Not even just new players but it's a struggle to build a full new set with that
It's underwhelming that the last souljade you get from the Nightscream version of the new boss is only to add additional mark.
ice build is essentially useless for badges
I don't think that's to maximize damage tbh. Since you can't get the same non-rare on the same jade, that's at least 1 Attack and 1 Primary DMG Bonus that's missing from that one jade.
Likely was made with switching builds easier in mind.

It gives you an extra 2s of leeway. For example, it makes doing this more comfortable:
If you want to scale 4 different non-rares equally, you can just do:

- x6 Stat 1 (6 Stat Value)
- x6 Stat 2 (6 Stat Value)
- x6 Stat 3 (6 Stat Value)
- x6 Stat 4 (6 Stat Value)

Doing it your way, that would be:

So while it does give more overall stat value, it also gives priority to 2 stats alongside costing more than 3 times as many Rare Attributes on average.

There's:

I doubt any build wants a truly equal split among 4 non-Rare Attributes though. There's:

- 7 Rare Attributes Spent: 25.5 Stat Value
- 13 Rare Attributes Spent: 27 Stat Value
13 Rare Attributes Spent: 27 Stat Value , i think this one is 10 rare attribute spent?
since its 4 mod and 6 windfall
- 1st Mod + 6 Windfalls = 7 Rares Spent
- 2nd, 3rd & 4th Mod = 3 × 2 Rares Spent
7 + 3 × 2 = 13
It looks like 4 Mod + 0 Windfalls will always give 24 Stat Value, 4 Mod + 1-7 Windfalls spread evenly will give 25.5 Stat Value and 4 Mod on one jade + 6 Windfall spread evenly gives 27 Stat Value.

Accumulation rate shouldn't matter much for this build. The Threefold Attacks hit hard enough to proc any element.
Huanyue keeps killing me when I get to the 9th or 10th boss with her undefusable attacks.

- Limit Curios to only Tempered Inferno and a select End-game.
- Allow us to Recast (Curio) Attributes with Tempered Curio Essence.
That would reduce the required Curio grind, but also prevent non-Curio builds from being useless.

They're interesting.
Probably the highest skill cap we've had so far, but also has some RNG in it that other builds haven't till now.
I am noticing a weakness in that overly mobile bosses hurt it quite a bit. Which sucks cause they just adding ones that constantly fly.
I could only see them removing that if they add a weaker version of Blazing Flame's effect as a constant for Burn.
Otherwise, Scorching will become useless again, which I think they're trying to avoid.
I can't see what other direction they take potential in if they continue to change it every season like they've been doing
Element surge potential remains as relevant as ever before curios
Yeah Ice Surge still one of the strongest, if not the strongest mobbing build we have atm

So really none of the potential trees can be removed unless the idea is this is the permanent tree, and they just change the actual buffs inside

They hit extremely hard with proper set up.
Against more aggressive bosses, you'd probably want to go for Azure Draco Break, while less aggressive ones Vermillion Bird Scorch.

On paper they can be. Thunder Scorch Surge is much more comfortable to play though, with less DPS lost from failure.

Meanwhile, if you miss a Threefold Attack, you mine as well restart your run. If you manage to land it outside of the BTA buff, then it'll do 1/4th of the damage.

I can't imagine how disastrous of a grind it'd be if we were still leveling up souljades directly

I wasn't around for when that was a thing but I hear it was horrible
to be honest its not much of a difference
and later in season u have some blue jades stocked up so u can level up instantly
its nice QoL to have showdown lvl instead
but its not like they changed a whole lot
It increased the value of Blue Souljades ever so slightly and removed the initial expenditure. Pretty decent QoL, but there's still the gapping issue of the reliance on Rare Attributes.

They could do a lot of stuff:
Remove Armor and Weapon Rarity Upgrades from Hero Levels
- Instead, have preset Armor and Weapon as possible drops from varying levels.
Remove Attributes from Souljades
- Instead, have Attributes be a removable item from Armor/Weapon slots that you can upgrade over time.
Rework the Souljade Rarity System
- Instead of certain Souljades being Epic or Legendary, have all Souljades able to upgrade to Extreme with increasing strength (similar to Curio rarities).
Remove all Infinite RNG Systems
- Attribute Value can have lower chances to upgrade at higher amounts, but has a set amount of attempts until it's guaranteed.
- Allow Tempered Essence to be used to Recast Attributes on Curios. Recast attempts can not result in the same Attribute that was present before the attempt.

- 30-50 Tempered Essence can be combined into an item, that when used, allows an Attribute of the player's choice to appear.

I don't agree with the first point because we really don't need yet another item to worry about dropping in showdown in any form, having that be a guarantee via level ups is fine. But the rest would be better

Numbers matter less than right stats
There's a pin of recasting strategies, check that out

tbh i think diablo 3 system would be best overall
u drop gear with random stats
and u can pick only one stat to reroll to stat of choice
and max value
and for yama u just add "all stats have max value"
so people can grind their gear infinitely effectively
because its extremely unlikely u hit max stats on 3 stats out of 4 or something
rerolling one stat alleviates randomness just enough to keep it fun
or there can be 2 versions of yama
1 version where u take preset builds
and 1 version where u take ur own grinded gear
would be nice also if they made open world map
where u do various activities and quests
and gradually consume fatigue
like enigma but full map
- quests
basically new rift map with more mobs

Was actually a bit handy in TI
Maybe Wuchen with Yin Yang/Burn. Everything dies too fast for Element in Normal.
As for hard, the fastest for me has been Akos. Grab Element & Lotus rings, alongside some good positioning on his roars and you can clear fast.
As I understand it, Shayol's V gives her 70% armor, and level 21 adds another 30%. Does that make it 100%, or does it scale differently? Please explain it to me.

Easiest way to test would be with Armored Artist. See if the damage from it increases by 70% (additive) or ~121% (multiplicative) when you enter Ultimate compared to without.

The damage only scales by 3% per 1000 Armor
and you can regen Armor from Parries/Defusing.

Right now it looks like it has 2 paths, ones better for mobbing, the other is better for bossing.
Mobbing Set Up
Threefold Gathering, Four Spirits Converge, Dual Spirit Marks, Pestilent Pool, Element Surge, & Miasma Drive
-# Do note for the current Yama's Stage, the mobs die too quickly to make use of the Attack buffs from Miasma Drive.
- Spam your Heroes' Aegis-break to acquire Mortal Marks, to then activate Vermilion Bird Scorch when you get 3 by landing a Crouched Horizontal attack.
Bossing Set Up
Threefold Gathering, Four Spirits Converge, Dual Spirit Marks, Thunderpull, Thunder Counter, & Thunderproof
- Charge up Thundershock by spamming attacks, then use it to get a Defuse Counterattack + Counterstrike off, for an Earth and a Heaven Mark respectively. Then use an Aegis-break followed by a Crouched Horizontal to activate Black Tortoise's Aid. From there, spam Aegis-breaks (or Defuse Counterattacks for aggressive bosses) and use a Crouched Horizontal attack when you get 3 of a kind. Repeat until Black Tortoise's Aid runs out.
Recommended Heroes
- Viper Ning, Feria Shen (w/ Sap), Tianhai (w/ Jabbing), Kurumi (w/ Sap), Valda Cui, Matari, Wuchen, Justina, & Shayol Wei.

The issue with that is while it may be good for the one time, the people who typically play those types of ARPGs want long grinds or replay the game multiple times so if D4 can't provide that, it's not good

Cinematics are alright. They enhance story telling, but I think we've kind of grown past it. Cinematics are a poor use of business resources nowadays.

Okay, I tried the new mini boss on Nightscream pretty underleveled (Lv. 62 vs 77). It is fast, but it actually has good telegraphs. Unlike Matron that you have to guess based on how fast she rotates slowly.

I agree though, I actually have to pay attention when playing Nightscream/Legend, but literally can watch a Subbed Anime while running "Hard".
There should be like a 5% chance or something to get a flux shard for clearing Legend ruins, as an extra reward for each completion.
Would have to be more than that cause Legend takes a really long time to clear. At the very least it should consume more fatigue than Tempered Inferno. Having a 5% chance to drop Flux Jade Shards on top of that would be nice. Maybe a 1-2.5% chance in Nightscream.
Yeah, I mean I don’t know the logistics, but there should be more proper rewards from both.
Cause if they just increase the rewards without increasing the fatigue cost, it'll be more of a punishment for players who don't have as much time to invest in it.

What is happening with showdown... Why in the past Im suck like crazy already on first 5 lvl in yama, but right now I complete it so easy without extra life and, what is more fun, without lvl and potential... Literally last yama what is open ask about lvl 80, I completed it in lvl 35 ... I don't remember something like that
First few levels up to Paragon 5 are usually super easy, then they turn up the scaling a lot, likely to compensate for Curios.

coz it had frog korvine and normal korvine both
and frog korvine takes like 2x longer than anything else with burn build
Old Yama's also had Omens that significantly reduced the damage of everything except a certain damage type, so if you didn't get the corresponding rings for it early enough, you could pretty much scrap that run, regardless of your skill. Then there was the fact that the Lost Curse didn't consume time, so the absolute fastest runs had to abuse that. Your Souljades also had to be bought in a shop and with there being so many set-based Souljades, if you didn't get those together, that run is scrapped. Trios amplified this fact by needing all 3 players to get the right stuff, or you feed everything into one while the others afk. Not just that, but the Attributes on the Souljades you could get were randomized, with the ones you actually have outside of the mode influencing the ones that can appear slightly.
All around it was terrible RNG on top of RNG to get the fastest runs, with skill only helping on the slight chances that everything aligned.

Mini boss felt pretty easy to me. Very well telegraphed. The main boss instead has many mix ups.

2 Windfalls increases the non-rare stats by 60-100%.
yes...one jade can have 2 wf... will give +100% for each non rare on that jade
I'm assuming it works similar to Yoto's Ult. You can only stagger when boss isn't focused.

i mean in niti i kill boss very fast so i dont remember all the move and he cant one shot me because of buff buy with 4000 coin and if it a good run it very easy, but on the map i dont have full potential and boss one shot very easy just 1 hit then the game is gone

So that was a long time ago, and the fact they didn't bring back the old system means that the playerbase (at least in CN) prefer this current system.

e.g. new maelstrom map is hated by majority of people
but there are no signs of them removing it or fixing core issues like poison sea or red weapons
in CN they can just turn it off from matchmaking so they dont care
They have the metrics to back it up. Unlike BR which they keep screwing up and Rift which the mess up like 50% of the time, Showdown has been very consistent and they've actually listened to player feedback. Surprisingly they actually use Zer0's suggestions which implies many players in China have complained about the same issues.

its like i can go and make feedback thread to be done with RNG rare attribute hell

but idk if devs want to fix it
they see it as some engagement mechanic in their twisted metrics

If they allowed us to test builds by allowing us to adjust attritbues in training mode
