochi fistblades are Rin Kisaragi's fistblades. She or her clan had/has something to do with Orochi for some reason.
We can speculate what her connection to Orochi is. Maybe she got Chidori's mirror from Araki? 🤔

Do you think she's of very distant relation to them? If he's a Psylith, I know they acted as spiritual leaders for some so maybe he taught them the art of poison/medicine and then went crazy down the line and they had to work to stop him

He was considered the genius of the Psylith sect. Tessa's sister, Taizhen, was to marry him, but she chose a marriage of love (human Jiling), not a marriage of convenience. Much to her misfortune, she ended up miserably anyway.
He was of a serpent family / clan, Tessa's family is a fox family / clan among Psylith.
Yakizi was a traitor, he stole the mask and fled to Helioth, raising an army of monsters there. Youkai in Helioth are a result of his actions. This was after an internal war among the Heralds and their sects. That's why he was chased and killed, humans may not had anything to do with it. LiJi or JiLi from the Fervent sect (the same Li - Plum as in Inor's real last name, but it doesn't have to mean anything) simply cooperated with three talented people he met in Helioth during the pursuit of Yakizi.
He transformed into the Orochi in ancient times, by looking from the perspectives of humans. Helioth was first established as a country at that time after killing him.
If he had direct contact with Kisaragi (I think it would have to be earlier than events with him turning into Orochi, he was too busy at that time to personally teach some humans), then they were very distant ancestors of Rin, who could pass on some knowledge over the centuries from generation to generation (but after so long, the knowledge would likely become diluted).
Or her family / clan didn't even exist back then, it could be newer and started centuries later. Maybe they were fascinated by this bad guy story and tried to find out as much as they could about what and how he did. They could come across Poison Qi powers and learn / start using it.
Maybe Chidori's mirror somehow fell into hands of Rin or her family, then they may have contact with 1/3 of him, just like Nobutada has contact with Furen. But it's unclear whether they could learn anything valuable this way. It's just a part of him and those parts are broken in some way. It may not have complete self-awareness and knowledge.

Tianhai was the envoy of Heralds for a long time (someone who persuaded strong humans to use the mask, then guarded them until the mask killed them, took the mask again and looked for the next person).
What he experienced gave him a lot to think about and was very much against his conscience.
Tianhai had always felt compassion for humans and couldn't do it anymore.
He promised the Flame Emperor of Icuria, who became his best friend, that after his death he would not allow any other human to use the mask. Flame Emperor made Tianhai promise that he will destroy the mask.
The mask was made from Moonbane's scale by Moonbane for Yi to defeat Sunwing. During Moonbane's last fight with Sunwing, where Sunwing had as many as 9 bodies and a significant advantage, because when humans fought against Yushan human tribe and focused only on them, Moonbane lost victims, while the Embers were able to make many more sacrifices to Sunwing (human sacrifices), Sunwing drew a lot of strength from it.
I think mask can be destroyed, this power can just go back to Moonbane.
But we are left with the problem that the Aegis tree was destroyed during the last fight with Sunwing, to absorb excess of Yang power.
Aegis tree was protecting Morus area from Moonbane and Sunwing's fights. If it won't be there for the next fight, when Sunwing and Moonbane will resurrect again, because it won't repair itself or it won't be possible to repair it, all Heralds will die this time along with humans.

He doesn't care that much about humans misfortunes, deaths and so on. His vision is more important to him. He's trying to be higher than both Heralds and humans.
Tianhai cares very much, Wuchen doesn't care. Tessa too.
Wuchen only cares about doing what he sees as right for himself and his big plans. He's very similar to Nuxin in many aspects.
The only person Wuchen spared against his plans and predictions was a little boy, who reminded him of himself when he was a child. So he did it for a pretty egoistical reason. Tessa made fun of him because of that, she saw and knew what his reasons were. The more so because he knew the boy's future and it would be "better" to this boy and many other humans to kill this boy when he was still a boy, instead of letting him live.

Of course we know that this boy became later a mentor / teacher for Hadi. He died anyway, but as an old man, on arena. As punishment from Hadi's family.
Hadi was devastated and went to exile by his own choice, with his master's ashes. To travel around the continent, as his master wanted when he was young.
His master was one of slaves in Red Dove city. It was just Hadi, among his family, who was nice to slaves. His family ruled Red Dove city-state in Lunazra.

Fervents are like conservatives that care most about order and rules, Taoists, Confucianists.
Psylith is like all naturalistic religions, connected with nature and all kinds of animals, etc. Like many primordial humans religions were around the world. That's why it's written that first humans supposedly made such religions under the influence of Psylith Heralds, who got closer to humans first.

Yushan as a cult existed even before humans came into existance. Embers maybe too.
Some Heralds were worshiping only Moonbane, they built Yushan and did that there.
They fled to Morus (the only way to survive) during the fight between Sunwing and Moobane. And when they started coming back at the time when humans showed up, they found humans who had accidentally stumbled upon the ruins of Yushan and adopted them as their own. Humans took the returning Heralds to be gods.
Probably the first Herald that came back to Yushan was a woman and maybe she was the "first Yushan maiden" according to human Yushan tradition.
Or maybe they call that Moonbane? Since Moonbane is Yin, she may be female. But I don't think Moonbane had a human-like body / an avatar on Earth of sorts. It seems like Moonbane is using Yushan cult's human members as eyes and puppets (more or less the same Sunwing is doing with Embers cult's human members). I don't know what Moonbane was doing with Herald cult members.

I haven't finished yet descriptions of characters from the website, but I have roughly finished the stories of places quite a while ago, several months ago - when I created the google drive. They just need to be corrected from time to time, some new info can be added from time to time.

Justina doesn't know much herself at all. Her mother didn't tell her much. Dealyn shared something only with Viper, leaving Justina in blissful ignorance. We don't know why. We don't know everything about what was happening between Dealyn, Aconita and two imperial princes.
Justina knows almost nothing about Yushan secrets.
If Viper didn't or won't tell her more, she won't know. Probably no one else from Yushan would be willing to tell her.
She's trying to get to know more and working hard in a direction that seems to be right from what she got to know so far, but she's just a human. She makes mistakes, doesn't understand everything and gets a little confused from time to time.
