most cheats wont work on proton , especally cheats that need torun at the kernel level, while proton translates win calls to posix complent calls, not everything is 1 to 1 and not every comand is supported. Most the time the cheats wont even run. So what the APEX dude is talking about the lowest userbase is the highest grifter in the game isnt meaning Linux users actualy cheat. So what happens is they spoof the Cheats in game to make it seem lke they are running in linux which relaxes the anti cheat . Its not a linux problem its a we are lazy devs and dont want to fix the problem

Since Linux anti cheat for apex had to run in userspace and not kernel space. Which once windows kicks them out of the kernel thy are gong to have the same problem they had before but this time they cant blame the linux playerbase for it

Not saying with enough work you cant get cheat software to run in linux like it would in windows the same way, Just the way that linux and proton sandbox everything into its own container, its way more work to do it. Even Wine would be brutal to make working cheats for MP games

Mind you all the source code is avaliable for Wine and Proton so forth and the linux kernel.
