I have what I think to be visual snow, but I haven’t been diagnosed
I think so! Mostly notice it in the dark
Same
I can see mine all day, but it’s pretty easy to ignore since I’ve had it forever. But it can make reading fine text quite difficult, and I can’t really see anything in the dark other then the snow
yeah I can see mine all day too :p weirdly it lessens and intensifies depending on the day for me lol
Do you also struggle to look at the sky on cloudy days? The cloudy sky is almost as bad as at night.
Hello!! I think I might have visual snow but I haven't been diagnosed i seem to experience it slightly during the day and alot during night
me too!! i told one of my teachers in grade 2 because i thought it was normal and she said to go see a docter and i did and they found nothing... because its neurological. still havent got it completely tested because its not harmful.
I haven’t bothered trying to get it diagnosed since it doesn’t do anything other than being a bit of a nuisance sometimes. I think I’ve mentioned it to one doctor but I don’t think they cared lol
True. I don’t think there’s much you can do abt it. I see it every day and sometimes it’s annoying but I’ve lived with it my whole life.
I’ve been diagnosed with visual snow, and I just thought it was normal because I’ve lived with it my entire life, until it started getting worse with my autoimmune disease. The doctor (I went to an ophthalmologist) said my eyes were healthy and nothing was wrong neurologically so there’s really nothing to be worried about it, I don’t think, besides the symptoms that come along with it, of course. If you have any questions about it just @ me and I’ll do my best to help!
I have it!
Not for me, I see mine a ton and love it!
I didn't realise visual snow was something you could get diagnosed with (thanks a lot internet /sar)
I am not diagnosed but I am pretty sure I have it. I have so many memories of watching it as a kid and being convinced that the shapes I saw were fossils inside my houses walls 😭 I also thought the pieces of "snow" were atoms
Oh the things we think as kids
Yeah, I thought I could see atoms lol
I've had on and off visual snow for a couple years
it's never bothered me too much, but it gets noticably worse in low lighting or when I'm having a medical episode
Omg haha me too! I guess this is somewhat a universal experience 😂
Same! Mine has gotten significantly worse since having autoimmune problems and it’s been making it difficult to see sometimes, like in low lighting like you said.
GG @mellow rapids, you just advanced to level 2!
Does anyone know any tips to help with visual snow?
I sleep with a light on somewhere in the room at night so I don’t get dizzy from the moving and flashing snow
I also avoid reading text with words close together because if just takes so much effort
