#Spark: The Evolution of my 5 Plus

I’ve been doing some speed testing and settled on a velocity of 700mm/s and 30k accel
Although I’ve started noticing some belt rubbing on my left tension tower and weird screeching(?) noises during faster moves. So I guess I’ll be taking Spark apart and cleaning the rails and checking all of the dowels tomorrow.
Since I’ve wanted to reprint everything in blue, I decided to do it now since I’ll be taking everything apart anyway.
Calling it a night for now.
I got all the rails cleaned, relubed, and installed. Now I just need to put it all back together.
Done with the rebuild, now onto cable management.
Forgot to add: I did run a quick speed test and the weird sound seems to be gone.
Still need to do an extended test but I printed an orca cube and travel moves sounded normal
Still haven’t done any cable management
@amber plank I have a question for you, are you using stock power supply? If i recall it only has three V+ and V-. Board, Mosfet, and CAN.
How do you have that all hooked up I am confused how I am supposed to connect the hotbed... it has a dangling Red wire from the yellow XT90 connector.
When I get home I can post a picture of my wiring, but I have my 24V+ cables run with stacked spade connectors in the psu
Thanks that would be helpful. I was wondering if running more than one component from a single V+ / V- was possible.
It’s not recommended from what I know, but I don’t have any wago connectors right now
@urban escarp
okay so it can totally be done. FOr some reason I was hesitant even to Wago it because I wasnt sure if it would draw too much or otherwise impact the electronics.
Thanks for the photo!
Cable management in progress
Decided to change the orientation of my din rails and I think it’s looking a lot better.
It’s starting to look like less of a fire hazard
Got all of the power cables run except for the bed and ac wires
Still need to run can bus and stepper wires, but it’s getting really close
After getting some help in the Armor3d discord for the screeching issue we discovered that by frame is probably out of square
As of today I have received all of the parts needed for a full nebula conversion (hydra included)
Pre disassembly pic:
New frame has been built
Installed skirts yesterday and I’ve started laying out the electronics today
First print, I forgot to clean the bed and I messed up my extruder config
