Is Hydroflare still viable? Everyone seems to be avoiding Scorching like the Black Plague. I want to know if I can add another Burn Jade to my current build to up my damage on monk.

I wouldn't recommend starting any builds right now since Season is so close to ending, but current best for Viper Ning is Ice Surge. Check the pins for more info.

It doesn't have any synergy with any of the Curios at the moment. Burn also just doesn't scale with any other DMG Bonuses other than Blazing Flame (Health%). So you're even limited on Yang Curio Attributes you could run.

Builds that do run Scorching usually have Draco Stride as well, as relying on Hydro's Bound and Frost Douse to Soak is not only slow, but it forces you to forgo a lot of the things boosting Counterstrikes in the Potential (Thunder Smash & Incorporeal).

So here’s my issue:
I get better times in Yamas solos with this build versus when I used the meta monk builds, and on NA PC I’m always number 1 monk. I rely on Hydro’s Bound because I proc it every 2-3 seconds once I’m in ult, so Hydroflare is constantly going off with my counterstrikes and skill. Which is more frequently than the Chain Crush, which I proc’d every 5-6 seconds or so.

Despite this, I should still avoid Burn and stick to Chain Crush?

Hydro's Bound can proc at most once per 6s as Poison Blast has a 6s cooldown. Same for Frost Douse, as Ice Blast has a 6s cooldown without Frozen Blast. So if you're doing the double Scorching strat, you're going to overwrite it, unless you're just doing single Scorchings.

I doubt you'll be able to proc Poison Blast with 1 Wielding in Tempered Inferno due to the sheer amount of resistance they have.

The main point though is usually to allow you to use another Skill every other Ice Blast outside of Tempered Inferno. Allowing you to get your Ultimate up quicker and deal more DPS.
