Hey guys back with more questions :
-I sometimes see a message saying "Alliance is available in this match". What's that indicating?
-How does the new Wuchen ulti work? I can time dodges just fine but if any other teammate of his hits me and then the swords collapse on me I just watch myself be stunlocked to heaven and beyond (unless I have an evading F, but I don't always have one)
-How do you counter a Matari teleporting around you and releasing blue from weird angles/above you? I try to listen to sound cues but it's usually not enough to react for me. It doesn't help that I'm often the Viper player and she just shuts down my ulti. I try to play around it and bait her ulti, but the good Mataris just win the patience game. Is the ult trade worth it?
-I've also tried the tips some of you gave me against the new hero (use terrain/buildings or time dodges), which they did work in 1v1 scenarios/isolated fights, especially against "spammy" players, but it's not working when I get sandwiched between him and one of his teammates, where it's enough to end me if it's well coordinated. So far the best tool has been to silence and full on dunk him, but if the enemy team has an answer to our fast engage OR if the new hero sneaks up on us as a 3rd party it's always over for at least one of us.

Frustration has built up tremendously since I've climbed to high Solar/Empyrean, especially in lobbies full of Asia players.

P.S. I see there are Dojo streams to help players with their bad habits, but I'm usually not around when they happen. I'd be down to spar with someone here some time in the near future. I mostly play trios but practice won't hurt.

1. You can use 7500 coins to start an alliance. It's used after your teammates leave you to team up with another player whose teammates have left them to form a new team with them. It has to be made before the 5th shadow zone moves. Each player can only start an alliance once per game. If there are less than 4 teams in the match, alliance is closed.
2. Yes it's a bitch, if you don't dodge them they will stagger you and this is the perfect opportunity for his teammates to attack
3. Prediction, and matari ult will always counter viper ult, it's just a natural counter-pick

that's because you play in higher ranked lobbies; dont worry, starting from platinum, you will start to find less bots and more real people. at that moment you will also lose points if you dont perform too well 👍

but usually if you play in a lobby that's rated higher than your level, you are going to gain a few points in nearly any case (this becomes less true the more you climb)

What rank are you? In every region except china are many bots, in china they have a bigger player base which leads to less bots but there are still bots

It depends on the rank, let's say for example you're bronze then you're gonna get many bot matches before you get real players in your lobby. It's due to not many people being in the same rank that's why sometimes low ranked people get into a very high lobby where they can't even compete

Your grapple is alright, it should work if you grapple like that but since you're a beginner it's better if you grapple in the small circle under him. Your charge is kind of late as well, the moment you uppercut you should immediately grapple

Pre charge is good, grapple timing aswell; you are going too far, just that. The position you are in is good for a double uppercut, but for a focus, the enemy is too behind you and too low; as Yuki and Tabbie said, try grappling closer 👍👍. Your best bet is aiming for the center of the landing gray circle; if you are not comfortable with that; try to at least stay in the far end of it. The idea is that you bump the enemy to be in front of you, instead of over you or behind you 👍

You can try all heros in free training. Also the meta characters would depend on which mode you're playing.

For solos I'd say matari, justina, hadi or kylin

Hadi and kylin are the easiest to use imo. Matari would be mid lvl difficulty to fully take advantage or her kit. Justina is the hardest to master

For duos/trios you can't never go wrong with something like tessa for crowd control. For healers kurumi or ziping. For dmg dealers, feria or zai.

depends on what mode you play and in teammodes who your team is:
Solos: I think Wuchen, Matari, Lyam and Hadi are pretty good in solos but I'm not a solos player.
Duos: Kylin Ziping is a very strong team. Feria Kurumi are also pretty strong. I also see many Zai. Good chance there are more good comps/champs but these are the ones I see the most.
Trios: Kurumi is propably the character that's the most consistently played in top comps no matter the patch notes but there is a new support hero coming next. Comps around Viper's ultimate are pretty strong with cc set up like Tessa and a healer. The Comet comp with Zai F2 and Matari's ult that resets Zai's comet is good. Comps with the Monk are often seen in pro play but characters like Kylin and feria are also pretty good. I just don't know a specific comp around them atm.
Showdown: Wuchen is pretty good, Viper is the best for speedruns but only once you have the right gear.

Almost all characters are viable in almost every mode and almost every character is pretty good in at least one mode. I have definitely forgotten to mention some and wrote more about the ones I use 😅 . I hope it helps though

Tarka is also very often seen in solos, so if you ask me he is meta there but any tarka player will tell you he needs a buff.
